Welcome to The Berry Home: where the food is to-die-for! When Kylie’s tenant next door offers meals to-go, sales at The Berry Home grind to a near-standstill.
Unfortunately, the terms of the lease mean that Kylie can’t do anything about the competition… until the tenant is found dead – and once again, fingers begin to point at Kylie.
With the help of her friends, Kylie attempts to unravel the threads of mystery surrounding the murder, all while keeping The Berry Home afloat, and befriending a mysterious local who’s come back to town.
Meanwhile, Zoey creates a “murder-solving” software that spits out strange information, and Brad is excited about the prospect of a major change in his life.
The story is 5 stars! I love this series so much. It has quirky characters which I find quite endearing and an adorable little kitty named Sage. Kylie is honest with herself (most of the time) about her abilities but that doesn't stop her from trying. The only reason I rated this 4 and not 5... The editing. There are so many typos, it messes up the flow horribly. Overall, a fantastic read for cozy mystery lovers!
Kylie's back!!!! It's been a while but it was worth the wait! Kylie is back and better than ever. She still can't cook well but is valiantly trying to learn. Her diner is still struggling but she's giving it her all except for when she's trying to figure out who killed her next door tenant, Bonnie. Bonnie's mattress store failed so now she's opened up a deli next to the diner. She has all of the local home cooks making their specialties and selling them in box lunches, much to Kylie's chagrin. So it's no wonder when Bonnie turns up dead that Kylie is a suspect. All of Kylie's friends gather round to support her and the diner and help solve the mystery. It's no easy feat as Bonnie was a terrible person who loved to cause people pain. The mystery is good, the food is delicious sounding and the characters are wonderful. Welcome Home Berry!! I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
If this is your first foray into the world of Kylie Berry please stop and begin with A Berry Deadly Welcome.
In all truth, I almost quit this book three quarters of the way through. It just wasn't holding my interest, the characters were the same. The dialogue didn't hold me into the story. There are editing issues...like all of Winters books. Where did Kylie get a car... Let alone one she hadn't driven in a while... Because truth be told she'd never driven it before.
There were character bombs that were ignored. Plot gimmicks that were dropped.
Enjoyable yes, but I think I will take a break from Kylie Berry books.
… I wasn’t sure if there was going to be another Kylie Berry book, since the last one was quite some time ago - so I was thrilled to see this book. The story had a lot of twists and turns and kept me guessing who the killer was and caught me by surprise. Well done! Along with the drama, there are lots of laughs and I like the interaction between Kylie & Greyson. Also like the new guy Liam being added to the mix. Hopefully won’t be as long a wait for the next book.😉
What happens when a person deserved to die? You find the killer!
Bonnie was truly a terrible person and had a LONG list of evil deeds. Almost everyone in town wanted her dead and applauded the murderer! The more Kylie tried to find the killer the more she realized there were way too many people with a motive. With Joel out of their romantic triangle was she left with a shoe -in for her boyfriend? No! Another just stomped in to the opening and he has no intention of letting her get away.
So glad Kylie is back!! Love this series. This was a great one! Kept you guessing until the end. Definitely need to read this series. Love the relationship between Kylie and Zoey snd all the complications in Kylies love life. Hope there are many more of this series. Also check out the Tiffany zblack series!!!
This 9th book of the Kylie Berry mysteries does not disappoint! Full of laughs, smiles, and heart it is hard to put down and provides the reader with a place to disappear into. Although the killer can be guessed near the middle of the book, how it is revealed to Kylie is left as a mystery until the end.
I started reading with#1. I'll be looking for more. I've had a book in my hand since Dick met Jane and Spot started running in 1st grade. At 78, I've read a boatload of books. I hope you keep writing your own stuff until I die, which will probably be another 10 Or 20 years. I'll read them all.
This author is so very good at writing! I feel so fortunate to have found her. Her books are so entertaining and enjoyable to read. The story lines are so well thought out and her characters are so interesting and believable. The only negative for me is the sleep I've lost because I can hardly put hem down
I really enjoy Kylie’s spunk! She keeps getting knock down, but keep’s getting back up. I would definitely visit her cafe & even eat off the Oops Board. This is a very fun whodunnit. Kylie again saves the day.
I really enjoy this series...It's entertaining and I like the characters. One of my favorite aspects of this series is the romance quandary and my curiosity on which man Kylie will choose. This book was on par with the previous ones. :)
So glad her fans convinced her to come back to this series. Kylie is an enigma wrapped in a mystery walking, that makes all our bad days look light and merry. So fun!
Kylie Berry is a total mess that has a solid fellowship of friends that support her, even when she keeps finding dead bodies! Her love life still isn’t sorted and cooking is always questionable…
This one was a page turner comma i'm usually good about figuring out Who done it, but this one hadn't made stomped. Grateful great emotion, great book.
I was thoroughly surprised at how enjoyable this book was. The author has set a new standard in her writing. Loved the humor and suspense and all the characters.
