Having followed a (mostly whole food) vegan diet for 6 years now, I felt my cooking was in a bit of a rut, so I bought "The Whole Vegetable" as inspiration.

It is a delight to read. The recipes I have made are fantastic, and the ingredients are easy to find, and often to grow, if you have an allotment or garden.

The approach means you often have delicious leftovers ready for another meal, which she gives extra ideas for at the end of the recipes.

I am definitely out of the rut!

There's a welcome focus on reducing waste and there are some original and interesting recipes. It's a bit idealised (know-it-all-y) though and lacks encouragement or warmth.
