A family goes to the beach and they play in the sand. They go swimming, build a sand castle, and eat ice cream. When it begins to rain, they run indoors for snack. It's a perfect day at the beach!

I liked some of the art in this book, and other pages looked odd. Sometimes the people look distorted, like their hands or feet are weird sizes.

The text is very simple. Just a few words on each page, which I liked for young readers. However, the text is in rhyme, and the words don't always rhyme, or they do rhyme but it's a bit of a stretch. It's disjointed and doesn't really flow well.

Absolutely loved this little book. I was fortunate to win a copy but it looked an ideal book for my granddaughter and I was right. The illustrations in here are just superb, I love the way they include people from all walks of life it makes such a refreshing change. The story is a very simple tale of a day at the beach and it covers everything, it certainly reminded me of my childhood days out. It is written in rhyme and with just a few words on each page it gives plenty of scope to discuss what it is happening. I found this a perfect book to sit and read with children, just curl up on the sofa and transport yourself back to a day at the beach
