Fool Me Thrice: Money Changes Everything
Charlie Mo is a young skirt-chaser that inherited a small fortune from his deceased parents. He relished being a womanizer with an army of Gold-Diggers until he lost everything that was left to him. Being down on his luck, Charlie Mo builds a close bond with his boss and closest friend, Tin Can, that gives him hope he can turn his life around. Thank you to the author for sending me this free copy along with the second book in exchange for an honest review.
2 stars
So, this is not the book I won. But due to some issues with shipping, I received this book along with Book 2 (which is the one I actually won). I do appreciate that but I still want to be honest.
So, what did I like? Charlie Mo's story with money is pretty relatable. Minus all the women and stuff, when I first left my parents and started college, I blew all my money because I never really knew how to save. It's a hard lesson but it's a relatable thing especially for younger people just coming into adulthood.
The story was easy to read as well.
But now I must get into what I wasn't a fan of.
First off, Charlie Mo is the worst. I initially thought he was going to be older (not 21) but that wasn't really an issue. What is an issue is just him in general. Yes, he is young and dumb, but he treats women terribly! He strings along two women by telling him he loves them and sleeping with them. Even if he does genuinely care about both, he still is actively hurting them by not communicating or really caring.
Also, I have no issues with smut or sexual content in books. I'm an adult. But the descriptions of women's bodies was basically just p0rn. And that would be fine (again, I've read books now a days that have similar descriptions) but it's constantly repeated for all the different women he has slept with/meets. It gets annoying and stale after a while.
I feel a big chunk of this probably could have been cut down. The plot doesn't really go anywhere until near the end. Most of the book is CM talking about all the women he has slept with, describing their bodies in kind of gross ways and then stringing along two women.
I'll be reading the second book to do a review on it.

Well, I guess I mis-read the blurb or something, this was totally not my thing, way too many women in this story for my enjoyment. I kept waiting for the good bit, nope, nothing that thrilled me. No disrespect to the author it was just not my thing. I'm not leaving a low star rating because this is my fault not the authors.
