A great beginning to A Range River Bounty Hunters Thriller that is gripping from page one. I compare it to going through a haunted house and not knowing what is behind the next door. Add the spark of blooming romance between Tanya and the bounty hunter that just happened to be Mr Popularity in high school and you have the ingredients for an entertaining read. Great characters and an interesting plot makes for a must read.
I won a copy of this book. The honest review and opinions are my own and were not required.

⭐️⭐️✨ (2.5)

lots of telling instead of showing in terms of how much our couple grew together and came to lean on one another. i know it’s a short book, but i’ve seen well developed characters in books with less- this one wasn’t a favorite. not the worst, but not necessarily one i’m dying to pick up again

Tanya is taking care of her nephew Calvin while her sister is on vacation. Dawn was supposed to get married and her fiance called it off. Now she was told to spend the money that they spent on the wedding however she wanted. So she took her bridesmaids on her "honeymoon".

While she was gone someone broke into Tanya's house and tried to kidnap Calvin. This is where Tanya meets Danny who is a bounty hunter. She also knew Danny from High School.

Talk about a book that will have you on the edge of your seat and keep you wanting to read more this is that book.

Whoa -- heart-in-throat opening scene kickstarts a tense, action-packed suspense and the relentless pace doesn't stop until the very end! Night has a way of creating the kind of ambiance that has a reader anticipating danger at every turn. Even her opening sentence, "The knocking at the front door was unexpected." gives off ominous vibes. And she's an amazing whiz at action scene choreography. I could see it all playing out in my mind -- every duck and dive and whizzing bullet. :-)

Danny and Tanya knew each other in high school. He was Mr. Popularity, she was not, so while they were aware of each other, their paths never really crossed until one fateful night when Tanya's home is invaded and...well, let's just say it's an intense meet-cute you'll want to read for yourself. Have some comfort chocolate and a teddy bear on hand to soothe sensitive readerly nerves!

Love the glimpse Night gives us into the inner workings of the Bounty Hunter profession and she's included a solid team of secondary characters who provide excellent backup for our hero and heroine, as well as the kind of camaraderie I love to find in my suspense novels. This is the first book in A Range Rive Bounty Hunters Thriller series and the second similarly themed series by this author and I'm definitely eager to read more!

My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Abduction in the Dark. This is the first book in the series Range River Bounty Hunters. I really enjoy Jenna's books, this one is no exception. It is well-written, action-packed, and full of intrigue. I know you are going to love it.

AccountantTanya Rivera is watching her nephew while her sister is in Cozumel. They had just got home when a man rang her doorbell. He said he had a pizza delivery for her but she didn't order pizza. The man forced his way into the house and told her they wanted the boy. Another man broke through the back door and stood over her nephew with a gun to his head. When a gust of wind blew the back door open both men were distracted, she yelled for her nephew to run. He took off.

Bounty Hunter Danny Ryan has been tailing his mark for three-quarters of an hour. He is now parked in front of a house wondering what is going on. As he went around the back of the house he heard the men shouting "Where is he?" Who? He heard a woman shouting on the phone"I won't wait." Danny came to her. "I want to help." He could see her fear. Then one of the men shouted "There he is"

A terrifying journey to protect the boy and to protect Tanya as she has seen their faces. They must find out why they want her sister and her son. God has a plan for these two; a plan for hope and a future. God has a plan for you too; a plan for peace and not for destruction even in this time of turmoil and war. Give Him your heart and watch Him work on your behalf.

It helps make the romance a touch more believable when the main characters know each other from the past, thereby giving them a little more of a base for their rapidly developing romance. It's also the first time any Love Inspired had anything different for a profession. The majority of them have the male as some sort of law enforcement or rancher/cowboy (to some degree). The women usually have a bit more range (mostly because their profession is completely unimportant to the overall plot).

It's also nice that instead of being the mother or the guardian or whatever, Tanya is just the good auntie, watching her nephew while his mother goes on vacation. She proves her chops When she repeatedly goes after the kidnappers in order to save her nephew. Refreshing. She's not a complete damsel in distress.

The writing was a bit more tell then show, but it's a pretty short book. The ending did feel a bit rushed, but all in all I actually enjoyed this more then any other 3 Love Inspired Suspense I read in the same campy trip, so it gets 4 stars.

I discovered this publishing series at my local used bookstore where someone brought dozens upon dozens of them for re-sale and got my hands on this one since it was April 2022 edition- this was truly such a wholesome read with plenty of suspense and interesting twists and turns. I do wish there was a bit more detail since some of the scenes did feel kinda vague and lacking the needed detail to really make you tense at the suspense- but other than that, great read!

Excellent. I immediately started book #2 and downloaded 3 & 4 to read afterward.

From the back cover: When kidnappers attempt to abduct her nephew, Tanya Rivera will do anything to protect him - even team up with bounty hunter Danny Ryan. But after Tanya unknowingly crosses the path of the criminal mastermind, she becomes the new target. With Danny by her side and her nephew finally safe elsewhere, it's a race to untangle the culprit's web before deadly danger catches up with them...

Cozy mystery! Tanya trying to figure out who would want to harm her or her nephew time after time and managing to fall in love with her bounty hunter. Did not expect to find out who was behind it, but I guess there wasn't too many suspects.

Gripping from cover-to-cover

Twists and turns, shocks and sadness, joy and justice. This book has it all. I was captivated from the start. The action continued with just enough calm for me to catch my breath before before things took off again.

I don’t quite know why I enjoy bounty hunter characters so much, but I just do. This one had plenty of action and clues to sort through alongside the characters plus a really well-done twist ending that I didn’t see coming.
