Bass and Julie should have been on their way to happily ever after. The Vikings had beaten back the Guzman cartel. Everything could finally return to normal.
That didn’t happen.
Because the FBI showed up and turned their whole world upside down.
Bass’s sister was murdered, and she left behind a gift—a set of them, actually—that will not only change everything about his life with Julie, but could also get them both killed.
Now, the Texas Syndicate is out for blood, new threats are coming at the MC every day, and time’s running out. The road ahead won’t be easy.
But Bass isn’t going to let his club—or the love of his life—go down without a fight…
***Be Forewarned:
These books contain violence and descriptions of illicit activities. If you enjoy sexy anti-heroes, fast-paced and action-packed storylines, and steamy love scenes these are the books for you! There are guaranteed happily ever afters for the characters, but the underlying storyline does continue from book to book and they do end in cliffhangers. It is recommended you begin reading with book one, Heart of Steel.
Cathleen Cole currently lives in Utah with her husband Frank, their six dogs, four goats, and flock of chickens. Cathleen and Frank have nomadic souls, so they don’t expect to be tied down to one place indefinitely.
Animals, dog sports, traveling, scuba diving, and everything books are just a few of Cathleen’s passions in life. She measures her quality of life based off the different experiences and adventures she gets to have.
You’ll see every book written by either Cathleen Cole or Frank Jensen will always credit the other as co-authors and that is because they use each other as sounding boards during their writing processes as well as they are each other’s main beta readers. As husband and wife, they insist on sharing all successes and failures equally.
What a phenomenal world I find myself in! each book seems to be getting better and better, well at least that’s my opinion…….
Let me reindicate how important it is to read the series in order since each and every book seems to have a huge cliffhanger …..
So in this installment we find ourselves once again back at the clubhouse with pretty much the whole gang …… plus a bunch of new characters from the Tucson chapter
This time around it is Tommy Higgins aka “Bass” and Julie Chen’s (“Jules) story and we find out more about Bass’s past
Tiffany is Bass’s older sister , and they have been a strange for over a year due to tiffany’s choice in her Lover……. Bass wanted so much more for his sister, due to the fact that she had been more of a mother to him than an older sister …. He knew that he had no right to tell her who she chose to bring into her bed but the man was a known gang banger..
Their last huge fight had rocked their relationship to its foundation and it’d been hard to accept the olive branch Tiffany extended to him
Bass is always kept his personal life close to his vest and never really sharing his past with anyone, now that was starting to catchup with him, since Jules feels shut out
I feel like this was a second chance for both Bass and Julie, let’s just hope that they can make this work this time around
I truly love how each and every member of this club and there are old ladies seem to have such amazing bond between them one suffers they all suffer 1 tragedy affects 1 the tragedy affects them all …… especially after all that Bass had endured in this installment
Am I upset about the huge cliffhanger, heck yeah……. Only reason why I am not complaining so much about it is due to the fact that the next installment is already out
Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Trope: Second chance Angst: 😰😰😰 Smexy: 🔥🔥🔥 Triggers: loss of a sibling, human trafficking
What a fantastic journey! Cathleen Cole gives us another wonderful chapter in the Vikings MC journey as well as lots of new characters. This time around we have Julie and Bass.. who have been living like a happy couple, but Bass has been holding back. Their relationship cracks are split open when tragedy strikes and Bass's life takes a big hit and he's left with a heavy responsibility and no great coping mechanisms. Some roads to happiness contains bumps and twists and turns... and sometimes it just needs a restart.
The writing in this story is just fabulous and I LOVE the characters. All of them - not just the heroine and hero. All the women in the story are serious #friendsgoals and all love and support each other independent of their relationships with the guys. Cathleen makes you need for her to crank out the books, just so you can get all the other character's stories too, lol. Great overarching storyline between the series and I love how there are future book bread crumbs tossed in there for you to find. I also really enjoyed how she made Bass grovel and really work for his forgiveness after being a jerk. Julie didn't just roll over (even if she kinda wanted to). Really excited to see where this series ends up!
Bass and Trouble is the 5th book in the Viking MC series by Cathleen Cole. It can be read as a standalone, but it is best read in series order. The couple gets their HEA, but he overarching story arc ends in a cliffy.
Epic is a word I'd use for this book! First 5 star read in this series, imo! The world these authors have created is phenomenal! You get all the feels, emotions, turmoil, sexy times along with roller coaster adventures! Oh my goodness did my heart break for Bass aka Tommy! Emotions, that's what this book will pull from you! So many emotions!! All the MC men and women are back along with some new characters. If your reading this review you had better listen and start with book one! Read in order! HUGE cliffhangers, continued characters and storylines! I really don't like agent Flynn so I'm hoping she doesn't get herself a biker! Sum it up this book is not about everyday hero's but the anti heroes the men and women who will fight, kick @$$ and kill for their friends and family! On the edge of your seat, read all night book lovers! Free with K. U.
In my opinion, Bass & Trouble is the most heartbreaking story in the series so far.
What a rollercoaster Julie and Bass's journey has been! Cathleen has an uncanny ability to pull the reader in. Our protagonists went through many trials, and I was there with them every step of the way, rejoicing through the ups and downs, eagerly turning the pages to learn more.
As always, the camaraderie between the side characters was a joy to read, and I can't wait to find out what the future holds for this MC as the series nears its completion.
Wow, this book had me in the edge of my seat. Bass has his nephews left to him when his sister is murdered. My heart broke for him when he pushed everyone away in his grief. Then he finally gets his head out of his a&& and works to get Julie back and to save his twin nephews from the syndicate that wants to kidnap them.
Amazing Story & Listen🎧 Gripping & Action Packed! Bass & Trouble The Vikings MC, Book 5 By: Cathleen Cole, Frank Jensen Narrated by: Allyson Voller, Tyler Darby
It is great to be back in “The Vikings MC” world again for another fantastic novel, a romantic suspense that is captivating from start to end. Each book in this series features a different member of the Vikings motorcycle club, but it is best to start the series from the beginning to get the most of the world building and the ongoing storylines that run throughout the series. Plus, characters reappear in each other’s books and knowing their backstory adds depth and seeing them again is like seeing an old friend. Besides, each book is just as amazing as the next and once you start it, you do not want to put it down and nothing else around you matters except what is going to happen next in the book. This fifth book brings is Tommy “Bass” Higgins and Julie “Jules” Chen’s story, and wow what a story it is. Bass always never really shared much about himself with Jules, and he gets even more closed off after he received news about her sister’s murder and finding out she made him the guardian of her twin boys. He was not dealing with her sister’s death or that he never got to make mends with her after their last disagreement. He is also over his head with caring for two infant boys, but the club kicks in and helps. The women are helpful and so is Julie, but he winds up pushing her away even more, until she has had enough and leaves him. Cade and the ladies set him straight, and he starts to get his act together, and he is determined to get Jules back and find his sister’s killers and what Flynn has to do with it all. Julie is interning at child protective services, which is helpful because they assigned a caseworker to followup on Bass and the twins. There is never a dull moment in this book, the writing, plotting and world building is fantastic, as is the character growth and development. I loved the complexity and layers of the story and ongoing storylines, which are intriguing and make you think what is really going on and leave you wanting to know more. Cathleen Cole and Frank Jensen, thank you for another amazing story and wild ride.
🎧📚🎧 And for the fantastic narration, Allyson Voller and Tyler Darby continue to do an amazing job bringing the characters and story to life. Their portrayal of the characters is spot-on, giving each their own distinct voice and personality that is both fitting and believable. They continue to set the perfect tone for the story, capture all the character’s emotions and have you feeling them all. These versatile voice artists are entertaining storytellers and their narration enhances an already great story to another level of greatness. Thank you for another amazing listen.
Another WONDERFUL story for this series! I just became invested in Bass from the last book. He is full of surprises and run a gambit of emotions. He and Julie have quite a ride and we got to tag along. I love the look into their relationship and other things. This one has a lot of new secrets that I was excited to learn about. We also get to see the full cast of previous characters as many make cameos. Plus we get a couple sneak peeks at another club that is connected to a member of the Vikings. So that is thrilling as it makes me wonder about another series coming (Squee!)
I listened to this on audio. Allyson Voller and Tyler Darby do an amazing job narrating this one! As mentioned above it is full of a lot of different characters and they both do an exceptional job on emotions and vocal inflections.
Bass and Julie were living life going through the motions until the twins showed up. Bass had a lot of things he needed to sort to be the man that the twins needed. This one was full of heartbreak and healing. It has action and solved some questions but left me with needing to know what comes next. I'm love this series and I'm trying so hard to wait for them all to release on audio and not run go read them! The narrators do a great job. If you love a good MC book then I think you'll love this series.
This was probably the saddest of the stories I’ve read thus far, but in the same breath bass and Julie were infuriating. I’m glad it ended how it did and their little family is already so full.
A perfect title for this book. Happiness and serious trouble all in one small package. I was sad for Bass but I loved how fiercely Julie stood up to him and tried to drag him back out of the slump he was in. This was like watch an action film.

* Bass's sister was murdered by the Texas Syndicate gang, she had twin babies. Bass and Julie are already a couple. When Bass's twin nephews are dropped off to him after his sister died, it was in her will that her kids go to her brother. None of the bikers know what to do with two babies. Zander and Wesley. 🔹“Why won’t he stop?” Steel asked in a panic- stricken voice. “I fed him. Burped him. Changed his shitty diaper. Why is he still crying?” Steel cuddled the baby to his chest and shot my mom a worried look.
Bass is suffering from grief of loosing his sister, and now the weight of taking care of two babies. He results to drinking, being angry and yelling at Julie, not sleeping in bed. When she tries to talk to him about it all he yells at her and tells her to leave. So she packs her stuff and leaves, and goes home to her mom and dad. 🔸I just wasn’t sure I was ready to admit— even to myself— that my relationship with Bass was over. My heart cracked and a single tear streaked down my cheek.
🔸 “I’ve told you everything about myself and I’ve never gotten that in return. I’ve given you all of myself that I can, and you haven’t reciprocated. It’s been fun, Bass. It really has, but that’s clearly all you want. Fun.” “The point is that you don’t share anything unless I force it. I’m done forcing you to do things you don’t want to do. You are the man you are, but I can’t be with that man.”
🔹 “I didn’t give you what you needed before; I wasn’t able to. I will from now on. I swear it.”
Bass & Trouble The Vikings MC, Book 5 By: Cathleen Cole, Frank Jensen Narrated by: Allyson Voller, Tyler Darby
Cathleen Cole and Frank Jensen keep pulling me into their Viking MC! Every book is original, each character exciting, but I do think this one has my heart. At least until the next one! Bass and Julie. What a fantastic couple! Jules is Ming's sister, and has had her heart stolen by the man. Yes, he can sing, but that is not the only attractive thing about him. He is sweet, and good looking, and knows how to make her happy. But he does all this without revealing much about himself. When his sister is murdered, Bass is given custody of her twins, and boy, did my heart melt when each and every member held them. But his grief got the best of him, pushing her away. Now, not only is he alone with the kids, but someone is trying to take them away! Fast paced, action filled, suspenseful, passionate, and oh so cute, this book is everything I love. Cole and Jensen give just the right amount of each, blending the story so my racing heart gets a break to hear Hush hold the kids! It's a fantastic addition to this series, and I cannot wait to hear the next one!
Allyson Voller and Tyler Darby continue their amazing narration of the series. I love when this happens, as each character I know still has the same voice I met them with, giving continuity and that feel like I know them. As Julie and Bass, these two are on fire! Passion and true compassion is felt throughout along with the building suspense. I loved this listen, and was lucky enough not to be interrupted too many times so I could enjoy it completely!
This is book 5 in author duo Cole and Jensen's addictive series The Vikings MC. A thrilling and captivating read / listen that is perfectly narrated by the dual talents of Voller and Darby - who more than bring our main characters Bass and Julie to life. I adore this series with a wonderful group of MC brothers who are not only bad @$$ but have hearts of gold too! The group of women who have bonded together not only make the brothers of this MC a little crazy but also find themselves in just as much trouble and danger as the guys. Julie and Bass have more than their share of chemistry, but relationships take more than just sex and these two are thrown into the deep end to find out if they have and want more than just the steam that's sustained them thus far. Thow in twin babies that will melt your heart and add some humor to these bikers and you have a wonderful read / listen that has everything you want and will still leave you wanting more as secrets are reveled only to have us all asking more. Can't wait to see which biker is next to fall victim to love and solve the mystery that surrounds this club!
This book was given to me for free at my request and I voluntarily provided this review. *this review is based on the audio version of this read.
This is the 1st book out of the series to infuriate me as much as it did. Even to a point I was guna DNF it lol.
Bass an Julie looked like they have the best relationship but cracks start showing and eventually they break open and it all comes to and end after Bass gets tragic news that leaves him with his sister's twin boys and alot of emotions he has no idea how to deal with.
I was very disappointed in bass and his actions. I understood a lot of what led to it. It was heartbreaking. Julie is such an amazingly strong woman. I'm so glad she put her foot down and told bass straight, and he fought for her and proved he could and would change for her. No relationship is with out it's bumps.
This book was a roller-coaster of emotions but definitely keeps you on ur toes. There were some amazing twists and turns. And I loved the new characters.
Picture a brother and sister not talking then all of a sudden two babies show up at your door step.
From the first page this books has your heart racing and holding your breath.
Brass now has the responsibility of 2 babes but he does a downward spiral because he does not handle emotions driving his girl Julie away. After getting his head out of his ass he realizes it maybe be two late. But he gets his act together and gets the girl. So much happens in this book.
Why would someone want to harm to innocent children? Sex trafficking? This books has it all. And the cliff hanger what does the FBI agent Flynn want and what is she hiding from Cade? So now you have to read to find the answers
I’ve started this series from book 5!!! I’m that bad but someone told it has a good grovel and here I am. It’s good, the separation took longer that I normally enjoy but the both mc are really good, adult and smart people! At the end of the book I was enthralled more about all the plot around the suspense part than anything and for me, it means I love the book, I’m gonna read the other books and the next!!! Hood series about an MC Club but they look more like vigilantes, It a similar series with Lost Boys from Janice Whiteaker, wich I highly recommend, very similar!
Safe book Separation bcs H is overwhelmed about his new life and grief No OM or OW drama Good sex scenes Suspense plot about sex trafficking Very interesting secondary characters

Bass was just a prospect when we first met him in this series and then became a fully fledged member of the Mc and his attraction to Julie had always been apparent but we only ever saw what was on the surface. This book explores him in a lot more detail and what makes him act how he does.
There was a lot of angst in this book and emotions too. I love the way that the author has managed to make the MC a real family atmosphere something which was only strengthened by the things that happened in this book.
I also enjoyed the introduction of some of the Tucson chapter in preparation for the next series once this one has finished.
This book kept you on your toes. Throw in some twin babies, a gang who wants them, add in other members of the club from a different chapter, and you got one heck of a story. Bass and Julie were great together until they weren't. Things changed for Bass when finding out his sister was murdered. He got his nephews, and now this gang is after then. These men and women fight tooth and nail for each other, and is perfect. The stories link together to give you the ultimate plot that your can't get enough of. Laughter, crying, worry, steamy sex, and chemistry off the charts.
What a crazy ride with curveballs galore as the tangled webs grow. Heartbreaking as secrets and gifts come to light when Bass is devastated with news of his sister's death...but healing and brighter days are on the horizon for him and Julie if they can make it through the trials and tribulations. Action, danger, and edge of your seat suspense to keep you on your toes as we follow our loved characters and are introduced to new characters I can't wait to learn more about. Narration brings the story from the pages, and I can't wait to listen to Riggs and Cade's stories.
Bass and Julie story is heartwrenching, action packed, on the edge of your seat excitement. Bass learns to man up and become the person the twins need. Julie surprised me how bad@ss and strong she becomes. I love camaraderie between the different chapters of the MC clubs that come to their aid, when they are in danger. This story is intense, steamy, danger and secrets. I can't wait to see what's coming next in this amazing series. Allyson Voller and Tyler Darby narration brings this series to life. Their performance is emotional and very well done. #PinkFlamingoProductions #TheFlockonTour
This is the fifth book in this phenomenal series and this is Bass and Jules 's story. This is a well written flawless story which is intriguing, and with witty banter, suspense, mystery, twists, danger, loss, grieving, healing, and love which all leads to a riveting and emotional roller coaster. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
Bass (MMC) has had such a rough go, and in this book things get turned up side down again for him. Jules (FMC) proves she is just as kick butt as the rest of the girls and then some. This book had me tearing up, and griping my kindle tighter at twists and turns. I truly love this series and recommend it. 4.5/stars TW/18+
Finally getting Julie and Bass’s is exciting. Plus you add in the twins and their story is pure love. Yes they had their issues but seeing Bass finally opening up emotionally to Julie made me fall in love with him. This wasn’t my favorite story of Vikings MC series but I’m glad it is finally leading to Riggs and Anna’s story.
This is a great MC story. Action and mystery galore. In this one they find who is after the boys, which old guy has come back to wreck havoc, and bust up a criminal ring. Exciting goings on while a romance blossoms. I can’t wait for the next one. HEA, no cheating and a little MC business cliffhanger but it does not involve the highlighted couple. Good read. Enjoy
Absolutely awesome book! I loved watch Bass grow and the love that was buried deep, finally let out. These characters are so well rounded and this books storyline was so deep and detailed. The action was well paced and I can't wait to read the next installment of this amazing series.
“It’d be fun to see, but we won’t be letting anyone get near them,” Priest promised, his gaze straying up to where Jenny was standing with our crew. She was part of our group now and Cade hadn’t been willing to let her go home where Hinton or the Syndicate might be able to find her alone and vulnerable.
This book in the series is about Bass and Julie and their love story and how they cope with the trials and successes of their relationship including loss and gain. I cried with the characters. And laughed as well. I am enjoying this series and I'm ready to move on to the next member of the club.
The story about how bass came to be a father was heart felt. The inner demons he was fighting in the beginning of the book vs where him and Jules are at the end they can move mountains together . The end of the story is a heart clincher.
