The story is set in 1944 Germany during WWII. A german couple house a young Jewish teenager who escaped Poland. The book is a perfect intro into the Holocaust because it does not go into too much detail. Still, the book may be too much for most elementary students.

Excellent book that provoked my 7 year old son to ask more questions about the period of time and grow in his knowledge.

This book is about the Holocaust and how a young girl escapes from the Nazis. Very sweet and informative without delving into too many details.
