She refuses to be tied down, but he plans to change her mind...
Opposites attract, which is exactly why Meade Forbes has zero interest in the uber-smart Ryder. Reading thesis papers and watching documentaries on astrophysics is for her own private time and not to be shared with a man. When she's ready to play, she wants to clear her busy brain and drown in muscles and nonsense. Not to mention Ryder is a single dad. Meade is completely ill-equipped to be a mother figure to a teenage girl. Despite the fact that Meade's in her mid...okay, late thirties, she still hasn't figured out what she wants to be when she grows up. Her job pouring cocktails on the beach suits her just fine for now.
Ryder needs to quit thinking he's found his soulmate. And he also needs to stop making her want to try him on for size for just one night.
Rosemary Beach Kisses is book six in the Love Along Highway 30A series, which features beautiful beach communities, a circle of unique and amazing friends, and romances that will have you cheering on the couples and fanning yourself from the heat. All books are standalone and can be enjoyed in or out of order.
Melissa Chambers writes contemporary novels for young, new, and actual adults. A Nashville native, she spends her days working in the music industry and her nights getting lost in her characters. While she’s slightly obsessed with alt rock, she leaves the guitar playing to her husband and kid. She never misses a chance to play a tennis match, listen to an audiobook, or eat a bowl of ice cream. (Rocky road, please!) She’s a member of several online and local writers groups, all of which she treasures and is unendingly grateful for, and has served as president for the Music City Romance Writers. She is the author of the Love Along Hwy 30A series, the Destiny Dunes series, the Before Forever series (YA), Courting Carlyn (YA), and Two Boy Summer (YA).
I haven't read the other books in this series but you can without getting lost. Meade Forbes has no interest in getting to know Ryder. She likes her life the way it is doing what she wants when she wants. Going from job to job because she doesn't know what she wants to do with her life. She's been a lawyer but didn't like it . She super smart but can't figure out what she wants to do. So living at the beach and being a bartender works for her. Ryder is a single father with a teenage daughter who likes Meade but Meade likes her life with no complications. Can Ryder change her mind? This book takes place in a beach community with some great friends and romance that will have you cheering them on.
This is a good book about not making assumptions about people you do not know. Maede makes a lot of assumptions about Ryder, his daughter, and his life that are not true once she gets to know him. I was able to jump right into this world and these characters without feeling like I was missing anything
This was a great and easy read! I love this series and didn't think the author was continuing so I was pleasantly surprised when I was notified of this book. I read this one quickly and enjoyed it! This story follows Meade and Ryder an unlikely pair who connect over books. They soon realize that even though they are very different that might just be what attracts them to each other!
This is the first book I have read in this series. Meade was an interesting character who was trying to find her place in life. She was super smart, had very strong opinions, and had bounced from being a lawyer, to working on a cruise ship, to being a bartender on a beach and was thinking of moving to Texas next,
It was funny how she became interested in Ryder, who volunteered at the library where his teenage daughter worked. He was a nerdy, marine biologist and a single dad and definitely not Meade's type of guy to date. Meade and Ryder's daughter seemed to hit it off, especially since Meade was able to help her with her calculus homework when Ryder could not. Meade was really able to relate to the fifteen year old girl.
I liked reading to see what would happen to Meade and Ryder since they seemed so good together. That kept me quickly turning the pages. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
This is a new-to-me series by Ms.Chambers, and I love it!
I appreciate the main characters being older than 30, and the idea of Meade being scary-smart. Ryder is sweet and caring, and so very intentional about his relationships. It doesn't hurt that he has an interesting job, a secure future, and an adorable teenage daughter. I like the concept that you can really love a topic or field, but not want to actually be employed in that field so it stays fresh and fun, not a duty.
I have this series bookmarked to add to my permanent library as my budget permits.
I received an ARC copy of this story from the author via BookFunnel and voluntarily chose to share my review.
Ryder, single dad to Anabella, positive and comfortable with his life. Attracted to Meade, but she is reluctant to date family man, preferring no commitments. Meade is an ex lawyer who being disappointed with her situation adopted a more free lifestyle, from job to job and now working in a bar and living by the beach. Will Ryder be able to get through to her and encourage her that they can settle together; will Meade recognise her true position and best place she is seeking in right in front of her.
Meade is a super smart person that loves anything that has to do with astrophysics. She works as a bartender on the beach so when she wanted to, she could move on to someplace else. Ryder is a marine biologist with a 15 year old daughter. As they fall for each other, will she figure out what she really wants to do with her life before it is too late.
The characters are good and so is the story. But I've read better, even from this author. I did enjoy it, but part of me just didn't connect to it, not like some of her other books. The two find themselves attracted to the other but they aren't each other's usual type. And she definitely doesn't normally want a single dad. But it turns out, meeting them is the best thing to happen to her. The end was really good, even if I wasn't connecting in the beginning.
*I'm leaving an honest and voluntary review after receiving this as an ARC.
Just like every other Melissa Chambers book I have read, I could not put this one down!! It was so good!!
Meade is the brainiac of the group of friends along highway 30A and she finds herself intrigued with a friend of Desiree's, Ryder with a Y. Little did she know that he might end up being the one that will get her to find her true passion in live and in love.
Ryder has a teenage daughter and has had relationships in the past, but Meade is someone different. He connects to her and so does his daughter, whom has not really connected with anyone he has dated in the past.
Ryder and Meade has a back and forth sort of thing going on and Meade doesn't fully trust her feelings and does not really want to be a mom, but is so drawn to Ryder and his daughter Annabelle that she ends up falling hard and deep.
Meade has been poached by a billionaire to help him get civilians up into space and she keeps turning him down, until finally she caves and goes out to Texas and leaves all that she loves behind. She has to do this for her, even though she really didn't want to go, however it was a blessing in disguise since she found her true calling and what she was meant to do with her life. But is it too late to get Ryder back into her life? Did that bridge get burned too much or just slightly charred?
I loved this book in the series. It was a sexy, fun read and I can't wait for the next book and Felicity finding her love along Highway 30A!
Meade is happy with the life she has even though others think she is wasting her talents. She isn't interested in dating anyone, especially someone who has a child. That is until Annabella and Ryder make their way past the walls around her heart. As the story progresses, Meade eventually finds out where her heart lies - both on a personal and a professional basis.
This was again a fun read... little anxious moments but true love prevailed. Looking forward to Melissa' s next in the series. Think I will see what other series she's written...Very talented lady.
