Moorecliff Manor Cat #4

Lifeless in the Library

Araminta Moorecliff and her mystery solving siamese cats, Arun and Sasha, are at it again when the Moorecliff Manor annual charity cat show turns deadly.

With a house full of finicky felines and cat fanciers, it’s not going to be easy to figure out who done it. At least this time we know it’s not the butler.

Lifeless in the Library is Book 4 in the Moorecliff Manor Series by Leighann Dobbs.

This was such a fun book! I really LOVE older sleuths and this book hits all the marks for me of a well written mystery with wonderful characters.

Ararminta is hosting a cat show at the Moorecliff Manor. As a cat lover and mystery lover this book was so good and so much fun!

One of the contestants is murdered and Araminta along with Jacob, her retired detective friend investigates to see who the murderer is after one of their friends is arrested.

This was such a clever mystery with the addition of not just Arun and Sasha, Araminta's Siamese cats but also the other cats at the show.

I LOVED every minute of this book. I highly recommend reading this entire series!!!!

Its absolutely PURRRfect!!!

I love this series! Araminta is such an interesting protagonist - her mannerisms, her home, her family and friends, and her cats! I love the way with the help of the cats, that she investigates and uses her instincts to solve these crimes. If you like to read about strong women who use their intelligence and instincts to solve crimes, then you should read this book. I would recommend that you read the first book in the series first though,
Dead In The Dining Room (A Moorecliff Manor Cat Cozy Mystery Book 1). You’ll enjoy getting to know her, her family and friends and it will set the stage for the books that follow.

Araminta Moorecliff is hosting the 5th Annual Cat Show at Moorecliff Manor. There are a number of cats in attendance including Araminta's Siamese cats, Sasha and Arun. Things are going smoothly until Trinity, the maid, discovers the body of Nina Bellaforte, the owner of a Russian Blue, Zsa Zsa. When their friend Daphne Burgess is arrested for the murder, Araminta and her retired detective friend, Jacob Hershey, begin trying to find the real killer.
There are many twists and turns in the story. Sasha and Arun try to point out clues to Araminta in hopes she will understand.
It's always a contest between Araminta and Jacob to see who finds the killer first. There are several suspects.
I always enjoy Leighann Dobbs books and this series is just one of them. If you love mysteries, great characters and cats, this book is for you.
I received an advance copy of this book. This is my honest opinion.

Another intriguing case for Araminta and the cats!

I love this series. Araminta tries to crack this new case with the help of the cats, who are, needless to say, much smarter than any human could ever be. This classic whodunit was clever and fun! In these classics, it’s always the butler who did it, right? No, wrong! When I say classic whodunit, I don’t mean the cats, because they have their own sub-chapters and that is what sets this series apart, what makes it unique! Oh yes, if you like mysteries-with-a-twist, if you like cats helping out, you’ll love this great book for sure!

Quote from Arun the cat ““Humans are so strange,” Arun added.” LOL!

Araminta Moorecliff is holding the fifth annual Moorecliff Manor Cat Show. The show takes a turn for the worse when gum is found in Jasmine's fur. Jasmine is one of the contestants favored to win the show. The discovery is made shortly before the first round of judging is scheduled to start.

As the second round of judging is getting ready to start, one of the contestants was nowhere to be found. Nina was found in the library and she was quite dead!! There was also an interesting item on the floor near the body - an open book about Cat Breeds.

Who killed Nina? Why was she killed? Why was the book on the floor? Is it a clue to the murder? Can Araminta and her cats, Sasha and Arun, unravel the mystery?

Leighann Dobbs has another wonderful story with plenty of twists and turns to keep the reader engaged clear to the end. The characters are wonderful, the situations are very realistic, and the mystery will keep the reader fully engaged all the way through.

Always a good whodunit

As I have read all the books in this series (up to this one), I must say. None of them have ever disappointed me. The characters are well drawn out, the mystery is always just that...a mystery. Right up until the end. Nice, quick read with great atmosphere and people who populate each story.
I highly recommend these very fun reads.

This series is totally the cat's pajamas!

I love this series! Each mystery has me glued to each page until the end. The cats are a delight! Sorta reminds me of The cats who series by Lillian Jackson Braun. Only with a female lead. I enjoyed the story line very much. This in a fascinating series and I can't wait for the next book to come out!!

Araminta Moorecliff is hosting her 5th Annual Moorecliff Manor Cat Show when Nina Bellaforte, who has a gorgeous Russian Blue Zsa Zsa entered in the event, turns up dead in the library. The police arrest Daphne Burgess but Araminta doesn't believe for a minute that she did it, and the evidence is all circumstantial so Araminta and Jacob, her retired detective friend, to find the real killer. Of course Araminta's Siamese cats Sasha and Arun are there to help sniff out the clues.

This was the perfect cozy mystery to read after a couple of super suspenseful books. I love the boldly dressed amateur sleuth and her cats. There were several suspects and it took Araminta a little while to figure out who the killer was and the motive for the murder. Of course Sasha and Arun helped. This novella can be read in a couple of hours and a fun way to spend an afternoon. This is a fun series and I'm already looking forward to the next book.

Lifeless in the Library is the fourth in the Moorecliff Manor Series by Leighann Dobbs.
This episode has Ararminta hosting a cat show at her inn. Unfortunately, one of the contestants is murdered and were not sure why. When her friend Daphne Burgess is arrested for the murder, Araminta, aka Minta and her retired detective friend, Jacob Hershey, along with the cats begin to investigate the death.

There are plenty of twists and turns keep the reader interested. I enjoy the healthy completion between Minta and Jacob in trying to solve the mystery first. Another great aspect is the quirky and well-developed characters. I am looking forward to my next visit.

I was given and advanced copy and these are my own unsolicited opinions.

Another fun story from Leighann Dobbs.
Araminta and the Morecliff Manor are hosting a charity cat show with a nice prize for the winner.
With the inclusion of a couple of unusual breeds entered this time, it's just a matter of time before there's trouble afoot.

Araminta, along with Jacob, the retired detective's input, and the unenlisted help of the resident housecats input.
It's just a matter of time before the crime is solved.

Lifeless in the Library (Moorecliff Manor Cat #4) — Leighann Dobbs/Narrator: Hollis McCarthy (22 chapters) June 11, 2023

These stories follow the semi-serious cozy mysteries of the Moorecliff clan, with the matriarch, Araminta, the head protagonist.

In this story, the Moorecliff Manor is turned into a cat show for charity. When one of the cat’s homan dies, it’s up to the cats, Arun and Sasha, to lead Araminta to the clues to help solve the case.

Awesome narrator; quick listen; quirky plot by one of my all-time favorite authors.

And…. CATS! Cats are solving crimes! Cats are conversing with each other. And did I mention…. CATS?

Four stars.

Hooray! A cat show! What could possibly go wrong?

Moorecliff Manor is hosting the 5th annual cat show to support the local animal shelter. Cats of all shapes and colors and breeds and their owners are taking part. However, the cats are better-behaved than their owners, one of whom turns up dead. It’s up to Araminta and her friend Jacob to solve the clues and save the day!

Cats, cats and more cats

Neither Arminta nor Jacob could make heads or tails of the clues. With help from the cats they found enough additional information to piece what really happened together and solve the murder.

Just when the Moorecliff family thought everything was finally settling down another mystery! Why does this keep happening to them? But everyone is certain that Araminta can solve it, all but her that is.

interesting story

I enjoy Ms Dobbs’s series but had trouble getting into this one. The characters were interesting as was the premise. It just moved very slowly for me.

Never a dull moment for the cats and Minta. I'm really enjoying this series, which room will there be a body next. Excellent added audible narration.

Murder at a cat show! Not a typical cat show, but a fundraiser for the local shelter. Definitely didn't see that result!

I was a bit surprised when the cats started talking to each other and were able to understand the humans, and of course, helped solve the mystery. It was a fun, quick read though.
