“This book is brilliant. It’s a game changer!! It has made me think more than any other book I’ve read, and made me ask so many questions. I can already tell that I’m having better, more open conversations with my teenager and really strengthening an already great relationship. This is just the start and it’s very exciting. Thanks again for writing such an amazing and life changing book.”

"This book is amazing. No other mindfulness or 'self help' content has ever stuck with me as much as this book. It can be easy to read tips about how to live a better life and then revert to old habits as soon as you're done. But this author doesn't give you tips; he has laid out clear, meaningful tools to really help you understand what YOU can do to improve your experiences. Congratulations on writing a book that will change lives."

The strength of Steve’s Chamberlain’s ON PURPOSE lies in the width of its lens. His focus is not restricted to confidence, mindset, escaping your comfort zone, or any other single aspect of the subject – it’s a 360 degree sweep of the key areas we need to consider to get ourselves on track, and keep us there.

The text moves seamlessly from the author's candid reflections on his own experience, to sensitively shared examples from his clients, and then points the focus squarely on the reader. We are challenged every step of the way. "Where are you currently playing small in your life - and what's the cost of doing so?" The author doesn’t tell us what to do – he invites us to engage fully with the process – and it’s precisely this effort required of us that ensures that we’re invested in the outcome for our personal lives.

Steve Chamberlain's work is values-driven. This is the starting point and lodestar which guides the direction of travel. He dedicates the early stages of the book to uncovering our personal core values. Once we've established these, we're encouraged to dig deeper, beyond the words, to define what they mean to us as individuals. Some of the work at first appears counter-intuitive - for example, the goal isn't to "avoid suffering", but to discover which values we're compromising, which is what's causing the suffering. It's this clarity of vision which creates light bulb moments in the reader.

As the title suggests, the aim of ON PURPOSE is to empower us to identify our life's purpose, and to harness our strengths, passions and values to achieve our potential. It's also about living "on purpose", intentionally, making deliberate choices rather than allowing "I should" and "I have to" to dictate our actions. Vitally, at every turn our focus is brought back to the present moment. Mindfulness is a major theme running throughout the book. As a life coach, Steve Chamberlain helps his clients work towards a brighter future, but the answer is always in the here and now. His background in psychology and fascination with how the mind works provide a compelling thread pulling all the elements together.

The author's voice is authentic - the result of having overcome the challenges he writes about. At a time when, more than ever, we're aware of the unpredictability of life and the need to make a positive contribution to our communities, he encourages us to "ask each day, where can I add value?". This book offers a clear and optimistic path to fulfillment, whatever our stage in the journey.

Steve in person is an inspirational and brilliant coach and I am so impressed that he's so successfully translated his skills into an easy to read book that's accessible by anyone.

On Purpose helps you to understand what really matters to you (and just you!) and then clearly guides and supports to make choices, and a plan, to live in alignment with the life that you want to lead. Simply gaining a true understanding of my values, and using them as the basis for all my decision making, has been revolutionary for me personally and he's covered off knowing yourself by the end of Chapter 1! Throughout the rest of the book Steve provides plenty of food for thought alongside practical support that I found invaluable.

This is an amazing book and so if you've stumbled on this review my advice is to buy a copy! :)
