Have you recently purchased the kalimba or are considering purchasing one but are clueless about how to make the most of it by playing different songs effortlessly?
And are you looking for a guide that will streamline the learning process, so you don’t feel clueless any step of the way and instead feel so confident that you can play different songs effortlessly?
If you’ve answered YES, The kalimba is taking over the world for a reason – it has a nice-looking compact design and shape, is small enough to carry around (or even fit on a child’s lap), and can produce spectacular notes that some larger musical instruments cannot even match.
But how do you get started? How different is it from other musical instruments - does it have sharps and flats? Is it easy to learn? Is it really possible to learn to play any song with kalimba? Can you get easy-to-play songs to get started with?
You are about to discover answers to these and other related questions in this book so keep reading. Even if you are new to all musical instruments, this book will prove very helpful in helping you start with one of the coolest instruments today!
Several reviewers have mentioned that this book contains a great deal of history technique and different types of Columbia information. As a history and technical guide it's informative but it really won't teach you much about how to play the kalimba. It contains perhaps two songs throughout the entire book . One might wonder what it would have taken to have included a couple of dozen songs to make the book more useful to beginners.
Lots of unnecessary information for a beginner eager to get started playing the kalimba. I found it tedious. The last thing you want to know when learning to play any instrument is the history of it, accompanied by many pages on all the different types and detailed associated technical terms. Definitely not an encouraging book.
