Randy Wolff provides a great overview of some of the personal and church/corporate aspects of discipleship. I really appreciated his blend of theory and practical. He clearly wants to provide some practical tools to help leaders and churches to move forward in terms of discipleship.

The topics that are addressed are excellent but it is clear that this is an "overview" or introduction to the topics. It would be great to see some followup books that dig deeper into the various areas of discipleship. For example, a book on the development of a prayer culture within a church could be very helpful.

In addition, I would have appreciated a chapter that really digs into the biblical foundations of discipleship. However, overall I found that this book outlines some excellent and achievable ways to begin maximizing discipleship within a church.

I’m really glad I read this book! Randy Wolff brings a concise, extremely well thought through, foundation laying work for maximum discipleship in the church. I found that I was picking up some very useful practical ideas for implementation along with the well thought through theory side. I would love to have seen more stories or even, a chapter or two from a church that lived this out to help it live and breathe a little more, but what an excellent, easy to read strategic book for discipleship. I could definitely see myself also bringing some of my key leaders through this book.

A great workbook for a church leadership team to go through, sampling different topics for self-evaluation and strategic growth. It is well-balanced and points its readers to more resources if they wish to go deeper.
