Fun story for beginning readers. Buddy goes to the fair with his family and really wants a hot dog. He is told no but returns to the stand and barks loudly. He saves the day as he noticed the stand had caught on fire. Plenty of action for young readers.
Much like Scholastic Reader Level 1: Bob Books #3: My School Trip uses sight and sounds, Scholastic Reader Level 1: BOB Books: Buddy to the Rescue also uses the senses, especially smell. A great descriptive way to teach something in a book more than just reading. This book features both Jack and Anna as well as their dog Buddy and their family at the fair. Once again fun and vibrant illustrations holding a great tool for early readers. Varying sentence lengths and interesting.

This is another of the Level 1 readers in the BOB Books series. My children love these books. The illustrations are consistently fun and done with a very bright pallet. In this particular story a fair has come to town. Anna and Jack and their parents go. But buddy the dog keeps wanting to go to the hot dog stand. Little do they know Buddy has detected a problem and soon he alerts them all and is the hero of the day. Another great book in an amazing series of readers for young children.
This book is great, I have read this book at 30 times in one week. My two boys has memorized the entire story. I also ask questions for comprehension, they use the illustrations which are great for context clues.
