Enzo and Sofia were childhood sweethearts and their story was intriguing, suspenseful, romantic and hold my interest. Secrets, revelations, danger and action were starring in this story.

The mafia politics were very interesting and there was a rat in the picture, not disclosed yet, although I have a suspicion... 🧐(🍎?)
There was also a mystery in this story, with another character-Elena, and I would like to find out how it will unravel...😱

Although it can be read as a standalone, it would be preferable to read the first part beforehand, there is a basic plot unfolding through the journeys of the couples.

Second book into this amazing series and Ms. McKinley has hit it out of the park again!!! Blood Oath is the second fantastic book in the Mafia Elite series by Amy McKinley. As with the first book, this is a brilliant mafia romance- a romantic suspense story with an action-packed plot, secrets, dramatic developments, mafia politics, intrigue, tension, chemistry, steamy encounters, emotion, and more…
This book continues what we started in book one, but this is Sofia and Enzo’s story (whom we met in book one as supporting characters). I loved all the interconnected details and intriguing threads that Ms. McKinley is weaving through her stories, and series. It makes for riveting reading. I have a new addiction and I can’t wait for my next fix!!!
Seriously, if you love mafia romance, and/or romantic suspense, then you definitely won’t want to miss this exciting story/series!!!

Having read No Way Out I instantly started looking forward to this second installment! I picked this one up as soon as i could and got right back into the Mafia Elite world quickly. I ended up reading it in one sitting. I enjoyed this second book!

Enzo and Sofia's journey isn't an easy one. I really liked how these two had history. From start to finish i felt so many things with both of them! I really enjoyed the way their story kept me on my toes and glued to my kindle.

With Blood Oath, Ms.McKinley has created such a good read that will pull you in! I am so looking forward to more of the Mafia Elite world in book three, Born In Darkness!

Blood Oath by Amy McKinley is the second book in the Mafia Elite Series. This book centered on Sofia and Enzo. They have always been drawn to each other even when they were kids. When the park they were playing at was attacked, Enzo was there to help Sofia to safety. The two of them made a blood oath then and there with Enzo promising to always be there for Sofia to keep her safe. Of course life has a way of making things difficult and circumstances pull them apart. When Sofia seems to be in the line of sight of a terrible man named Ivan, Enzo must be the one to keep her safe! I loved the fist book in this series but the story of Sofia and Enzo is amazing! Can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

I just LOVE LOVE LOVE this series. This is the 2nd book to the Mafia Elite series and it does not disappoint. Enzo and Sofia are best friends since childhood and their feelings for each other were always strong. When tragedy struck, Enzo distanced himself from Sofia, but only to protect her, even from himself.

Things get very tense when Sofia is threatened by Ivan, whom is part of the Russian Bratva. He is ruthless and cunning and only wants to "break" Sofia. Enzo will do anything to make sure Sofia stays safe. Will Enzo save Sofia when she needs him the most?

There are some deep secrets in this story along with some very intense shootout and rescue scenes. I was at the edge of my seat just nervous and tense to find out what will happen next. This story is truly great. I am so looking forward to book #3. Thank you Author Amy McKinley!! Love this book!

Love and Secrets, Wow oh Wow! If you like Mafia, you will love this book. Enzo Vitale and Sofia La Rosa played together as children, she's always loved him. He's the perfect Mafia man and she's a gorgeous Fashion Designer. Now they are grown and danger is ever present and she has a big secret. I was lured in from the beginning of this story until the last word. It's intense waiting for the next situation to unveil. Amy McKinley did a fabulous job intertwining all the characters in this story. I love this series! Read it today!

This was another page turning addition to this thrilling series, this author has definitely found her groove within the mafia genre and I hope for many more book like this.
Yet again I was captivated from cover to cover, unable to look away while blood was shed and more secrets were uncovered.
Absolutely adored this couple, they have a tough fight to be together, will they clear all their obstacles and find a way?
So many different story threads are woven within this series and I can't wait to see what happens when the next one is pulled.
Like the first book I definitely recommend.

Loved Loved this book. Amy McKinley has done an amazing job with this book series. I was already checking for book 3 (which comes out in Dec 2021). I can not wait. I want it now. This book is the story of Enzo and Sofia and wow what a bang. I was so happy at times and so angry at others. Amy McKinley keeps you on your toes and hoping everyone will be alright when crazy Ivan of the Russian Mafia has his sights set on Sofia. You want to hide her away and keep her safe. She is determined to be at her fashion show debut. Secrets are revealed from the past. Will everything be ok or will it blow up Sofia’s world. THIS IS A MUST READ.

I really enjoyed Enzo and Sofia's story. These two have such a history together. Being together is definitely not easy for these two. This book is packed with action.

This amazing author has done it again! I loved the first one in this series, and this one was certainly no different! I was so excited to read this novel, and I could not contain my excitement! The first book in the series I found shared a lot of back story and certain traits and those very traits came to light when reading this one! I was so hooked and the suspense as well as romance was real and truly addictive!

This one we follow mainly Sofia, (I loved her character by the way) she is living what she always wanted and that is to be a Fashion Maker/Designer. I mean this girl worked hard for it right, I mean nothing is going to come up that could potentially get in her way now would it? Throw in Enzo, very close best friend, who has the affection for Sofia as she does for him. Best friend, but dare not be lovers as they know their places in life, and that is a rule that must not be broken. Enzo is her protector though and will stop at nothing to keep her out of harm's way. As the past resurfaces from the ground, Sofia is pushed into Enzo's arms. Sadly, will he keep her safe even when her past comes up and stands between them?

For me it was not only the main characters, as well as the side characters that made the story. It was the suspense and how everything you want is here, but what did you do to get where you are? Was it worth the spot light knowing you still could lose it all? The passion was very real as much as the suspense, and this novel with the dangers and fighting to live, fighting to love, and fighting to see another day was a strong appeal for me in this novel. I was completely engulfed as I was reading and I wanted to know more and more and I could not stop reading seriously! It was very much well written! Amazing read!

In conclusion, I could say I was breathless as if I was running from a crime scene myself. Fear of what would come of Enzo and Sofia not only for their lives, but also for the very possibility of them being together with all surrounding them was constantly at stake, and I kept hoping for a positive outcome! I loved the writing, the story was amazing. Defiantly a must read and high recommendation from me!

Enzo Vitale is the Underboss in a branch of the Chicago Mafia, he is the heir to the throne and as such, has a large target on his back and is surrounded by danger at all times, but it also means that he is left alone by the authorities because of his blood. Sofia La Rosa is a Mafia Princess who is surrounded by friends and family who love her and will do anything for her, but she is also faced with danger because of this. Her best friend has always been Enzo from a very young age and they know that they would do anything for the other, but everything which seems clear cut as a child, isn’t that always way in adulthood.

Sofia is a fashion designer and one day as she is working in her studio in preparation for her first fashion show during Fashion Week, she is confronted with an unexpected and disturbing sight, this leaves her on edge, even though her best friend who has come to see her is pretty oblivious to the danger. She calls her brother and tells him what is going on, however, they are overprotective of her and soon give her orders to stay where she is until some guards arrive to escort her sagely home, she is annoyed, but understands, so she packs everything she will need up and prepares to go home. Enzo finds out about what happened at the studio and cannot believe what he has heard, he thought that Sofia was safe there and is now worried about her safety, he has tried to keep his distance, but she makes it harder for him at every turn, even though it is the last thing he wants to do.

As the next few days pass and Sofia and her friends try and figure out why this new danger is here and what it means for the present and the future, Sofia hopes it isn’t related to a past event which she has had to swear secrecy about, but as time progresses, she realises that it is indeed that. The danger increases around Sofia as she tries to regain some semblance of normality and because of this she is thrown towards Enzo and despite his best attempts, he cannot deny her anything, however, he is holding onto secrets of his own. Will these secrets destroy everything that Sofia and Enzo have worked towards on their own paths, or will they explode and rip the two best friends apart? This is a battle of past and present to secure a future where nothing is certain and trust is hard to find, earn and be earned as this mafia romance violently flies through from one event to the next in a flurry of action packed storytelling until the conclusion is reached.

Sofia La Rosa is excited about featuring her designer clothing in Milan. While altering Eva’s dress, the mention of Ivan Pavlov being in town catches her attention. When Sofia questions Eva, her cousin shifts the conversation to Enzo Vitale. Sofia has always wanted to be in a relationship with Enzo since childhood. Unfortunately, Enzo was in an arranged marriage contract to Elena Caruso. Elena, presumed dead after an abduction which included Emiliano Vitale, couldn’t possibly fulfill the contract. Enzo assumed that he was now free of the contract and could pursue Sofia, since he had the same feelings. After seeing how his younger sister didn’t seem to recover emotionally from her traumatic ordeal, Enzo has attempted to distance himself from Sofia. In his mind, if she was with him, she would become a target. Discovering Ivan Pavlov has set his sadistic sight on Sofia, Enzo becomes determined to protect her. Why is Ivan pursuing her? Sofia knows the answer, but revealing the secret could drive Enzo further away.

I thoroughly enjoyed this Mafia romance novel. It picked up from the first book No Way Out, yet has the ability to be a standalone novel as well. The shift between Sofia and Enzo’s thoughts seamlessly transition well. The ending adds a suspense element that I feel I know the answer to, but I will only find out by reading the sequel. I highly recommend this 5-star novel to anyone that likes a good romance with the addition of a danger element. What secret does Sofia have that Ivan wants the answer to? Why is the Russian Mafia targeting the Chicago Italian Mafia?

To start this off, I would like to say that I absolutely loved the way the title of this novel is incorporated into the story surrounding Sofia and Enzo, it just makes what it stands for so much more! It’s no secret that Amy McKinley has quickly become one of my favourite authors, and I will be setting out to read all her of her adventures. Typically, my problem with this genre is that there are so many people that you must keep track of, that it takes away from the enjoyment of immersing one’s self into a literary work of art. This is not an issue with Ms. McKinley’s writing at all, especially since you get to know different members within the Five Families of the Italian American Mafia in the first installment.

Overall, Sofia and Enzo’s love story, gave me chills. You cannot help but root for them after all they have been through together, the secrets, the fear, and the hesitation they’ve both held onto for so many years. All this impacting not only their chance for true happiness and love together, but for their friendship that they’ve had for as long as they can remember. Her writing and her ability to allow you to connect with most of the characters that make up the novel, as well as making your mind work, is out of this world. I’m going to be racking my brain until our next adventure, fingers and toes crossed that we find out who the rat is in the Five Families sooner, rather than later. As always, highly recommend and will be reading the third installment “Born in Darkness” ASAP.

I loved reading this story! There were lots of things that were uncovered...and many more still to be revealed and I’m eagerly looking forward to reading what happens next!

I loved Sofia and Enzo...fact I think Enzo is my favourite-so far...I loved Sofia and how resourceful, strong and determined she was as a character. From the steamy to the sassy...all action packed...bring me more!

This is a full novel, book 2, I recommend you follow this series. Some series just need to be read in order. This is Sofia and Enzo's story. While Sofia is an up and coming fashion designer, there are other things that go with being part of a mafia family. Being the baby of the family and the only girl. Makes her life that much harder. But she wants what every young lady wants. To put her fashion on the runway. Enzo on the other hand is not only good looking but he is part of a mafia family as well. He would do anything to protect Sofia, even if it could get them killed. His goal is to stay away, for her protection. But family secrets have a way of coming to the surface. Now what? Read on and find out what will happen next. No Spoilers!

Amy McKinley has done it once again. The story itself will keep you reading. This is a fast paced rollercoaster of a read. I instantly fell in love with Enzo and Sofia. She is so independent and strong. He is just too hot to handle. He will protect Sofia with his life. Amy McKinley just has a way with her writing technique, she will keep you wanting so much more. Blood Oath is the second book in Amy McKinley’s exciting Mafia Elite series. The series focuses on the Italian American mafia, with book 2 focusing on different characters than book 1 (No Way Out) but with familiar characters returning on the sideline.
Sofia, our heroine in this book, is a fashion designer as well as being a mafia “princess”. So we get a fun insight into the fashion world, with her preparations for Milan fashion week. She’s defiantly independent – driving those who are meant to be protecting her up the wall! I particularly liked her friendship with Katya – against her family’s wishes, but definitely proving to her advantage!
The narrative swaps between Sofia and Enzo’s perspectives. This is particularly effective as Sofia is privy to some big secrets that Enzo knows nothing about. It’s fun seeing both sides of the story!
A word of warning: don’t read this book when you’re meant to be paying attention to your surroundings! I nearly missed my stop on the train I was so engrossed in this book! So read it somewhere safe where you can afford to lose track of time…
This book gets five stars from me! I’d recommend starting with book 1 but McKinley gives readers enough background (and a handy character list) that you should be able to keep up if you come in at book 2.

I can’t get enough of this series!! Amy McKinley knocks another one out of the park. Nothing hotter than a growly Mafia man attracted to a strong, kickass Mafia woman. Sign me up!

The story picks up with Lil and Max on their honeymoon. Sofia La Rosa is preparing for her big Milan Fashion Week show when Ivan, a psycho Russian Bratva killer, starts tracking her. Sofia knows what he wants and is unwilling to part with the information. When her overprotective brothers ask Enzo, the love of Sofia’s life, to help protect Sofia when she is in Milan for her fashion show, Sofia knows it is a bad idea.

Enzo Vitale is poised to take over the family to become the Don. Enzo can’t seem to move past what he witnessed four years ago when he rescued his sister from the clutches of a human trafficking ring. Since then he has distanced himself from everyone but especially the one matters the most, Sofia. Now she needs his protection from Ivan and the Russians. Will this be his chance to show Sofia that they can be together?

I didn’t want to tear myself away! There is so much action with so many players. I love all the twists and the secret players. Is Katya a friend or a foe? Will Elena ever get to come home? If I wasn’t hooked after the first one, I am definitely hooked now! I love this series.

I love the Mafia Elite series so much, and we're only 2 books in. The heroines Amy McKinley creates are after my own heart as they're sassy & bada** which only makes the stories better in my opinion. Blood Oath is Sofia & Enzo's story, and it's a doozie. See, their being together was written in the stars, but there are some things in their way. He's contracted to someone else, and after his sister went through hell, he's been staying away from Sofia so she has accepted that they won't be together. This girl is straight up fire & could bring all the boys down so easily that I found myself laughing a lot. However, Enzo is now sticking to her like glue because of a serious threat to her from a Russian with no soul, especially since she's about to have her first fashion show in Italy for fashion week, and she's not missing that. They have chemistry in spades, but she has secrets that he will need to know before anything serious happens between them. At this point the twists are coming in hot as this Russian is insane & will get his hands on her & that means Enzo will need to be ready in case that happens. In order to see how it all plays out you know what to do! I CANNOT WAIT for the next book & HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

This is the second book in the mafia elite series and this one completely knocked my socks off. While it is a stand alone book the characters and their interactions make a lot more sense if you read the first book first.
Sophia and Enzo have history a lot of it, but as adults he is contracted into marriage to someone else. Mafia marriages tend to lend them to the best outcome for the families whether it be alliances, money, or power. Enzo just cannot get Sophia out of his mind and knows that as heir to a throne marriage would put her into a dangerous situation. Now Sophia’s well being is being threatened by an outsider who knows she has secrets about Enzo’s missing contracted bride. With Sophia being an up-and-coming fashion designer she jets off to Milan for the fashion show with an entourage of body guards and the hope that she’ll be safer. Only trouble seems to follow her wherever she goes. Will the secrets tear Enzo and Sophia apart? Can Enzo protect Sophia from a madman determined for information? What about Katya, can she even be trusted? Read this book to find out all these answers and more. This is an action-packed page turner that you will get lost in.

The second book of this series, just like the first, did not disappoint. This is a story about mafia princess Sofia who is being “hunted” by the Russian mafia. Sofia is a designer who is about to take off in the fashion world in Milan. However, prior to this adventure, a person from her past shows up and everyone knows that trouble is coming. Sofia has brothers who will not let anything happen to her, however, another would also come to her aid and much more. Enzo is the son of a high ranking mob boss, but has always pledged to keep Sophia safe. When they were younger they performed a blood oath and he always promised to keep her out of harm's way. They have been “estranged” ever since his promised bride went missing along with his sister. He thought by staying away from Sophia, it would help keep her safe but he was wrong. So, Enzo and Sophia end up taking this journey together while he plays bodyguard and they both try to ignore their feelings for one another.
I always love a great, steamy, romance between friends that becomes more.
Some of the best relationships start out as friends and the bond can become something so different. That seems to happen for Enzo and Sophia. I really enjoy this series. The characters, the steaminess, and the combination of bad boy at the whims of the woman he loves just truly does it for me.

Action, mystery, mayhem, and risk of death, whew! A great installment in the series!

This book focuses on the friends-to-lovers, reluctant relationship of Enzo and Sophia. I enjoyed reading the flashback near the beginning of the story which described their relationship from when they were kids and how it had morphed to what it was in “current day.” Enzo is next in line to be one of the mafia boss heads but is also a protector for Sophia, a friend and woman he has desired for years. Sophia is an up-and-coming fashion designer who is getting her big break with a fashion showing in Milan, that is if she can ever get there with the threat to her life and her family’s overprotective ways.

I enjoyed the mafia aspect and the threat lingering around Sophia for being the daughter of one of the five mafia bosses that rule. We get to learn a bit about her role as the youngest and only daughter in the family, and how her brothers are very protective. We get to see more of the ladies that make up the group of friends: Liliana, Sophia, Emiliana, and Eva. I especially enjoyed getting to know the Russian assassin Katya (I love me a kick ass ninja type woman).

Like any dramatic romance there is the push and pull of will the main characters end up together in the end. I’m normally not one who enjoys that waffling of will they actually end up together, typically because it’s due to lack of communication and assumptions that the drama unfolds, but I actually really enjoyed how it was done here. There are true reasons why each person has decided not to follow their heart, including some life or death reasons, that add a dramatic tension without it being overdone.

Content warning: talk of human trafficking, violence against women, gun violence, death, mafia violence.

This installment be read on its own but the back information you would have from reading book 1 was beneficial to me keeping the information and names straight.

I have read a few books from this author and she always blows my mind. This is the second book in the very addictive Maffia Elite series. This book could be read as a stand alone but there are some previous characters in this story as well. I love a good mafia romance but this author always exceeds my expectations. I was so excited when I got this book I stopped everything and started to read it immediately. I was hooked on the very first page and I couldn’t put it down until the end. I can’t wait to see what this amazing author will write next.

Enzo and Sofia have known each other for a long time. They have been through a lot together since they both live the mafia life. Enzo told Sofia that he would always be there for her but when tragedy strikes they are ripped apart. Sofia is now a clothing designer and she loves what she does. She is approached by someone that says that she is in great danger. Sofia is then pushed into the life she wanted to leave behind but she feels that something is not right. She is face to face with Enzo once again. Sofia still had strong feelings for him but with a target on her back she needs to protect him. Will Sofia find her happy ending or will it be destroyed once again?

Amy McKinley, what am I going to do with you? You have me hooked! I enjoyed Lil and Max’s story, however I don’t even think it compares to Enzo and Sofia’s story in Blood Oath.
As children Sofia and Enzo made a blood oath to one another to always keep each other safe. Now as adults that blood oath holds a lot more meaning.
Love for one another that they dare to act on. I get it, in a sense been there done that but at the same time, that man is now my husband. So I can relate to how she wrote the characters in a way.
When love is involved secrets can threaten to destroy the whole thing, especially when those secrets are now what has Sofia’s life in danger! Sofia has to choose the best way to go about those secrets, because she could lose everything she holds dear.
Get ready for a wild ride! Passion and connection to one another neither can deny. There’s so many characters in these books, when’s book 3 coming out? If that’s very much so, I can’t wait for who and what Amy McKinley writes about next in this series.

Blood Oath, the 2nd book in Amy McKinley's Mafia Elite series had me hooked. I love all of McKinley's books, but the Mafia ones are my favorite. There are a LOT of characters, which makes the first part of the book intense, but once I get a feel for who is dating who, and related to who, it all falls into place. This book could be read without reading the first, as they focus on different characters, but there are a lot of connecting story lines and details. They are all wonderful, so just do yourself a favor and read both. This book focuses on Enzo and Sofia, the younger generation of the Chicago Mafia families. They have been friends for life, and both share feelings for each other. However, Enzo is promised to another, in a marriage contract, which has had them fighting their feelings for years. When danger strikes, these two are thrown together and despite a deadly situation, it is exactly what they both need. I love that Sofia (and all the Mafia Princesses) are not delicate flowers. They are bada$$ women who are trained from a young age to fight, withstand torture, and shoot a gun. Their family bonds are wonderful too, with siblings sharing close bonds. I cant wait to read the next book in the series.

Blood Oath (Mafia Elite #2) by Amy McKinley

This is another great read by the author. She knows how to drag you into her world and keep you there. Blood Path is the second book in the Mafia Elite Series. It can be read as a standalone.

Sofia is in danger, but it's leading her to the man of her dreams. What happens when there's a contract and the other party isn't dead? Keeping secrets isn't what she likes to do, but one she has to keep is this one. The quote I chose for Sofia is: “So? That doesn’t mean anything. He could have seen movement and looked up. Who knows? Besides, it doesn’t matter. I leave for Italy soon. Ivan is here.”

Enzo doesn't know that the other party of the contract is alive. He is still dealing with his sister going missing and Elena being dead. The quote I chose for Enzo is: “They took my sister. What’s stopping them from an attempt on my wife? I can’t let anything happen. Not to you. You have to know that, to understand after all these years what you mean to me. I swore a blood oath to protect you, even if it’s from myself. I’m barely holding on after what happened to my sister. I won’t survive the same thing or worse being done to you.”

Highly recommended for Romantic Suspense lovers.

The second book of this new Mafia series was none stop danger, action and suspense. I was hanging on the edge of my seat, from start to finish. Not believing my eyes as everything unfolds.

We did get small hints of things in previous book. So would recommend reading book one first.

Sofia and Enzo have loved each other since they were kids. Only things aren’t straightforward in the Mafia, you don’t always get to marry who you choose. But nothing will stop Enzo doing everything in his power to keep Sofia safe.

This is the second book in the series. I absolutely loved the first book and was hoping this book wouldn’t let me down. Oh, how right I was. This book isn’t just as good as the first book in this series, it’s better. This is the continuation of the amazing group we met in the first book and really gives the background the two main characters of this book. It does also give you a glimpse into the other characters (I am sure there are more books coming). This has the twists and turns that I have come to love from this author’s writing, but it also has the emotional heart string pulls. You feel for these characters and this book brought me to tears because of the way these two loved each other but were holding back because of outside circumstances. You are constantly wondering if they will ever just say “screw it” and be with each other or will all the rules of the mafia keep them apart. This book has suspense, mystery, action, love, and even humor in it. I felt myself go through every emotion while reading this. If you have ever read a mafia romance book and liked it, you will definitely love this series

Blood Oath: A Friends to Lovers Mafia Romance (Mafia Elite Book 2) by Amy McKinley. No sure how many can relate but I usually have a bit of a hard time changing to a different couple’s storyline within a series. I just think I fall so hard for one set of characters it takes me a bit of mental break to move on. But I have to say I didn’t have that this time. Don’t get me wrong I’m still totally hooked on book ones characters and they still have my heart in a grip. But this author has a way of just making you so excited to see where the series is heading. And I was definitely eager to get Enzo and Sofia’s story. These two captured my heart just as easily. Their chemistry is everything you need in a story it jumps off the pages and they truly bring the story to life. I highly recommend reading this series in order to get the biggest impact of the overall storyline. It’s well written and everything I was looking for in a book two. Way to hit it way out of the park! So excited to see where this series goes next! Five of the biggest stars I can give! Highly recommended!

This is the second book in the Mafia Elite series and it was just as gripping as the first. The author does an amazing job with her characters making their stories grip you from the beginning. I love how are leading lady Sofia is a Mafia princess however she is determined and strong willed and can handle herself.

This is Enzo and Sofia's story and it carries on from the first book where they were support characters.
Now that Enzo is free from his arranged marriage the connection between him and Sofia becomes stronger than ever. However Enzo thinks that by being around him will put Sofia at risk like his sister and he doesn't want to do that. Little does he know that Sofia is hiding her own secrets.

Sofia's secrets are what is now causing the Russians to come after her and if the secret gets out it will have a bad impact on Enzo's life. Can Enzo protect Sofia when he doesn't know the reason why they are targeting her? Will Enzo and Sofia finally give into their love? And what will happen if this secret that Sofia holds is revealed.
