Welcome back to Fiddlehead Creek, the little town in the southwest region of Georgia, where strange is normal!
I’m Esme Hightower, and I’m finally a full-fledged psychic medium. But all my hard work could go up in smoke if I don’t get an out-of-control coven back in line. Those witches are causing chaos everywhere, and only someone with special powers—someone like me—will have a shot at stopping them.
And on top of that, my love life is a mess. I’m torn between a shape-shifting hunk and the smoking-hot chief of police.
Life has never been more confusing or more dangerous. If I make the wrong decisions, not only will my life be on the line, but the entire town could be destroyed.
Once again Esme can’t seem to stay out of trouble. Highly recommend you read the entire series so you understand what is going on between various characters. Esme is still trying to get a grip that not only is she psychic, but is also a witch and trying to learn about that. When she is approached by Guy, Fiddlehead Creek’s sheriff (as well as a previous boyfriend trying to win her back), because she is the only one who can save the town from the evil Bramble Root Coven what else could she do but say yes. Unfortunately she can’t tell anyone, and it makes it very difficult, but in the end she turns to Hawk to help. Love the twists and turns and can’t wait to see where Esme goes with her psychic powers, being a witch, and more importantly, who will win her heart - Hawk or Guy.
The entire plot felt farfetched and thin. It never was satisfactorily explained why the Bramble Root Coven wanted to control the town. It felt like that coven was evil just for the sake of evil - they weren't a villain with depth.
Needs a little more editing. The writing style was fairly bland and felt unpolished. There were also a couple of continuity errors/inconsistencies - one being that Esme promises to tell Ghost EVERYTHING no matter what, then hides things and claims she can't tell Ghost anything - even though the level of danger she is in has never changed.
Also blowing up the police station? Felt like things escalated very quickly and, again, felt evil just for the sake of being evil - no real belivabl driving force was explained.
Esme has enough going on with an old flame, a possible new one and a new familiar. Throw in a plan to go undercover with the Brambleroot Witches to uncover their plot to takeover the town. There are a couple of toe stumpers. First for someone undercover she insists on talking and personally seeing the police chief, why not a message delivered by her familiar? Then her friend who was tutoring her told her she needed to stay away. But she didn't, and Ruby Rose almost lost her life.
Esme finds herself putting her acting skills to use, when she has to take down some evil witch's. Esme is the town's best shot , she may need help from a old beau. Fast paced and well written, look forward to the next story with Esme hopefully as a certified Psychic.Fun series , would recommend to all.
This is another cute cozy mystery. I like how the series is progressing. I do think it was quite far fetched for the plan to have ever worked the way they thought it would. I do have a question going into the next book. I am really enjoying watching Esme grow and change. Each book is a little adventure.
The book has a creative concept and lots of imaginative ideas, but I personally found it quite chaotic and difficult to follow. There was a lot happening, and I struggled to keep track of the order of events, which made it hard for me to stay engaged. while others may enjoy this business, unfortunately it just wasn't the right fit for me
Esme is a psychic medium but also a witch. She keeps getting herself into some scary situations. Can you go undercover and expose the dark witches? The love triangle is still in play OR is it? The ending while not a cliffhanger makes me look forward to the next book in this series.
Same has her hands full, finding out she 's then just a psychic. Also trying to figure out to handle the two men her life, while trying to survive and fight off evil witches.
These are such great cozy mystery novellas. They’re fun. With a little magical sparkle. A little shifter hottie action. And a bit of mystery. It’s an easy read that’s nice to get lost in for an hour.
A cozy with all the right mixes of... romance, mystery, and a whole lot of craziness. I just adore this series and the author has such a way with words.
A quick reading short story that is very entertaining. A black witch coven is trying to take over the town. Esme with a little help from her friends, must save the day.
