Lama Shenpen K. Hookham, born Susan Kathryn Rowan, is the Spiritual Director of the Awakened Heart Sangha and has been a teacher and translator in the Mahamudra and Dzogchen traditions of Tibetan Buddhism for over 50 years, most closely associated with the Karme Kagyu lineage. Her principle teachers have been Khenpo Tsultrim Gyamtso and Chögyam Trungpa.
