Conversational, even Dr. Seuss-like, are the rhyming couplets. Everything seems normal when the hero of this book allows an animal to enter his house, coming in through his bedroom window:
I'm sure my mom won't mind, I thought. He's really very small.
One tiny pigmy marmoset could do no harm at all.
Only so many more kinds of animal enter the house, taking over the place. Much humor follows. Also a happy ending that I consider a bit over the top, but your kids may love it.
FIVE STARS. Thanks, author Alex English and artist Pauline Gregory.
