If you follow my reviews you know that I normally only give 5 stars to Rachel’s mafia books because I believe that’s her best writing but as you can see she’s just slayed with My Summer In Seoul!

I binged this book all day, not stopping to come up for air. These characters had me in the palm of their hands and were not letting go. I’m not ashamed to say I even teared up at several points because my heart was hurting for them.

I’m so happy that Rachel chose to write this passion project because I

I am laughing, crying and feeling all the feels after finishing this remarkable novel!

My summer in Seoul does a fantastic job of highlighting the world of k pop! I didn’t know how intense it was!

I have recently started listening to kpop and really love the music and getting a sort of “behind the scenes” look at this world really opened up my eyes to just how truly talented and dedicated the artists are!

I feel that Van Dyken did an amazing job of weaving in information into a storyline that ju

How am i supposed to review this awesomeness!? How am I supposed to move on now?????
If i could given this book 10 stars i would! I have been fan of Rachel and her books since like forever but this story is beyond my wildest imagination! I thought its going to be a rockstar romance set in K-Pop world but oh boy how wrong was I!? This is much more than that! So. Much. More.... I am obsessed with this book! And holy shit the angst, the intensity and all the swirling emotions oh god it s

I absolutely identified with Grace from the start. I’ll be honest & say I don’t know very much about k-pop but the last couple of years have been a total eye opener just learning from Rachel & the Rockin Readers lol. She is a fountain of k-pop knowledge & I adore her passion and it absolutely shows in My Summer in Seoul.

Meeting the guys through Grace we get to see all of their personas. We get to witness how toxic their fandom can be along with how they are allowed to deal with life. Their live

Eveything I could tell you about this book could be a lie. Like the fact My Summer in Seoul was good book. Lie! It was freaking phenomenal! The characters were alright. LIE! The characters?! Seriously so so diverse, unique and funny in their own ways. The reason I say everything could be a lie is bc I want you to experience the lol moments, heartache, the oh! NO! YOU DIDNT! Moments for yourself. Some words may resonate more with one person then another and that's okay! For me, this book was fres ...more

My Summer in Seoul is such a phenomenal read. I could not get enough of this one. I did not want to this one down and was sucked in from the very start. Not knowing much of anything about K pop other than the music is out there I was blown away by this. Rachel Van Dyken makes you feel a part of group and as if you are in the front row seats for everything. You feel for Grace as she is basically thrown in the deep end once her feet hit Seoul and not knowing anything of her Korean culture. There i ...more

Wow. I remember reading a snippet of this book when RVD started writing it. The “blocking the door with the chair” scene that is early on in the book. It made me want more immediately. The author has a way of pulling you in with her words, that turn into sentences and then chapter after chapter you get sucked into the book and can’t put it down.

Grace has the chance of a lifetime to fly to Seoul and work for her uncle at his record label. Little does she know what exactly she is supposed to do.

Ok I’m not going to lie, I did not expect to love this book that much. It has so many elements and layers to it, it was so hard to put down!

You learn about K-pop and the struggles artists and these groups go through, you get some cultural education about Korea, mental health and just so much.

Grace does so well for someone thrown into a completely different culture than what she knows, it’s an emotional ride for her, but she’s so open and supportive and I seriously loved her.

Okay this book is like my younger self dreams come true. I grew up being a big K-pop fan and this book ticked all the boxes.

Grace is literally living the dream working with a big K-pop group, SWT. The beginning was a struggle but I love seeing her form a relationship with everyone in the group.

This book is more than just romance but it deals with real issues and shines a light on the life of a K-pop star.

I couldn't put this book down and was just dying to read more and delve into this world.

I’ve been anticipating this book since reading the beginning pre COVID. It was so good, and gives such an in depth look at K-POP. I’m really looking forward to seeing this adapted to the screen. Grace is thrown into an impossible situation with absolutely no preparation. She’s in Korea and doesn’t know the language and definitely is feeling the culture shock. SWT is the group she’s supposed to help with. They don’t make anything easy for her. She adapts the best she can, and ends up with some ad ...more

I honestly don't know where to begin; I went into this book without even reading the synopsis since RVD's ability as an author inspires readers to trust her, but nothing could have prepared me for the journey that her words would take me on as I read My Summer in Seoul.

My Summer in Seoul is unlike any romance novel I've ever read, not just because it takes place in Korea, but also because of the various characters and the culture that plays such an essential role in the plot. I'm complet

Is there anything that RVD can’t write about. The amount of talent in this one individual is beyond compare. My Summer in Seoul is a different book than what I have recently read by Racheal Van Dyken. I am not a fan of K-Pop, so it was a little hard for me to get into the storyline and plot, but I eventually got there. The story takes place over a three-month time frame and is very detailed of what Grace and the people from SWT (Something Worth Taking) experience. Because it was not my normal ge ...more
