I didn't realize when I put these books on hold per my friend's challenge that there were "Adventures" and "New Adventures". The new ones are cute enough, but these original ones are pretty awful. I definitely won't make the mistake of getting this particular series again.
This was a fun book to read. There's a monster in the Fun House at the Tons of Fun Amusement Park. Detectives Mary-Kate and Ashley solve the mystery and find out what's really living in the Fun House and chasing away the customers.
My seven-year-old daughter insisted that I had to read this. I was so very hesitant, but honestly? The mystery was fun and age-appropriate, the girls were smart and curious and used their own intuition, intelligence, and initiative, and there were consequences that made sense. The mystery was a little far-fetched, but my daughter loved it. And OH MY GOD, these are so much easier to handle than the rainbow fairy books!
When I was little I'd read these books all the time. Everytime i go to the library i'd start putting all of them into my bag. I finished the whole series (:
