Cole for Christmas

Rate this book
Easy going event coordinator Katy Costa is called in last minute to sub for her perfectionist sister at a Christmas Eve wedding in Portland, Maine. Nice guy chef Cole St. Onge takes over from his temperamental boss for the same event.

The problem? Each thinks the other is their prickly counterpart and they expect fireworks when they meet. It's the sparks that fly between them that's unexpected. And unwelcome—Katy's skittish after a bad breakup. Left at the altar, Cole's sworn off women for good. Mix in an unexpected snowstorm, an accident-prone groom, Katy's self-pitying ex making trouble, a matchmaking grandma, and lots of mistletoe, and what's supposed to be a magical holiday affair fast becomes a Christmas nightmare.

Forced to team up to put out the many fires, the blaze between Cole and Katy burns brighter as the evening wears on. Can they ignore their growing attraction and keep their relationship strictly professional? Or will they give in to the mistletoe and say I do to a Christmas kiss that promises more to come in the new year?

This is a wonderful mistaken identity, witty romance. Cole hates weddings and has dreams of opening his own restaurant. When he has to work a wedding on Christmas Eve, he isn't happy about it; especially since he was liking his interaction with the woman in the store. Katy is planning a pity party because her life is going horribly right now. When she is meets a guy in the store and they flirt, she is enamored.

When they see each other at the wedding: he is the chef and she is stepping in for her sister as the event manager, they are shocked. Unfortunately, he thinks she is her sister (his boss has made her sound horrible) and she thinks he is Blaine (Cole's boss, who is a womanizer and jerk). Every time they are close to having a wonderful moment, something is said or done that makes one retreat. The witty banter and dialogue is great. Not to mention all of the mishaps the bridal party goes through.

A freak snow storm, a super klutzy groom, a work-aholic father of the bride, and a bride who wants everything perfect (even when everything isn't) and you get a wonderful romantic comedy. When Katy's ex shows up that also adds another wrinkle to the relationship. A secret Santa who happens to get appropriate gifts for everyone, adds a little mystery to the story as well.

I really enjoyed this story and would absolutely read more by this author. I received an ARC and this is my honest, voluntary review.

A fun CHRISTMAS story. Katy comes to the rescue filling in at the last minute as the event planner for her ailing sister only to have to deal with her ex who's the DJ, the womanizing chef her sister warned her about, a klutzy groom, beauty mishaps, meltdowns, and a Nor'easter that is threatening to ruin the bride's over-the-top Christmas wedding. Only the chef is helping save the day and melting Katy's heart despite the frigid temps and her own attempts to frost him out to protect herself.

Cole is paying his dues working for a semi-celebrity chef until the day he can open his own restaurant, but when his womanizing boss can't get back for a Christmas eve wedding event, it's Cole's chance to shine. Slight hitch, he hates weddings after being jilted at the alter. Throw in the control freak event manager his boss warns him about, the power going out, most of his serving staff snowed out, a wedding cake disaster, and the totally hot, but cold, wedding planner he wants to kiss under the mistletoe, in the snow, or just about anywhere, and it's going to require some serious Christmas magic for the bride and groom and the event manager and chef to get their happy endings.

This story is filled with enough good cheer and Christmas references to rival the Griswold's decorations.
Tropes: Christmas romance, mistaken identities, sweet match-making grandmother.

This sweet Christmas book is super cute and filled with everything Christmas you could ever want in a holiday romance. Snow, a wedding, candy cane striped shoes, a Christmas tree shaped wedding cake, mistletoe everywhere, a bag of mystery presents, reindeer shaped cookies, and innkeepers who look like Mr. and Mrs. Claus with the names Hollis and Ivy.

Mix together a jaded chef and a last-minute fill in wedding planner - ooh, sorry, I meant event manager - add a huge splash of chemistry, with a dash of laughs and hijinks, and you've got yourself a winner of a book. Sure to get you in the holiday mood!

I absolutely loved this book. It had everything I would hope for in a holiday romance and more. Sweet, cute and funny to boot. Multiple cases of mistaken identity make this a fantastic read. I absolutely could not put this down. Books can have the ability to draw you in and transport you away from the chaos of real life. This book did it not just from the first chapter, but the first page. Katy and Cole are really great characters. I wish I can one day find my Cole for Christmas. If you like holidays romances, this is a must read. If you’re newer to the genre this would be a great one to start with, I cannot recommend it enough. It’s a treat for anytime of year you want a little Christmas.

First I absolutely love this cover. Second the whole book is narrowed down to just one event; how amazing is that? Because of that, the author was able to fit in so many details about what happened during the wedding event that would be hard to fit in otherwise. Both Katy and Cole think each other is someone else, and the author makes it work perfectly in this book. This would make a great, one of a kind, Christmas movie!

Delightful Holiday Romance!!

Janet Raye Stevens is a wonderful author. She provided us with witty banter, funny mix-ups, nostalgia, and romance. Preconceived ideas about each other and their changes over the course of a day were interesting and funny to follow. I highly recommend this book!!

A fun, mistaken-identity holiday romance.

Cole for Christmas delivers on its promise of seasonal romance. Anything that can go wrong does when event planner Katy must take over as the wedding coordinator of a themed Christmas Eve wedding. When chef Cole arrives on the scene, both snow and sparks fly. Cole for Christmas brings romantic holiday cheer!

This book had some cute moments and an interesting premise, but I was kind of annoyed by the mishaps and annoying wedding party. Plus it's kind of ridiculous how long it took Katy and Cole to realize they had their identities mixed up. And I'm not super into the insta-love stuff. So for me it fell a little flat overall.

This book was a Hallmark movie on a page, warm, cozy, full of low key tension, sarcastic banter, and an over-the-top Christmas wedding. I loved it.

I saw this on the promotional list for R&R Tours and decided to get a copy for myself.

The characters were likable and the way that they each thought the other was someone else was amusing to read.

The setting was unmistakably Christmas with the 'gingerbread house' and the decorations and the snowy weather.

The writing style was light and enjoyable to read.

Overall a lovely, cozy, Christmas read and one that I would recommend if you like a bit of light-hearted romance and Christmas!

🎄Cole For Christmas is the perfect book to start December off on a sweet note. It's got all of the appeal of a Hallmark movie full of sparks, snow, and mistletoe! I read this book in one sitting and loved how cozy it made me feel. Janet Raye Stevens perfectly captured the magic and charm of the holiday season, peppered with a bit of drama and spice. 💖
