Olivia Cadwell is finding herself in an impossible situation. She knows she has to leave Leo Folley and his privileged life if she's going to protect him from the people who are after her. She knows she can't work in his office anymore, if she wants to protect him from his own board of investors.
Unfortunately, she's also fallen in love with him. And that's going to make leaving a whole lot harder.
When she runs into her own father outside of Leo's office, though, things get a whole lot more complicated. And the stakes get a whole lot higher.
A job is a job, until you're the bosses pretty woman…
I find that the book is a lot of words and pages but not much plot development or time passing. Too much repetitive inner thoughts and rambling, too much contradiction, mostly seen with the female protagonist, thinking of leaving but also having feelings for male protagonist, yet having no real explanation why. The male seems weak for a multi billion business owner. The most burning question I had - she is keen on leaving and wants to remain unfound by mom's boyfriend but decides to open a Cafe and bookstore named after herself? In the same town she is currently residing in? What's the point of leaving Leo? But as I do like slow burn and I'm terrible at leaving books half read, I'm going to read the last in series, although I don't think it deserves to cost this much.
This book isn't worth $.01! The characters didn't develop one iota from the previous book. After reading the entire book we got no answers. How can someone have a billion dollar conglomerate that has an accounting department which can't function for two days without falling apart. Totally unbelievable. I'd like my money back.
The millionaire’s pretty woman series #2: Captive Devotion by Lexi Timms.
I dreamed of a second movie that continues “Pretty Woman 2” between Vivian and Edward. In the second book, I continue to love and adored their attraction between Olivia Cadwell/Parker and Leo Folley. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and I’m looking to read the final book of this series. In the first book, there were so many cliffhangers than the second one. Olivia won’t deny her feelings because she doesn’t want to get too attached to him and hurt his reputation with his company because Leo is very much into her. He is very determined that Olivia can save his company and the question is who the hell Mark Parker is he? You can decide.
I raced through the first book really enjoying the developing relationship of these two. However that was totally missing in this book. I felt this book just focused too much on the worry she would leave or the worry that he would kick her out. These concerns repeated themselves over and over. There were moments where I saw a spark, like the kitchen baking scene which seemed a great chance to see these two really interact yet it was cut short. Most of this book was in there heads individually and not enough connection.
I think this book was great. So far it isn’t exactly better than other books I’ve read but it is a good books and I can’t wait to read the rest of the book although in some parts of book one it got kinda boring and u could kinda guess what was gonna come next it is enjoyable and I can put up with it.
This is the second book in the series. The first and second books leave off on cliffhangers. This book was extremely slow. I had a hard time finishing it and won’t be buying the third and final book. The heroine is washy washy .
﹌﹌﹌ 2 stars! So why did this one suddenly start to decline? I was eager to go right into the second book after the first one's cliffhanger, but Olivia simply made me angry. Personally, I no longer like her or Leo. What literally happened?
