We were on the front lines in that world, the mafia world.

There was nothing soft or glamorous about it.

Who you were before no longer mattered. Names didn’t exist.

I joined anyway. I had no other choice because they took my sister.

Join. Find her. Try and make it out alive.

Then he won me in a poker game.

I hated him instantly, thinking he was like my other bosses before him.

I held still. Was that...? Were we bargaining here? “What?”
“I’ll spare him, but you’re in my bed. I want to fuck you whenever and wherever I want. Got it?”

Canary is one of my fave books of the year! I've read it twice and I could read it again!

Holy shit, Raize is pure FIRE!!! He's what book boyfriend fantasies are made of. A sexy, dangerous, killer. An alpha asshole (my weakness), super hot, swoony and protective. I die. I'm so in love with him. I could go o

📚CANARY 📚 Is a full length mafia romance book by Tijan, spoken in 'dual perspectives.'

To say I inhaled this was an understatement. I read this at a speed which is unknown to me, like an adrenaline junky my pulse and heart rate was spiking all over the place, this book had me sitting on tenterhooks with it's twists and turns, and it's fast paced goodness I couldn't put down, this was beyond unique to

Oh boy... Where do I start?
I really liked this book, and I'm one of those who loves Tijan's writing style.
It's really different and the way she put out thoughts and ideas, it's pretty unique in my opinion.

The FMC here used a bunch of different names in her crusade to find her sister, and I think that she lost herself along the way...
She has a skill that attracted the attention of a few mafia's bosses, and after a year, she ended up working for Raize.

“enemies to lovers” what a load of bullshit when I started (& dnf) on this book because this is FALSE ADVERTISING. More like a professional employee & boss situationship with benefits type of shit here & there’s barely any romance & the sex scenes, what scenes? There wasn’t any because of how lacking it is. Lmao! Anyways, I can see why most readers like (love) this book & becuz it’s “Tijan.” I can’t relate to her writing & don’t care for this mafia / cartel ongoing drama. I really

I finished this book just a few hours ago but I’m not ready to review. Don’t worry, it’s a phenomenal 5 STAR read, but it’s a big story. There are things I want to say but more importantly, there are things I don’t, because, spoiler. Did I say this is a big story? So I have to think …

I’ll be back, but in the mean time ...

Okay, I’m back, and I have thoughts. I’ve listened to the audio and read the book and now I’m blinking even more. There are details that sometimes slip t

🖤🖤Dark Mafia Romance 🖤🖤

I've been itching for another Tijan read for a while now and let me tell you, this one came right when I needed it and was everything I hoped and more. I had no doubt that I was going to love this book and Tijan did not disappoint. I believe this one is even better than her previous mafia novels with a lot more darkness, bloodshed and emotional turmoil.

The story has to do with a girl known by many names, depending on who Mafia b

My fav part of this book was definitely the action. One thing it didn't lack was the tension, the twist and turns, the extra bloody murders, the secondary characters and one adorable dog named Gus. I mean they kidnapped the poor dog after he bit the h but he made up for it and was extra cute and protective🥺

My least fav part was the romance between the MCs bc i just didn't feel their connection.

The h(or girl, she has so many names through this book) works for the H (or Raize) who works for

Started strong, and I loved the dynamic between him and her. Canary had a different feel to it which I liked, but the last quarter of the book started to sizzle and I skimmed at times.

In the end it's more like 3.5 star

Whelp, Tijan has done it. I now have another favorite Tijan man and his name is Raize. I’m claiming him so too bad. Heck, I’ll claim Ash as well, because I adored her too. Let’s just throw in Cavers, Jake, and Gus as well 🤷🏻‍♀️

Love. That’s the only thing I can think. It had everything I love in a Tijan romance but so much more. More violence. More steam. More secrets. I was so deeply immersed in

Tijan is the Queen of writing that kindle crack that keeps you turning the page until the very end. Canary was a very compelling read. There was SO much going on that it felt like one fast paced adrenaline ride from beginning to end!

I really enjoyed Raize. He was so addicting and sexy. I feel like this author writes her male leads with that special something where the minute they come on the page, the reader sits up at attention not wanting to miss a beat. Without revealing any spoilers the hero

My love for Tijan stories is more than just a guilty pleasure- it’s pretty much an obsession. Not only do I love Tijan for all the yummy story traits I’ve come to expect, but more so, I love Tijan’s stories just for all the things I CAN’T expect. Sure, Tijan has a “very particular set of skills” that always enchant me- her propensity for addictively high angst new adult romance, the ways in which she weaves the highly familiar first love saga with highly original, bold and gritty contexts, the q ...more

2.5 Stars. This started off really interesting for me, but it got old kind of fast. Tijan gave a warning on how violent this book was and while it was violent, it was done in a pretty generic way. There were just lots of repeated scenes of Raize shooting someone in the head or him shooting a whole bunch of people who were attacking him. It was tedious, which isn't something you should be saying about gun violence. I also never really got into the romance and Ash's whole backstory was pretty anti ...more

Brutal and steamy

Okay, so this is going to be a weird 5-star review, but just bear with me for a minute, lol. I wasn't sure that I even liked this book for the first 30% or so - I was more fascinated than anything, and it definitely took awhile to wrap my head around the characters. This wastes zero time jumping right in; that blurb is pretty misleading, and our couple has actually been working together for over 6 months when the story begins (she is NOT his captive). I really wasn't a fan of th

How is it that Tijan writes so poetically? She really wrote a female character that was shy but also bad ass. She wrote someone that made me want to hug her tight but also be proud of her. And Raize, RAIZE. talk about a killer you are destined to fall in love with. This is a dark romance, strong triggers apply. This actually might be Tijan’s darkest romance to date and she did a phenomenal job. I just loved every aspect of this book. The mystery, the found family and most of all the chemistry be ...more

Fast paced and action packed with found family in a mafia world.
Tijan hooked me from page One.
She always writes unique and unexpected characters with intersting plots.
I loved not only the H and h but also the other members of their "team"
The plot kept me enganged and also had a bit of mystery involved because of the heroines no name and her unique ability as a truth teller which is an asset to many in the crimal world.
This will definitely be a must read for mafia readers that love intense acti
I'm actually not sure how I ended up being able to read this before it was apparently published, but it showed up in my audible list of new releases, so I had plucked it up as I enjoyed previous mafia entries by Tijan. I can see it's no longer listed in audible's catalog outside my library, so my guess is that they accidentally posted it early?

The female audiobook narrator was doing a great job - I'm not sure it really needed to go to the hero's POV in the middle of the novel... And, it did fee

This is a Dark Mafia vs Cartel, enemies to lovers Romance with suspense and action. I was intrigued from the beginning with Raize and “Girl” relationship/dynamic and the twist that came was mind blowing.

“Girl” is trapped into this life, until Raize wins her in a poker game. He’s got motives and he’s a one man show. Not until Raize finally lets her in, and when he does he’s not letting her go

well honestly, I'm a little bit stunned...I guess...hmmm
Or is it a different kind of confusing feeling?!

I'm not quite sure on that either...

Anyway, what I can tell you is that sure, this is again pure Tijan, and at least her heroine, and her hero and her writing style are the "same" and "familiar" as we are used to getting from, yay to that...

What I was missing is the connection, it's all so vague, just up in the air, floating around but never quite coming down into the very co
This was my first book by this author and while I wasn’t completely sold, it was good! This is not what I would consider a “romance” and if you’re looking for smut...not gonna find it here. HOWEVER, the plot of the story was really really good. Beware is a long read or it was to me. I feel like there was a lot of repetition that could have been done away with.

Girl/Carrie/Ash/Canary...what a different kind of heroine she was. She had a line, a thing she would not do or cross, she crosse

Canary was something different from Tijan than I have read from her so far. It was fast paced mafia romance with so many complex twists and turns. My head is dizzy and I am not sure I still have all the pieces of puzzles. Raize will set you on fire and his girl will break you. It was a convoluted and raw tale of action, suspense, violence and emotions embedded in darkness.

Raize is the most efficient and coldest killer in mafia world. He is full of darkness and twisted sides. And then he acquires

Oh. My. Gosh!

I’ve been reading light and fluffy romance books for the past few month and I never knew just how much I needed the dark and dirty until I hit Canary because boy, that was one badass mafia book that I just couldn’t put down. The characters, the storyline just everything was exactly what I needed.

Raize shows no emotions, everyone around him is disposable and he likes it that way. No feelings means no one can hit his weak spots and hold them against him. He has a team most of which

This book absolutely blew me away! It's dark. It's graphic. It's addictive and you won't want to put it down. This hero and heroine's story is a slow burn that you will savor every step of the way.

This book is so much more than a romance. It is modern-day dark mafia with characters and a plot that will pull you right in from the beginning. I felt like I was in every scene - holding my breath, gasping, and my adrenaline was running overtime. These characters surprised me with every chapter and a
