Sleeping with the hottest mystery man ever was my ultimate fantasy, until he became my boss…
I’m a good girl, the kind who didn’t hesitate to say yes to my beloved grandmother’s request to go with her to Fiji after she broke up with her fiancé.
Sun, sand, relaxation, who would say no?
But I never expected to meet a handsome, exciting stranger who wanted to give me the world.
Passion, mystery, so much pleasure, all at my fingertips.
For a night, I was his fairy tale Cinderella. But then the no strings we’d agreed on became awful sticky when I found out he’s my boss’s best friend and a powerful, millionaire divorce attorney to boot.
So, I ran. And I regretted it every second since.
The next time we met, it was outside my office building. He saved me from a fall, and for an instant, I was his Cinderella once again.
But he had a secret: he was going to be my new boss.
He wanted more from me. Everything. And this time, he wasn’t letting me go.

This was pure swoony, sexy, romantic escapism! April just wanted to relax in the sun while accompanying her grandmother on her unhoneymoon. She never expected to meet an attractive stranger who promised her a fairytale while on their tropical getaway.
They agreed to no names, no information. She was his Cinderella and he was her sexy stranger until she found out he was her boss’s best friend, lived in the same town and wanted more from her than no string and a handful of days.
There were so many things to loved about this book, that if I don’t make a concise and to the point list I'll wax poetic and won’t be able to comply with IG’s caption limit. So here goes: ➵ Bishop Stone. He’s sexy, swoony, broken and yet perfect. ➵ April Finley. She’s a shy planner who decided to take a chance. ➵ Luna and Ryan (April’s BFFs) & Preston Michael Shaw (a.k.a. PMS from book 1 and Bishop’s BFF) ➵ Kit-Kat. April’s man hating cat ➵ Santiago. Bishop’s parrot with a filthy mind and mouth ➵ April’s grandmother, who is fun and absolutely crazy in the best way ➵ The banter between Bishop and April before and after they know their names. It was easy, sassy and delicious. ➵ The swoony & sexiness ➵ The banter between friends (Bishop’s and April’s) ➵ The tropical setting in the first part and the small town in the second including the shout out to Crescent Cove ➵ The fact that Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliot's made an inspiration board for their book https://www.pinterest.com/tarynelliot...

April's on vacation with her beloved grandmother when she meets a gorgeous man and they proceed to have the hottest fling, ever. No names, no expectations. That's what they agreed to, and that's what it should have been. Until she comes back home and finds out he's her boss's (Preston aka PMS from His Temporary Assistant) best friend, and he just may end up becoming her boss, if he and Preston's plan comes to fruition. What's a formerly shy sweetheart to do when her hot vacation mystery man wants more than a fling with her?
Bishop wants much more than just a fling with his gorgeous April. So what if he's going to become her boss? So what if he's not one for relationships? He'll just have to convince his sweetheart that they're meant to be. Rules be damned...
The Kensington Square series is turning out to be just as charming and fun as Crescent Cove. April and Bishop (love the name!) are a fabulous couple with hot, hot chemistry, and their banter is funny and sweet and charged with underlying attraction. Their besties make cameos, along with some crazy, quirky pets (the cat and the bird!!) and April's adorable, younger than her age grandma round out the cast and help the couple find their ever after. I love this world and cannot wait for more.

I thought this story was so enjoyable to read! April is such a likable character and the protectiveness of Bishop is swoon worthy! Together their chemistry was on fire and their story was filled with plenty of drama I wondered what was next. Add in friends from a prior book in the series, I thought was a great story!
I was excited to read this book because I was intrigued while reading the 1st one. Sadly, it wasn’t as thrilling as I had hoped. It’s about April and Bishop and it’s even more instalove than the previous couple, if that’s possible!!!
I liked both the MCs, Bishop more than April. He was very sincere and forgiving. But their romance was so quick that I couldn’t get invested, even when it was well written. It’s just too unrealistic to me. There was so much room for angst but we didn’t get any. This led to the book being just ok and maybe a bit flat, especially after 60%, but we didn’t really have any worries about the couple.
-Dual 1st person POV (and 2 chapters in their friends’ POV) -Spice: 2/5 🌶️
After reading Ryan & Preston's story, i had high hopes for April and Bishop's mystery hook up in Fiji and to be frank i was very disappointed. It had all the possibility to be an awesome book but the author dragged it unnecessarily. At point point in the middle i just wanted to read the epilogue because there wasn't any anticipation of what gonna happen next. Sometimes scorching sex can't save a book alone. When someone says the characters need growth, doesn't mean need to write about each and every aspect of their doings. If this book was a few chapters short, then i think would have worked for me. Though one thing i liked was Author included Ryan and Preston's POVs but even there, lots of dragging around. So moral of the story, u are gonna enjoy the sex scenes, and after doing quite a bit of skipping will arrive at the end and enjoy an epilogue.
MY BOSS’S SECRET is the second instalment in Taryn Quinn’s contemporary, adult KENSINGTON SQUARE erotic, romanc series set in the author’s CRESCENT COVE world. This is divorce attorney Bishop Stone, and PA April Finley’s story line. MY BOSS’S SECRET can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary.
NOTE: Some of the events of MY BOSS’S SECRET cross over with, and run parallel to book one HIS TEMPORARY ASSISTANT.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Bishop and April ) MY BOSS’S SECRET follows the building romance and relationship between divorce attorney Bishop Stone, and PA April Finley. When her grandmother’s nuptuals fell through, PA April Finley found herself in Fiji for a week long ‘honeymoon’ vacation where a mysterious stranger would offer her heaven, no name no numbers, but when April gets wind of the stranger’s true identity, our heroine bolts out of paradise, only to return home to the probability of no job or security, and her best friend ‘dating’ her boss Preston Shaw. Enter divorce attorney Bishop Stone, Preston Shaw’s best friend, and the man with whom April will fall in love. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between April and Bishop, and the potential fall-out as April struggles with her place in the firm, in her friend’s life, and the man who is quite possibly her next boss.
Bishop Stone never expected to fall for the feisty woman he met on his solo vacation in Fiji but when his best friend ghosted their meeting, Bishop found himself head over heals for a woman who was about to upend his world. When his best friend Preston Shaw offers him a position at the firm where our heroine works, Bishop discovers April is all about propriety in appearances, and how their personal relationship will affect their relationship at work but all is not well in Bishop’s personal life, and secrets will reveal a personal struggle and heart break for our story line hero.
The relationship between April and Bishop begins as an anonymous affair in which Bishop offers everything, no names and no future but our couple struggled to keep their emotions off the table, and with April’s disappearance, Bishop battled between head and heart until he found the woman with whom he had fallen in love. The $ex scenes are intimate, passionate and seductive without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
The secondary and supporting characters include the return of Preston Shaw and April’s besties Ryan Moon (His Temporary Assistant) and Luna Hastings (Wrong Bed Baby), Preston’s brother Dexter; Bishop’s sister Michaela and their estranged brother Key, and veterinarian Grant Thorne. Dexter’s story is next in Her Billionaire Bargain.
MY BOSS’S SECRET is a story of friendships and relationships, secrets and love. The character driven premise is fast paced and captivating; the romance is seductive and intense-the sexual energy is palpable and hot; the characters are energetic, and animated.
I loved this one! April goes on her grandmother's unhoneymoon with her to Fiji and while there meets a stranger and feeling out of sorts has a one night stand...well sort of...more of an extremely hot weekend with no holds bared. Kinda Cinderella meets her pirate but when she goes back to her room to get her things she overhears him talking to her grandmother and finds out he really lives in their hometown. Off she runs leaving them both there. Heartbroken she is back at home to find out her job is changing, her boss is quitting, and nothing is the same. Bishop, her fling, rescues her after a fall outside of work one morning and carries her away instead of to work and instead of telling her he may be her new boss they hole up in her apartment. These two were made for each other. Add in Ryan and Luna and their witchy ways and, of course don't forget PMS and this one was so much fun. I cannot wait to see Dexter fall!
Wow! This book is will take you on a long ride. Bishop a lawyer who takes a doctor's order vacation. April on vacation with her grandmother. They meet and it's hot till she finds out that he's her boss best friend. They don't know each other name or where each other are from. So she runs from him.Things are really bad when she gets back to her job and finds her boss with her friend. Great read😁😁
This is the third book for me, and I was looking forward to it when I read the scene in Ryan's book. But it gets bogged down with characters. I love Ryan and Luna but, Bishop and April are together three days and then don't see each other for months. His tragic backstory was center stage but, her truly tragic backstory was barely mentioned. And their best moments are crowded with a peanut gallery. And Crescent Cove was unnecessary. The love scenes are okay. It's good not great.
Loved Bishop and Preston. They are hilarious together! April had her moments. Couldn't stand Ryan. (Didn't like her in the first book; couldn't stand he in this one.) I liked Kit-Kat and Santiago, though. Was there actually a "secret"? I guess there could've been one or two things... but nothing that seemed major enough to warrant the title... unless I'm being way too literal...?
I was in the mood for something romantic that was not too angsty, and this story delivered. The writing was clever and funny and there was serious steam heat at the beginning of the book as Bishop and April first connect at a resort in Fiji. Although I am not a fan of the Fairy Tale trope, the Cinderella metaphors actually worked for me in this story.
Felt like I had a holiday, since money was no object for him, and they had a luxury dream vacation affair, until her fears caused her to run. Their reconnection when at home in Kensington Square was a sighworthy, heartfelt romance as they discovered how their relationship could work in real life. Seeing Bishop connect with her ornery cat and help her do crafty things was charming. They were both healing core emotional wounds, and their connection supported and healed something for both of them, and it was refreshing to have a couple who valued honesty about themselves and each other.
Interesting to see how April’s story intersected with the romances of her best friends Ryan and Luna from earlier books and the strength of female friendships is a strong theme in this series and Crescent Cove. One of my favourite parts of the book was Bishop’s connection to his best friend Preston from Book 1 in the series - some of their conversations had me reaching for tissues. It was amusing to catch the odd Crescent Cove reference. Also felt the authors dealt with his emotional healing in a supportive and compassionate manner. I will be re-reading this one. Final Rating: 5 Stars
Taryn Quinn's latest release, My Boss's Secret is the perfect book escape. It takes readers on a spicy trip to Fiji where Bishop and April meet but don't share their names. Their whirlwind romance will pretty much make your Kindle incinerate. These two are so, so hot together! But just as quickly as their anonymous fling starts, it comes to an abrupt end, and real-life sets in. Returning home to Kensington Square, these two discover that their sexcapades weren't so anonymous after all once they learn one another's true identities. And from there Quinn takes us on a hilarious ride of sex, angst, and fun with tons of heart.
I loved April and how she completely let loose when she was in Fiji. Her neat and orderly world went up in flames once Bishop entered the picture. This sexy man brought out April's wild side and I adored it. And in turn, April gave Bishop a reason to relax and let go of his tightly wound control over everything. Their chemistry was electric and every scene had me swooning over this Prince Charming and his Cinderella. Quinn wrote the perfect story for these two delicious characters.
Kensington Square is a magical place and every time we get to visit there I feel such a pull to its' secrets and the mystical residents who live there. My Boss's Secret is a complete standalone however there are spoilers for His Temporary Assistant so I do recommend reading that story first so you can get PMS and Ryan's story as well. I can't wait to get Dex's story next! 5 stars
I absolutely love the ladies that write as Taryn Quinn, and have thoroughly enjoyed the books in their Crescent Cove series. And although I'd met a couple of the characters in MY BOSS'S SECRET in Crescent Cove prior to this book, this was my first proper visit to Kensington Square. After reading April's and Bishop's story, it is safe to say that I will most definitely going back.
Not only did I fall completely in love with both April and Bishop (I mean, what romance reader doesn't enjoy an opposites attract, sexier than all get-out love story with a little bit of angst along the way?), it was very easy to catch up with Preston (affectionately dubbed PMS) and Ryan, even not having read MY TEMPORARY ASSISTANT, and see that this group is going to be one big happy family that I will enjoy visiting again and again.
As always, Taryn and Cari wrote characters that totally made me want to hang out with them and become part of their world, with glimpses of some that have me hoping that we'll see much more of them (yes, ladies, I'm talking about Grant). Wit, humor, steam, and sweetness, all are a part of this book and this world, and I can't get enough. Next up is Dex's and Shelby's book, which I can only imagine will bring me to my happy place again. Romance lovers, add TQ to your faves, and make sure to take the trip to Kensington Square (and Crescent Cove!). I guarantee, you'll love it there. ❤️
My Boss’s Secret is the second book in the Kensington Square trilogy series by Taryn Quinn. It is another masterpiece coming from the best duo writers ever! My Boss’s Secret is a wonderful love story that begins on an island vacation between a personal office assistant and a multi-millionaire divorce lawyer. Bishop treats her like Cinderella with beautiful dresses and sparkly shoes, and April calls him her “mystery man” since neither exchanged names during their flaming hot tryst on the island. Believe me, the heat is turned on max in this book! Bishop and April both have baggage and issues that color their actions and reactions to life. There are witches, twists, turns, lies, perceived lies, laughter, and tears as the story unfolds.
This quote, epitomes the whole story: “April…reached up for her locket, gripped it in my fist,” Staying open to love in all its forms is what I am trying to do right now. Trusting the path is meant to be mine, I’ll find my way to it.”
The way to Bishop and April’s HEA turns this story into an awesome MUST READ! Taryn Quinn handles with grace and sensitivity panic attacks, which is a form of mental illness. The final book, Billionaire Bargain in the Kensington Square trilogy series will be the next release. I can’t wait to read the final book of this trilogy! If I were you; I would pre-order the final book as soon as possible so it can be in your Kindle app as soon as it is released.
WOW! I really loved how this book started. April is vacationing in Fiji with her grandmother who raised her. Grandma was supposed to have been on her honeymoon but it didn't work out so April goes with her. Grandma is looking for April to have some fun and leaves her to find her own fun. April returns to her room to find this gorgeous dress waiting for her. She puts it on and before you know it she's meeting her mystery admirer. She's so far out of her comfort zone that she plays it like it's a true island fling and they don't share any personal information.
The mystery man, Bishop is taking a vacation from work per his doctor's orders. He sees April from afar and is intrigued. The chemistry is off the charts and the two of them are enjoying each other's company but then April overhears Bishop talking to her grandmother and finds out that his best friend is her incredibly uptight boss. She imagines this won't end well for her so she takes off and flies home, leaving Bishop to wonder what happened. With no way to get in touch with her, Bishop returns home and meets with his best friend about a new job opportunity. But Bishop very quickly puts two and two together and he's on a mission to see her and rekindle their island romance. But is April ready for it to continue in the "real world"?.
This one had me hooked from the beginning. This was the second in the series with guest appearances by her besties Ryan and Luna. A wonderful series!
Chaotic and sweet and absolutely ridiculous, this book checks so many boxes.
Two of the most straight-laced characters I’ve ever encountered in a romantic pairing, and they’re making decisions that make them seem like absolute flight risks! They bring out the crazy in each other and I am here for it!
Needing a little bit of a buffer between reality and their whirlwind emotions, they make some questionable decisions right off the bat and just. Keep. Making. Them.
What I loved most about this story is that none of the messy bits are tidied up with a neat little bow. Who these characters were before they met came from their experiences in their lives, and those experiences are still causing problems after they’re together. They’re not glossed over or immediately fixed just because there’s love in the picture. And that brought some needed reality into a story that could have been out of control without it.
I love April and Bishop and love what they bring out in each other. Bishop is erratic at times and a little crazy, and April tends to control her emotions to a fault. They both grow so much in this story. Highly recommend.
And shoutout to wildcard Grams, Elizabeth, thank you for the push in the right direction!
*I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review
I have no idea how these ladies do it, but they collaborate together perfectly!!!!! Perfect parts, funny, romantic and OMG the crazy sex that we all dream of. April is on the first vacation she has ever taken in almost two years because her grandma needed a travel partner to Fiji after her honeymoon went south. Grandma is already hooking up with men there and wants the same for April. The poor girl works for a divorce lawyer who she has to take care of as much as her cat. She is now on her own there until a surprise package is waiting in her room with a beautiful dress and sparkling shoes only Cinderella would wear. Then Prince Charming arrives at her door. Bishop is a Divorce lawyer who under direction of his doctor, NEEDS a vacation as he is going to work himself to death. He had no plans on hooking up with anyone, till he sees her. He wants nothing else but to make this woman happy. So when they hook up, they agree that this is just all a fling and no attachments. Well that all goes to crap as they are both feeling a lot more. LOVE this story as we now know what was going on with April while Ryan and Luna were falling in love with PMS and Goldilocks!!!!!!
If you read His Temporary Assistant then you know that April's story was coming next. If you haven't it isn't necessary because each book was a standalone however it really is better to start at the beginning because with all Taryn Quinn's books there are lots of inter-connecting characters. So April was the real assistant to Preston (from His Temporary Assistant) and she took a trip to Fiji with her free spirited grandmother to celebrate her non-wedding honeymoon! April meets a handsome stranger and has what she thinks is a vacation fling not knowing that kismet has just struck a mighty blow and her guy is none other than her bosses best friend! Bishop is also an attorney and has been ordered by his doctor to start taking some time off and relaxing so he also planned an island getaway and from the moment he saw April she has captured his eye. These two don't exchange names and April thinks that what happens in Fiji will stay in Fiji but is she ever wrong! This was a steamy, insta-love rom com that was definitely enjoyable and light. It was told from dual POV and I am looking forward to meeting more of the residents of Kensington Square in the future.
Man oh man did I love this story! Bishop and April meet on an Island getaway. They agree to no names and no long term. Their "casual" days together morph into so much more that neither wants to admit. She is his Cinderella and he is her saving grace. When the time gets close to ending things, he takes the initiative to make it possibly more and she runs. But as fate would have it, the might be destined to meet again. The self discovery that they both go through is fantastic! April is a creature of habit. She doesn't like much change in her life. Her job is proof of that. She stays within her comfort zone. Bishop is solely focused on his work until his health is threatened. He is known to be a shark in his line of business. But is it what he wants. An opportunity presents itself for more. Bishop is somewhat lost through a lot of this book but the one centering him is April. Their connection is fast but strong. I loved this funny romance that had me in stitches more than once.
I enjoyed this story. Usually you have the strong alpha male who takes charge of everything and everyone. And tge woman who captures his attention and heart who is strong and confident enough to walk away when he gets to alpha. This is different. While Bishop is a strong alpha, there is a side that is unsure, hurt and not in complete control. April, while a strong woman, doesn't realize this in herself. Her insecurities are deep and getting confidence in herself is something she is unsure of and doesn't know how to do. Bishop and April complete each other. Their past hurts, though different, shaped them hugely and when they meet they find the person who can bring out their true selves. I enjoyed both character's who were well developed. The story flowed and the secondary characters added to the story. Loved their pets. And of course the hotness when they are together. I have to say I was also glad that the problems Bishop had with his family didn't just miraculously disappear because they realized they made a mistake.
this was a difficult book for me to get interested in. it started off a bit cliched with April meeting and jumping into bed with Bishop, then eavesdropping on a conversation between her Grandmother and her lover and fleeing. without even attempting to talk to either of them, just fleeing. which made me roll my eyes somewhat. the non-stop sex and oversharing with the grandma got a bit tiresome and dreary. but once the story left Fiji and returned to the states the storyline picked up quite a bit and I enjoyed April and Bishop's relationship. their growing as separate characters and as a couple occurred organically and interestingly. the relationship between Bishop and his family needs to be explored a bit more, and the over-sharing Grandma was VERY unrealistic to me and a bit annoying. that kind of talk I can understand and believe between friends NOT between a granny and her granddaughter. if you can stick with it past the first few chapters, the book improves immensly.
My Boss’s Secret is book #2 of the Kengsington Square series by Taryn Quinn (authors Taryn Elliot and Cari Quinn). Though it's #2, it can be read standalone, and has a happily-ever-after ending.
Oh, and it's SCORCHING!
April is on vacation in Fiji with her Grandmother -- it was supposed to be Gram's honeymoon, but, well, things didn't work out. She finds herself in the sights of a very handsome vacationing stranger, Bishop. They have an anonymous, no-questions-asked holiday affair that nearly melted my eReader. All too soon, the vacation had to end, and real-life beckoned.
Imagine their surprise when their paths meet again in Kensington Square! Imagine their surprise when, oops, Bishop is poised to be April's new boss!! Both main characters are imperfect, and they don't "fix" each other, which is awesome. Instead, they embrace the broken, and figure things out together.
Absolutely loved this story, and can't wait for the next!!
It’s no secret this is another five star read from Taryn Quinn. We’ve heard about April from her Besty‘s, Luna from “Wrong Bed Baby” in Crescent Cove and Ryan from “His Temporary Assistant” also in Kensington Square”. This low angst, hot, feel good read is amazing on it’s own, however, I feel it’s even better when read in series order. The time frame is the same as both of her friends, they are all falling in love simultaneously in their own books and as usual, you see characters you know and love from the previous books. April is a delightful character and Bishop is so intriguing, making them such a wonderful match. The humor is so good and the writing is so engaging, you feel as though you’re right there with the characters-I keep wanting to call them people because they’re just so real! I am desperately hoping to see this in Audible soon. Wen Ross and Kai Kennecott do such an amazingly awesome job bringing Taryn Quinn‘s characters to life!💖💖💖💖💖
Fun Read! Reviewed in Canada on October 27, 2021 Great book from two of my favourite authors...Taryn Quinn! This book has some really great laugh out loud moments, absolutely love April's grandmother. I wish I had one just like her. The condoms...the best!! April plays Cinderella for a few short days, and happens to meet her Prince. Not knowing he is to be here future boss...let the fun begin. A really great addition to an already awesome series. Can be read as a standalone, but I highly recommend reading them in order to understand the other characters and roles they play. The reoccurring characters are part of some of the really funny moments. There is lots of sizzling sexy times not to be missed. So hot at times...wow! Thanks for another great read ladies!!! Can't wait for the next one!!!
Fiji is the place for new beginnings and hit nights!
Taryn Quinn transports us to this universe that has every single thing you could possibly love about romance novels. Two strangers meet in Fiji and fall head over heels for each other. The nuances of could we or couldn’t we be something more drives the characters in this book so magnificently.
April is sweet, yet she is looking for more. Or she thinks she needs to let go to be able to be happy. Bishop is looking for something…something more and that something is April.
I dove into this story and fell hard for these two because they were so real about falling hard, but also having the doubts that come with something new.
We get to see Luna and Ryan and PMS and they add to the story and strong sense of friendships. We get to meet Michaela and let me tell you she is a supporting character I want so much more of!
You will not want to put this book down. And there is more in the series coming! Heck yeah!!!
Every now and then, a book will come and grab you by the heart strings and not let go.....My Boss's Secret is one of those books!
Bishop and April meet with vacationing in Fiji, but don't share their names or much personal information. It was meant to be a vacation fling.....way out of April's comfort zone. What they didn't count on was the chemistry they have. They way they just get each other.
As fate, or the witchy town of Kensington Square, would have it, they will be running into each other again. It’s not a road without bumps that they will need to navigate. They both have some baggage, mainly trust and abandonment issues....a subject matter these two authors handled beautifully.
Filled with laughter, some tears and some seriously steamy sexy times, this book is a must read!!!
Ohhhh I absolutely loved the secret identity no names and a instant chemistry .. so funny how the universe has a way of placing you at the right time with the right people!! Kismet is what I say !! I think it’s funny how April is so comfy around Bishop and She is so not around PMS (aka Preston ) lol I loved Luna and Ryan try to understand April’s quirks and also nudge her where she really needs to go !! I loveeee best friends ( I have 2 of the best too ) I wish I had a gram like April !! And ohhh I wanna smack his brother and that ex of his !! But back to my review absolutely loved this book !! And can’t wait for more ..
