This book was a cracking collection of literary fiction style short stories, and a big shout out is owed to the incredible Isabelle Kenyon for being kind enough to send me this one. She’s got great taste when it comes to short stories, and this is a testament to that. It was a refreshing take on the short story and one of those cool collections where the disparate stories all come together to provide an overall theme.

Sam Reese’s second collection, on a distant ridgeline, features twelve beautifully constructed stories that, though not lengthy in their word count (the whole collection is a slender 180 pages), certainly provide plenty for the reader to mull over and consider.
