A Feeling of Poetry: Thoughts from the inside

I often find myself wondering about the simple things that the world overlooks, and I ask the question, Can I dive deeper into life-deeper than what is just the everyday norm? A Feeling of Poetry takes you across the western plains of simplicity in "A Plan, across a Distant Land." And this book tries to explain, or you can travel through, "An Area of Distant Space," being there in the sky, together you and I. The imagination is sparked with creativity for its excitement, its sadness, its anger, its wonder, its realness. This experience is not so much about the outward, but more about the inward expression of oneself or the feelings of things we encounter. Taking a concept from "stop and smell the roses," have you ever stopped to think about these things and what they could mean? A Feeling of Poetry explores these emotions and asks the question, Will you, the reader, explore the actual feelings conveyed in this poetry?

"For it's the simple things that matter."

Is a fiction and poetry author who masterfully blends vivid imagery with profound emotional realism. In his collection, A Feeling of Poetry, Frost lures readers into a sensory world where, as he writes, “A blast of a boom and crackle fills my ears as the sky pours down tears.” His skillful command of language is the result of a lifelong dedication to the craft—a journey that began in the tenth grade when he first started building new worlds and characters.

Drawing from the innermost realms of the soul, Frost’s work is often described as deep, mesmerizing, and refreshingly nontraditional. For him, the goal is simple: "It is more than just a book; it’s about the reader’s experience."

A native of the Washington, D.C. area, Frost finds his greatest inspiration in the simplicity of nature. Whether he is camping or lying beneath a canopy of stars, the natural world fuels his creative spirit. Beyond his writing, he is an artist, entrepreneur, and IT Director with degrees in Information Technology, Computer Graphics, and Multimedia Design.

A Feeling of Poetry by Dorian Frost is a quiet, introspective collection that invites the reader to slow down and pay attention to the small, often-ignored corners of life. Even from the sample and description, it’s clear that Frost’s voice leans into simplicity not as something plain, but as something meaningful. Pieces like “A Plan, across a Distant Land” and “An Area of Distant Space” hint at a blend of grounded observation and wide open imagination, moving between earthly scenes and sky deep reflections.

What stood out to me is the way the author focuses less on external events and more on the inward emotional response. The poems touch on sadness, wonder, anger, and curiosity without trying to force a lesson. Instead, they open a space for the reader to feel and interpret. The tone reminded me of the idea of stopping to “smell the roses,” but with a stronger push toward understanding why those small moments matter.

This is a simple journey through the author's mind. Things that touch him, that touch us all in one way or another. A simple belief in God and the joy's of what he creates and struggles we can all relate to in one way or another. I am not even all of the way through this yet and felt compelled to encourage others to read it.
