Two sisters, two stories of love...one book! Shannan is a successful photographer with everything going for her, but love. With a freshly broken heart her image of love is blurred and she skeptical about opening her heart to love again. Then came Jabari. A handsome, charismatic mailman that gets her attention. But when his past threatens another blow to her heart, Shannan decides to fight back. With her camera and the help of her "ride or die" crew, will this photographer capture true love this time? Zaniyah, Shannan's younger sister, was enjoying the single life. Then came Brian, a blast from her past. As children, Brian the Nerd Boy and Z the hot, sassy cheerleader couldn't have been more different. All grown up now, Z is still a hottie and Brian has gone from nerd to handsome swan. Intrigued by the man Brian has become, Z enters into a "friends with benefits" relationship with him. Why not he's only in town for a short period of time? How was she to know that his kiss would make her mind go blank? Who told her heart to participate? Now Brian has to leave and all Zaniyah wants is for him to stay. "Then Came You" will make you believe in true love again!

I started my writing journey during the pandemic of 2020. As of February 2024, I have self-published and released 8 romance novels. Of the eight, four have won literary awards.
As a self-published author, I have also created a workshop titled, "From Pen to Published: The Road to Self-publishing". This workshop walks writers, step by step, through the process of becoming a self-published author.
I really enjoyed this read and what stood out to me most (other than the absolute yumminess known as Jabari) was the relationship between the sisters. I liked how Shannan was more level-headed and Zaniyah was always ready to jump in and shake things up. They always had each other's backs and I love how they supported each other through their journeys to find love.
Wow! Just wow! Reading this book was like going to a family reunion and getting warm hugs from long lost loved ones you miss and can’t wait to see again. Shannon and Zaniyah’s sister relationship really hit home for me. I’m really close to my older sister (who also happens to be a hobbyist photographer) and seeing Shannan and Z’s close relationship really endeared me to the characters from the get go.
I’m such a girl’s girl. So before I get into the swoony Heroes, I want to talk about the women. Nothing makes my heart grow more than seeing women supporting other women. And I saw so much of my friendships in the circle of friends from this book. I loved the banter, real talk and good old fashion girls having fun between Shannon, Zaniyah, Chris and Brea. I wanted to hang out with them!
Now the Heroes, yes plural because there are two Heroines, the Reed sisters. I’m going to try to not give too much away, but it’s hard to limit my gush about this book. Jabari and Brian are the last true gentlemen. They are happiest when their girls shine and are true supporters of their partner’s endeavors. How every man should be. They are swoony, hot and it’s clear why these men are loved, not only by their families, but by their ladies, as well.
From family bonds, to girl squads, and then to bromances, this book has love in all forms. When I ordered this book from Natalie, she inscribed, “May you always be surrounded by love.” And I’ll tell you what, dear readers, while reading this book, I was. And it’s a feeling I’ll carry with me in my everyday life.
Then Came You! What a relatable love story! I enjoyed this book about two sisters and their journeys toward love. I could imagine seeing this on the big screen… the characters were familiar & believable! I want to continue the journey & see where their next chapters take the two sisters!! We need the next installment please‼️ The love scenes are spicy but not over the top, done decently but allowing the reader to create your own picture! Well done for a first time romantic novel, I look forward to reading more from Natalie!
This book kept me up late the night I started it! The characters were engaging and relatable. Beautiful love stories for all people…but especially appreciated as a person of color! I look forward to continuing the series.
