An aging woman sacrifices more than she bargained for in her quest for eternal youth. A group of kids explore a decrepit slaughterhouse only to find that one of them won’t be coming home. And when a deep freeze strikes a small town, one man discovers something sinister lurking beneath the ice and snow…
Scare Street is proud to present fourteen tales of supernatural horror in one volume. A new entry into a library packed with your darkest dreams and your greatest fears.
As you walk through the dank, musty aisles, cobwebs brush across your skin. Creaking shelves tower on either side of you, a maze from which there is no escape. And the ancient tomes, bound in blood red leather call out to you…
Ravenous monsters, cackling witches, diabolical demons… Every malevolent spirit that has ever haunted your dreams waits for you here, trapped within these vellum pages.
Now the terror has been unleashed. And don’t forget… no screaming in the library!
Well, what can I say? After more than a dozen books in this series one would think the stories would become stale or repetitive. They just don't. There are offerings from Scare Street regulars Ron Ripley, Sara Clancy and David Longhorn's but also a healthy infusion of work from new authors. This means you get fresh ideas of what terror looks like and lemme tell ya, it looks mighty scary. If I have any complaints at all, it's that I felt that the endings of a couple stories could have been better. This in no way detracts from the overall quality of the body of work. It's just my observation. Anyone who enjoys horror is making a mistake if they don't give these Scare Street series a try. Even if horror isn't your favorite genre, you will like these shorts just for the drama.
Enjoy reading Horror at night with every light turned on? Remember it is only light that casts Shadows, and in the Shadows, what might lurk? Turn to five authors who spend much time peering into the Shadows, including long-term Scare Street regulars Ron Ripley, Sara Clancy, and David Longhorn. Just remember: Terror lurks in the Shadows.
Out of all the stories, only about 2, really made me glad that I was reading them. The rest were clueless and more perplexing than they should be for short stories. So I gave this edition a three star for their troubles. I doubt seriously I'll invest more of my reading time.
Oh good gracious! I absolutely love how many of these stories build on each other. They are the perfect way to end a night, and spend a few hours in spine-tingling horrorville.
Get ready for stories that will leave you breathless!! The Scare Street Crew never disappoints, and I look forward to seeing what they having coming next!
Some more quality stories I have come to expect and look forward to in this anology of short horror stories, I just wish there was more in each book....

This was a nice read for the Horror enthusiast. It was fairly scary at times and some parts kept me guessing, but I think I have read this genre enough that it is hard to surprise me. With that being said I enjoyed the read.
