Alessa is the innocent stepdaughter of one of the most powerful mob bosses this city has ever seen: my father, Carlito Rossi. She’s been groomed for one thing—to help the Rossi family gain even more power through a favorable marriage.
The only thing is, when the time comes for her to walk down the aisle, I can’t let her go. Not when I’ve always known she should be mine. When I want something, I won’t be denied. And though she’s my stepsister, I want Alessa more than anything in my entire life. But when her intended groom finds out and alerts the other families, will we be able to weather the impending storm?
MINK's Note: Grab your choice of caffeine and a fluffy kitty friend for this tabootale with a HEA.
I think this is one of the best Mink's books. A mafia and stepbrother story. Torino's father married Alessa's mother.
Torino is in love with Alessa, but since they are family, he tries not to do anything about it. But the clock is ticking and Torino has to do something about Alessa, or he's going to lose her forever.
It's a sweet, sexy and full of action story. The plot and the main characters are great, the story is well-formed. I really liked this one.
To be honest, their smut (segggsss) scenes are sooo freakin hot😋😋😋😋😋 of course mink’s books are totally safe romantic love story with guaranteed happy ending forever true love🥺🥺🥺🥺
The GOOD: Good sweet & sexy romance. Liked that both H&h secretly desired each other since they 1st met 5 years ago when then-13yo h's mafia mom married then-18yo H's mafia dad and were secretly devoted to each other. She didn't know that her love was returned but H did & deliberately distanced himself from h both in manner and physically (H left home to go to college) since she was too young & their parents wouldn't have approved of their romance. Loved that H secretly stalked h at home when he came back home as an attorney for his family now 5yrs later @ 23yo (i.e., watching her sleep & shower), despite him still acting distant from her like he'd always had to keep his desire for her a secret. The sex scenes were hot when H finally kissed & touched & soon devirginized 18yo h by 33% of the book.
Good characterization/character development. She became stronger as she got challenged by her arranged-engagement to a rival Irish mafia's son (OM) in order to prevent war with their Italian mafia group. Liked the mix of h's sweetness & innocence with her sexiness, unfolding assertiveness & grit so H killing for her actually turned her on. h was alot like her cool mafia mom. Liked H's mix of cold calculation & aggression to defend their mafia family with his softness & love for h & their parents. Loved H's OTT alpha-dominant possessive-protectiveness claimy “mine” attitude with h. Action-suspense scenes were exciting and not too much to distract from the romance. Nice epilogue 2 years later, with H&h married with a toddler son & h preggo with their 2nd.
MEH or the BAD: Their sexual chemistry was ok but would've been better & more exciting if shown more non-verbally than just told. 1-star off because the 1st 25% seemed more tell than show & there wasn't much of a challenge to their romance at that point. Lacked angst. The drama with OM was predictable. Emotionally, this book was even-keeled.
Sexual History: 18yo virgin h didn't date anyone since she'd only wanted H since meeting him at age 13 and had planned on marrying him since. H told h that he'd fallen for her since meeting her when he was 18 and he hadn't wanted any other woman since then. Quite sure he was celibate but not exactly mentioned. Her mom did notice that H didn't go to the whorehouses the other mafia men did nor did he date anyone in the 5 years since she married H's dad. So, H was very likely celibate since meeting h
"Possessive Stepbrother" is the story of Alessa and Torino.
A smutty tale of forbidden love between stepsiblings from a mafia family. When the villain from the enemy household decides to take the heroine as his bride, the hero finally decides to make his intentions known. They have kinky sex, and finally confess their love for one another.
I did not enjoy this, I skimmed most of it because I couldn’t connect with the characters or the story, I just wasn’t interested. Additionally , the smutty parts were very disappointing, not hot at all, in my opinion.
It was okay, I guess. It didn't hold my interest, but the writing style was good, so... 🤷♀️
Torino and Alessa met when he was 18 and she was 13. Their parents got married to form an alliance, but they truly fell in love along the way.
Anyway, Torino said he knew right then and there there's something different about Alessa, and although he doesn't understand his emotions at first, over the years he realized that even back then he knew she's the one for him.
And he said he has stopped playing games with other women since then. It wasn't directly told, but reading between the lines, I guess it's safe to say he's been waiting and celibate for years. 😐 It's a me problem, obviously, but I hoped this would be a dual virgin. Unfortunately, that isn't the case. 🥲
He had his fun before her, and Alessa never tried with anyone else because she fell in love right away with her stepbrother. It might've started as a teenage crush, but it soon became deeper and more for her.
Anyway, in the present time, their parents were preventing a war with a rival family; that's why they agreed to marry off Alessa. But Torino wasn't having any of it, and he finally showed his true feelings and staked his claim on her (in secret at first).
But no secrets can be hidden forever, and they got caught red-handed 🫣 So they finally told their parents about their relationship, and Torino said Alessa's going to be his wife.
There was some action and suspense since this is focused on organized crime. But, of course, that was handled in the end.
Overall, it was okay, but it didn't intrigue me as much as I'd hoped it would.
Book info: - Novella - Step-siblings - Organized crime - Violence - Attempted SA - No cheating, breakup - No real owd (a woman talk to him, and she got jealous) - No real omd (she's engaged, but didn't want to do it) - Virgin FMC, Celibate MMC (???) - HEA (2 years later, married with kids)
PS. The epilogue was ridiculous; it was only two years later, but their first kid is already speaking in full sentences. And their second kid was already walking on his own. Idk, anything about kids, but I don't think those things would've been impossible in real life. 🤔 Also, she's pregnant with their third baby. I mean, can all of these things happen in a span of two years???
4.5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Wow, was this fantastic! I've always been a sucker for forbidden romance and this was just so good and actually managed to keep my attention the entire way through (that's quite an accomplishment😅). There's just no way you can go wrong with a SUPER possessive, jealous and sexy Hero...
The scenes where Torino (H) became furiously jealous (and slightly psychotic) at the thought of another man touching Alessa were my favourite- no other man was allowed to BREATHE near his woman, or his gun would get veryyy close and personal to them😂👌
SAFETY: ~No OW ~OM (who she's *sort of* engaged to bc of a Mafia alliance between clans) tries to touch her, but the Hero has NONE of that🔥👀 ~Sexyy time that was just😍👌
Really really good. The H is possessive and spurned by jealousy. The h is impertinent and gives him a rise each time. Can’t get any better. I’d say 4.5 maybe cuz it’s a little out of my comfort zone and not because of the step brother part. The ending was all action and the epilogues were rushed. But Mink out did herself this time. Loved it!!
Ok so here's the thing, right now I'm in a HUGE romance novella phase (I mean when am I not, I honestly can't get enough of them), and I had no idea to what read. So after going through pretty much all of Alexa Riley and Jessa Kane's books, I randomly stumbled across this one.
This book right here just went so smoothly- I loved the overall structure and writing, it truly worked well and just led to such a fun and quick read. I was getting some serious Alexa Riley vibes, and I'm all here it. For my first book by MINK, I have to say it went really well- so do not be surprised if you just see me just binge-reading after this.
I mean we got ourselves some serious mafia vibes with a lot of spice and some drama- I'm honestly a sucker for this stuff.
When it comes to the spice, this is the best I’ve read from Mink so far. It’s cute and tame, but it was still haaawt + a lot.
🩷’d: • As soon as the H met h, he stopped entertaining all other women EVEN away at college when he and h were separated • H was willing to die for h, period. • h’s mom, being the mastermind (I wish the parents had a book.)
⚠️ + Info: - Instalove - Dual POV - Virgin h🍒 & H is experienced but definitely not a man304 - No: cheating, sharing, or 3rd act break up - Tiny push/pull: most of it was off screen, but because it’s forbidden H pushes away and h thinks her love is one sided until the H gives in. - Attempted Rape: H saves h - OMD: h is arranged to marry OM & arch nemesis of H - OWD: h gets jealous of a woman speaking to H, but she means nothing to him. - Side characters: Their parents >>>> - HEA: Happily married w/ kids🩷

Just when you think MINK can’t get any hotter she delivers this steamy, hot gem.
Explosive chemistry, taboo romance awaits you. Torino has been in love with Alessa from first glance. She’s everything, she’s also his stepsister. He’s obsessed with her. Watching, wanting. He’s never crossed the line.
Alessa loves Torino. It’s a love she’s held secret. She’s older now, legal. Maybe he’ll see her as a woman and not his sister.
It all comes to a head when Alessa is promised to another.
Hell will freeze over before Torino allows another to touch what belongs to him.
It’s a must read. If you like your alphas hot and dirty talking then you can’t go past mink.
What a great love story. Not only do we get to see Alessa and Torino's love play out we also get glimpses of their parents great love. I hope to be seeing more of these couples in the future.
I have never before read anything by this author, however after seeing this particular book pop up in my Bookbub and Goodreads feeds a bunch of times I decided to check it out. And I found it to be an interesting twist on what has quickly become a fairly typical over-the-top, suspenseful and exhilarating taboo-ish love story scenario.
“Possessive Stepbrother” is the tale of Torino and Alessa. Torino being the only son of mob boss, Carlito Rossi. A young man next in line to take over the “family business” a business currently more powerful than ever after Carlito makes a strategic business move and marries mafia widow Allegra, an arrangement combining two influential forces into one after Allegra’s own mafia boss husband dies. However while theirs may be a sound match, one that secures more power and resources for the Rossi empire, it comes with (much to Torino’s dismay) an additional person, Allegra’s daughter Alessa. A young woman of eighteen, a mafia princess in her own right, one expected to support the new family dynasty in the only way she has been raised to, through marriage. Yet when duty comes and one such strategic match is proposed that will align the Rossi’s with a rival family, all hell breaks loose as no longer can Torrino deny how he really feels for the stepsister he has come to view as his own, feelings that unbeknownst to him, Alessa feels for him in return.
What follows is a rather explosive, violence filled, Romeo and Juliet-esque tale of unreasonable love. A love that, despite the chaos and taboo surrounding it, will not be denied, one that Torrino and Alessa both intend to fight for regardless of the ultimate cost. And it is a wild, passionately unhinged ride from start to finish.
I do have to say, after reading this one I don’t completely agree with the assertion of some of the other reviewers calling this book “creepy” or containing a “creeper vibe”. I say this for two main reasons; one is the general context of the plot itself. The Rossi’s are written as a deeply traditional mafia family where loyalty to the family, securing the future and profitability of the family enterprise is more important than personal needs and wants. It is a plot similar to those contained in other mafia books or books about royal families where it was quite frankly fairly commonplace for marriages to be arranged and often consisted of individuals within the family itself. And while here they are yes, technically family through marriage, they are not actually blood related. The second reason is the fact that despite Torino being attracted to Alessa from the time they first meet, this is not a case of some thirty-five year old lusting after a ten year old, at the time of their parents’ marriage they are thirteen and eighteen, and he almost immediately leaves for college not returning until years later. So there is no actual physical contact until after she comes of age. Now, would the author have been better off not having the ages be quite so young, perhaps. Would she have been better off leaving this a bit of thechapter where it gets discussed out so the easily triggered section of the population wasn’t quite so quick to pounce? Probably.
However, when you consider the larger framework it makes rather simple sense as children within this context would be groomed from an early age to marry young and create suitable power matches for the sake of the family. So for me, I didn’t have a problem with the age difference here, nor did I find it creepy as others have. It simply is what it is within the fictitious world of the Rossi family mafia empire. In the end I found this one to be an interesting take on a well-worn romance trope.
Naughty mafia romance with an endlessly possessive stepbrother who can't stand the thought of losing the woman of his dreams to a rival family.
It's over-the-top obsessive, smutty fun.
Torino and Alessa have been harbouring feelings and lust for each other in secret until an arranged marriage pushes the man beyond his patience and he claims her in angry but very welcome ways. She thrives on his strong and dangerous attitude, and he fights against all odds to keep her by his side.
I loved it! It's hot, it's exciting, and the family dynamics are twisted and loving and deadly. I think that was my favourite part when all the Rossi family stood together to defy the world and claim their romances. Really enjoyable. Though I missed more interactions with the cat :-D
Torino knows Alessa is meant to be his, but she’s his step sister so that makes things more complicated. Especially now that her mom has promised her to their enemies!! Torino knows that will never happen, even if he has to go to war with every crime family in the city!! Bring. It. On.
Safe read h virgin H celibate since he seen her No ow drama Om drama from who she is promised to Epilogue 2 years
This might be one of the better books that I've read by this author. It felt like a complete story, which I'm not sure I always get. The mafia was light, though there was some unaliving to be had. The stepbrother thing was more prevalent however there could have been more family interactions to really drive the taboo theme home.
I don't know why but I have trouble getting into the story... It took me almost two years to finish the book... anyway, after a while it was a nice story to read, Torino is a possessive main character and the overall story was pleasant to read.
Stepbrother, check! Mafia, check! OTT alpha, check! It’s got all the pieces we love to feed our souls. Lots of drama and suspense along the way to their HEA.
