Differentiating Textbooks: Strategies to Improve Student Comprehension and Motivation

Rate this book
Differentiating Textbooks is the next logical—and practical—step toward improving your students' ability to read, comprehend, and retain what they are taught in content-area textbooks. Find out how to motivate your students as they are confronted with text which is generally written in a less-than-engaging expository style. This helpful guide shows you how to teach the child, not the textbook, and as with differentiated instruction, you will soon discover that this approach is "just part of good teaching."

The book has great 1-2 page strategies for small inquiries into reading your textbook. Many of them are graphic organizers involved or include overhead transparencies. If differentiating textbooks was more up-to-date and used more online resources it would be 5 stars.

Even without the technology it is a good old-school teaching book, for those like me who have no technology.

Good ready to use differentiating activities. Instructions are clear and easy to follow. They are also easily adaptable.
