이 정도 서비스는 아무에게나 해주는 것이 아니었다.

그러나…….

“사, 살려 주세요, 제발…….”

간신히 눈물을 참고 있던 레나가 기어코 눈물을 뚝뚝 떨어트리며 또다시 살려달라고 빌기 시작했다.
그의 미소에 붙은 ‘신들도 반하게 할’이라는 수식이 무색해지는 순간이었다.

‘보통이 아니군. 역시 의심스러워.’

Although I enjoyed reading most of the novel, at some point it felt like all characters became very dumb somehow ? and especially for the duke it seemed out of character at times.

Me gusto este manhwa. Me gusta la relación de Lena y Carhel. Lena es ingenua e inocente dado de que ella reprime el maltrato familiar. Carhel es solitario dado por su maldición cuando conoce a Lena es inmune a su poder. Él se pone abierto, aunque un poco dominante con Lena por no querer perderla.
Odie por completo al Duque de Santella dado que presiona a su hija para obtener poder sobre el Reino.
La grafica esta muy buena y se da acorde a la trama.

disclaimer: I did not read the light novel, this book is gonna be a place holder for the manhwa that I read.

I stumbled upon this because of another story of Lemon Frog; Not Your Typical Reincarnation Story. I absolutely LOVE that manhwa, the plot was amazing and the characters were so endearing. I was so in love with the story that I needed to satiate my hunger with other similar webcomics while waiting for more chapters to be released. I thought another work of the same author would hit just the same, right? Well... maybe it was my fault for having such high expectations for The Duke's Cursed Charm but I was really disappointed. Edit: NYTRS was rewritten by Doyosay, so that might be the difference in quality...

The plot felt kind of generic: Powerful, rich and HANDSOME but lonely Duke learns what it means to be loved by a lowely peasant girl spoiler: which turns out is not a peasant at all but a lost relative of the powerful, divine, royal lineage making her the heir to the Queendom. So sadly no class criticism after all... The worldbuilding was ok, you kinda get a feeling of why the Dukedoms serve the Queen and the magic behind it but at the same time a lot of questions stay unanswered or interesting elements don't get explored more (e.g. demons, other kingdoms and sage village).

The thing that bothered me most was the Duke himself. His whole character makes no sense to me. spoiler: Carhel got cursed as a CHILD to make everyone in his vicinity horny af for him, so much so that they want to kill/hurt him and themselves, making him known as the devilish Duke. He, understandably, is traumatized. My complain tho is that DESPITE of the curse there being people that can be around him without causing a ruckus, e.g. his butler who as a former knight has high aura or sth like that. Additionally, people can be in his vicinity without going crazy when they drink purification potions form the church. The Duke is rich af, why don't they hand out those potions to the staff? Why is he described as chronically lonely when there is always staff around him working at the Duke's estate???
Because of that (unjustified) loneliness he falls head over heels for our female lead Lena, since she is too powerful to be influenced by the curse. There is no other reason in my eyes why their romance blossoms, which I find kinda lazy and boring.
I didn't give this 1 star tho because I was intrigued just enough to finish the series.
