On the distant shores of Perfugia, Lukys and Sophia have finally found sanctuary-and an unexpected power left by their ancestors. But their refuge cannot last. The inhuman Tangata are marching upon humanity, and divided by war, the kingdoms cannot stand against them.

Meanwhile, Erika flees the Mountains of the Gods, the weight of failure heavy on her shoulders. Far from coming to humanity's aid, the Gods have sided with the enemy. Erika seeks to warn her friends of the coming threat, but she returns to find a world at war. The Flumeeren Queen has turned against her neighbours-and while she claims to want only unity, it matters not to her whether the kingdoms submit willingly, or by the sword.

In a world torn by war, can Lukys, Sophia and Erika bring together the scattered forces of humanity in time to face the coming threats?

Or will human civilisation Fall again?

Wow what an amazing and thrilling ending to his great series this book has given us. Lukys and Sophia, now sovereigns of Perfugia decide to start gathering allies for the upcoming war with Maya, the Old One who was gathering her own army of Tangata. With the king on their side they travel to Flumeer and take over the city of queen Amina whilst she is away and prepare to take a stand there against the army which was approaching. Maya had the power of the voice and was forcing the Tangata to do her will and none could oppose her. However Adonis, her partner was having doubts as he saw how ruthless she was. Unless humans, Anahera, the Calafe and the Tangata who like Sophia had not succumbed to Maya's powers, got over their fears and prejudices about one another to stand united, they were all doomed. Only love could save them against the evil they were about to face. But could they put their history behind them, races who had fought one another forever? I love the powerful imagery in this book, and the way our characters managed to fight their own hatreds and fears first in order to confront an evil which should have remained dead and in the past. I did not expect the ending, we got I must admit but it does leave scope for more books to be written in the same world and I look forward to these.

Very Disappointed , DNF

I enjoyed the first two books in this series although the ending in the second book was a surprise. SPOILER ALERT — the author killed off one of the MC’s and turns out that the character was the one that kept the story going and enjoyable.

Starting with book three, I started skimming halfway through. The story got lost with a lot of fantasy nonsense and plot, subplots that weren’t very interesting.

For instance, the author spends significant time on an MC that was a spoiled princess who’d sell her own mother for any type of gain or societal advancement in the first two books. And she’s still not only around but author has her actions going between a witch and a nun. Just had to swallow and continue with series.

No characters to embrace and a storyline that is lackluster at best after book two. Nothing that excites nor wanting to know or understand. Why the high ratings puzzles me.

I loved following Lukys, Sophia and Erika through this amazing journey. Will the Tangata prevail? Will the Flammeeren Queen prevail? Will humanity prevail? The answers are in this book! Our heroes have a daunting task just to survive... Expect the unexpected with power struggles, intrigue, betrayal, uneasy alliances and survival in the worst of circumstances. ... Here is unforgettable characters and great world building. I fully enjoyed this epic journey that captured my imagination from beginning to end. The perfect fantasy escape!

Every new entry in this series was getting worse, more convoluted. This one is no exception and turned out to be quite a chore at some points. Yes, it's apparently a part of the bigger lore so that should explain some of the backstory, but as someone whose first entry into this world were these four books, the mitology of the world just left me so so confused. And that ending... Just when I hoped it is a nice ending with everything wrapped up, another blow for this book.

Great finish to the series with all the main protagonists coming together for the final showdown in the two main theatres of the war. We see the mysterious history behind some of the characters revealed and as some seek to redeem themselves, others are doomed by their evil intentions.

Warring parties have crossed the lines with The Old One from long ago and able to control and lead with her voice. A cruel thing and another coming from a different direction. Fighting with beings that has strength unimaginable and some with magical powers were hard to beat. A verocious read with strong, relentless characters coming at you from all directions. A good book and a terrific writer!

WHAT!!!

I haven't read a book that the ending had completely shocked me like this in a very long time. And here I thought it was the end. Now we have to wait until you return to the world before we find out what happens. Well played, well played. Can't wait.

Horrible

Books are slow and boring. Ending is unnecessary and ruin’s the story!! Author thinks they are leaving a cliffhanger but instead created a full stop!

In truth I was concerned

As I began reading this installment I was seriously concerned. So many Authors lose their way and the plot just withers on the vine... In the beginning it seemed this story was doomed to a similar fate. But I am relieved to say the Author was only taking a deep breath as he gathered his and the readers thoughts and surged forward to tell an enjoyable tale. It was a good book and a fun read. Well done

Seriously?

Terrible Ending. Story leapfrogs from one disaster to another with no breather. This reads more like anti-fantasy than grimdark fantasy.
