Maybe you know, maybe you don't. Maybe you relate to one, maybe you relate to many. Maybe you're an ally... or maybe you are just deviant.

Let your pride flags fly high as you dive into this collection of poetry and prose from writers of every colour of the rainbow. In a celebration of discovery and acceptance, these writers share their experiences of intersectionality, (in)visibility, orientation, identity and so much more.

This book contains poems and stories written by twenty two (22) members of the LGBTQIA+ community from all around the world. It talks about their experiences and feelings, some still questioning their identities while some truly confident of who they are, how the society sees them and how they are still considered outcasts. There are several first time writers and their voices are equally impactful as the rest. The title matches with the content of the book. Almost Love by Niamh Hennessey @niamhhennessyyoga and My Swan Song by Shelby Catalano @shelbycatcreates are my favourite poems of the lot. If you are a member of the community, you'll feel represented and if you're are ally, you'll get to know what the people feel. This was a pleasant read. If you're looking for a quick read with lots of representation, pick this up.

"While the sun can learn to reflect,
Why does the world deflect?"
.
Do you know what this line is referring to? Pay attention to the details,I think you might get it if not pick up this book of Anthology where QUEER people from all around the world have come together and voiced their stories, their struggles, what they want to say.
.
Deviant: Chronicles Of Pride an Anthology that has been compiled by Samitha Reddy is a book that is needed in every household, and the poems, stories and verses and prose should be read all day, everyday.
.
The Anthology is an attempt by the editor Samitha Reddy to compile voices of different kinds who refuse to be put in a box or stories of individuals who are yet to come to terms with who they truly are.
.
A single anthology is not enough to tell what a queer individual has gone through or is going through in their lives.
.
The anthology comprises of seasoned writers or first time writers who speak what their heart wants to say and some who are still not able to say it.
.
The stories and poems are divided across the spectrum and is not limited to just the LGBTQIA+ as you go further in the anthology you understand or get an idea that the identity is much more than the rainbow. Some identities are not there in the rainbow.
.
Some are struggling with who they are and still learning about their own sexuality.
.
The Anthology also reminds us that by restricting queer people to certain labels whether in the spectrum or outside of it we are yet again putting them in boxes and as the editor points out the heteronormative world we are living in has restricted the straight, the binary to definitions and it's about time we all try to shed that label or atleast try to do so.
