Love finds you when you least expect it…

KAYLA

I came home to Westmount Island, and my two sisters, after a terrifying experience overseas. I miss the confident and carefree person I used to be and the sleepy small town we grew up in is just what the doctor (or therapist in this case) ordered. But I have no intention of staying; my dream is to travel the world. Until Sam and his son Toby come along, and I start to see that falling in love could be the answer to what I’ve been searching for all along.

SAM

When my wife died in childbirth, I accepted that love wasn’t in the cards for me. As a self-employed, single dad, I don't know what I'd have to offer a woman at this point, anyway. Westmount Island seems like the perfect place to start over: a quiet backdrop for my writing career and a slower, more relaxed life for my son Toby and I. But when Toby stumbles into Kayla Michaels on the ferry, that plan goes out the window. She brings fun, chaos, and happiness back into our lives. I never saw her coming, but now I can’t imagine life without her.

Falling Again is the second book in Julia Jarrett’s Westmount Island Trilogy and is a small town/single dad, romance read. Born and raised on the island, Kayla now travels the world as a renown photographer. Unfortunate circumstances force her back home. Meeting Sam and his son Toby, on the ferry, throws her for a loop. Her attraction to the sexy, single dad is immediate and reciprocated by the handsome man. For his part, Sam is dedicated to being the best dad he can be and relationships are not on his radar. But he is mesmerized by the woman on the ferry, as is Toby. Careful of what bringing a woman into their lives means, he none the less pursues Kayla. There’s nothing I love more than watching two people not looking for love, find it. Things between Kayla and Sam progress quickly and watching them get their happily ever after, is an emotional roller coaster ride, making this a read in one sitting romance. Falling Again gets the judy.ann.loves.books stamp of approval, TBR and Enjoy!

I received an arc if this book in return for an honest review.
This is the second book in the Westmount Island series of novellas.
It’s a short and steamy book following Kayla as she returns to her island home after working away for a long time, and just like her twin sister, Ella, Kayla finds love on the ferry back to her island.
Sam is the man she meets along with his 5 year old son Toby. The story is sweet and romantic along with a good bit of steam for a novella. You also get to catch up with Ella and their sister Tawny in this book too.
A good short read that needs to be read in order.

Falling Again by Julia Jarrett

She is just an amazing writer. I loved it. Something about a second chance of love just makes your heart warm up especially knowing that it is a possibility. This one is about a single dad falling all over again for a woman who weren’t expected to fall in love and of course the child is adorable. From the beginning you can feel the connection and chemistry these characters have and the development of things was amazing. Such a lovely and quick read. If you are into romance this is for you.

Falling Again is the second book in the Westmount Trilogy and a small town/single dad trope.

Kayla has been traveling all over the world for her job as a photographer. After she gets in a nasty situation situation she decides it's time to go home for a short period to be with her family.
On the ferry she meets single dad Sam &  his son Toby. There is an instant click between the three of them, and they start to spend time together. Sam soon knows, Kayla is it for him, but does she feels the same? Will she even stay on the island?

Kayla & Sam are perfect for each other. They immediately connect and have so much chemistry.  I loved how open they were and how well they communicated.

Sam's son, Toby is so adorable. Children in books are always portrayed as these perfect little creatures. So I was glad the author decided to not take that road. Toby is a good child, but he has his moments where is is moody or naughty. He felt like a real child, I really liked that.

I love the bond between Kayla & her sisters. She has been away for a long time, but there isn't any awkwardness and they talk & tease as they always did.

If you love stories set in a small town, with a strong, independent heroine, a swoon worth hero, an adorable child and lots of steam, than Falling Again is the book you need to read.

I received an ARC from the author in return for an honest review.

This story finds Ella’s twin sister Kayla on the same ferry coming home after a life threatening experience. She couldn’t leave Westmount Island fast enough when she was younger, but she needs to recharge and so she’s back. She meets this charming little boy on the ferry and soon his father follows. Sam and Toby charm Kayla in no time and trying to find alone time is challenging with a five year old. “I see you, Kayla Michaels. Just you. And I really like what I see.” The stars align, but are they willing to take a chance on them.

I have a soft spot for single dad romances and I loved this one. Sam and Toby are everything – their relationship was so special and loving! But Sam is also incredibly sexy. Kayla is strong, independent, a world traveler who is reevaluating her life. She and Sam have an instant attraction, their feelings develop quickly, as do her feelings for Toby.Their passion and love for each other is palpable. This is a delightful, steamy insta-love romance with a great cast of secondary characters, a must for any TBR list. Advanced copy provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.

This is the 2nd book in the Westmount Island Trilogy
Kayla was born on the island and has been traveling the world as a renown photographer. After an incident happened that shook her up she decides to return to the island as her therapist suggests to recoup but not to stay. While on the ferry home a 5yr old boy named Toby bumps into her and then his dad Sam shows up. Sam is a widower and has decided to move to the island for a slower pace to raise his son and get his writing career back on schedule.
Both are smitten but he's moving there and she is only there for a visit or is she? He hasn't been in a relationship since his wife, is he ready to begin again?

It's a short story and Toby is a cutie.

I love a good single dad story, and I really liked Sam and adorable Toby. Kayla was interesting but while I embraced Ella and Marcus’s insta-love, the addition of a child in this case made the whole thing seem a bit rushed. I’m not doubting that Kayla was drawn to him, but to commit to not only a relationship with Sam, but one with a child you just met...I had to suspend belief more than once.
I still liked Kayla and Sam as a couple, but I needed a bit more of both their backgrounds and their personalities. Great writing and both funny and hot, but I had trouble connecting.

So this was kinda the same story line as the first book but with a single dad romance. This book was sweet and adorable. Sam and his son Toby had always been a team but a chance meeting on a ferry, changes things for them. They are moving to the Island to start fresh. Kayla is coming back to her hometown for a break and didn't expect to fall in love. This is quick and fun read!

This is hands down my favorite novella in this series. I love a second chance romance and single-dad Sam deserves just that. Kayla is a lovely surprise and seeing her open her heart and world to Sam and Toby is beautiful to watch.

Sam and Kayla meet cute on the ferry to Westmount Island when Tobie, Sam’s little boy, chats her up. Kayla is a world-traveling photographer coming home to her small island home and her two sisters after a scary experience. Sam, an author and single dad, is moving to the island to provide he and his son a lower stress environment. Are they moving in opposite directions or can they find a way to become a family on the small island?

This is part of a series of 3 “insta-love” novellas about 3 sisters who grew up on the island. They are short easy enjoyable reads - I recommend all of them.

Are you in the mood for another steamy novella set in the Westmount Island series!? Because if you are, then make sure you read Falling Again to your TBR soon.

I loved photographer Kayla and single father Sam so much! Much like Ella and Marcus’ story, they met on the ferry and had an instant connection, the only problem being that Kayla wasn’t sure if she’s ready to come home for good. And Sam and his son? We’ll they brand new residents in Marcus’ eco-friendly housing development. This short novella, had just the right amount of drama, steam and insta love! It’s such a great read and palate cleanser!!!

Single dad romance

Single dad romance. Mega swoon! This is the second book in the Westmount Island series. It’s really has it all. Kayla recently went through a trauma that she is not ready to talk to her sisters about. Marcus is looking for a fresh start as a single dad.

“Dad Sam has left the room and Man Sam is up to bat” probably my favorite line in this book.

Kayla and Sam meet on a ferry through Sam’s son Toby. This is the novella you didn’t know you needed. It’s fast paced and a phenomenal read. I really enjoyed this romance.

Did you say single dad? I'm in!

I'm loving this fun novella series set on a little island that requires ferry passage to get there. This ferry is magic I swear. Kayla is coming home after being all over the world and Sam is looking for a fresh start. Neither see love in their future but this little island has plans of its own and these two are immediately into each other. Except it's tricky because Sam has a son to think of before bringing women into their lives. Great story to watch them fall in love.

I just loved it and cant't wait to read the next one!

Ugh Kayla and Sam are so bloody cute.
I really liked this one, and it was such an easy, feel good book.
With novellas, you can often find they don't have enough character development or time to really tell a story but this is done so well and nothing is lacking. There's steam and heart and emotion and it's done so well that you don't miss a single beat.
The author has beautifully managed to create a world and characters that you truly feel for and want to know more about.

This is the 2nd book in this trilogy and is Sam and Kayla’s story. Kayla is returning to her small hometown after a terrible accident, as this is what her therapist recommended to recoup, while Sam is a widower and single dad to his little son Toby, and he moves for a fresh start. While on the ferry boat Toby knocks into Kayla, and there is an instant connection between her and Sam. This is a well written quick read, which is heartfelt, emotional, and a steamy little story. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

❤ Insta love
❤ Single dad
❤ Small town

What a super sweet and steamy little novella where we got to head back to Westmount Island and meet another hot newcomer, and who doesn't love a single dad ❤

I love Sam and Kayla together, they are the perfect match for each other and exactly what both of them needed at this point in their lives though they weren't even aware of that fact themselves haha.

I also love that we got to catch up with Marcus, Ella and Tawny in this novella and I'm really looking forward to catching up with them all again in book 3. This series definitely needs to be read in order for it to make sense though would make a great standalone if that is all you like.

Great storyline. Great characters and a great setting.

I am finding that "hot single dad" is quickly becoming one of my newest favorite trope - especially when they are written as GOOD parents. It's just so cute to see a dad interact with his child, while also trying to balance falling in love.

Sam and Kayla are adorable from the beginning and I appreciated the tension created by the element of not getting alone time to share their feelings. Kayla is returning home from a traumatic work experience, and finds that it's not only being closer to her sisters that make her want to stay permanently.

Really enjoyed the second of three books in this novella series!

I have fallen in love with this island and the characters. Sam is a single father to Toby, they are moving to the Island and meet Kayla on the ferry, and the rest is history. I loved the instant connection between Sam and Kayla . I always love a single parent romance and this sweet novella was just perfection.

RATING: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2

Playful, sweet, and 'adowable' insta-love novella! Sam and Kayla have an instant, natural connection. I loved that their story embodied finding your home in another person.

This story also shows the importance of finding strength and comfort in loved ones. In this case, it was Kayla's sisters being supportive as Kayla deals with the effects of an incident on her last photoshoot.

Sam's son, Toby, is a little scene-stealer. He is super energetic and you help but melt for this little dude who has troubles with his Rs. Sam talks about competing with his son for Kayla's attention but he also was competing with Toby for the readers' hearts. This father-son duo will make you swoon.

I did not want this story to end. I want more of Kayla, Sam, and Toby.

This is the perfect book if you are looking for a small town, single dad romance with a charming 5-year-old in a novella length.
