The message is simple but very useful. There is a reason they have lasted so long.

This book was a great adaptation of Aesop's fable. The pictures made it interesting for younger kids. I thought the pictures and the way the characters were drawn were cute. This book has a good lesson behind it. I loved the kindness of the ant at the end.

April 12, 2012This is a story about "work before play". There is a lot you can do with this story. In a science lesson, you could discuss the responsibilities and "niche" of animals. There are many possibilities with this story, and it teaches a great lesson. I would use this story with any age students, but with that specific science topic, I would probably use it with fourth or fifth graders.
