funny, yes. but not funny ha ha, funny weird.

i could go into visceral detail, listing everything as to why this was so bad and fucked up, and not the fun type of fucked up, but i could be spending that time reading a book i actually like. the sad thing is, this had the potential to be really unique and disturbing since the premise was bizarre but riveting, and the writing was good.

but the author chose to make the story very shallow, with no fleshed-out or complex characters who all share the same brain cell. watching a fully grown man treat a young girl like he did... with the godawful past and trauma he knew she had? again, weird.
”What. The. Fuck. Where. You. Thinking?”
She blinked up at me, confused.
“You didn’t intend for me to die?”

all of this is spoilers rn, but i feel like it’s my civil duty to warn everyone away from this inherently bad book :) call me a bitch, but i wish other reviews had been this honest.

after she’s raped by OM the hero finds out the she mercy-killed his daughter who was also sex trafficked, like the heroine. his daughter begged the h to kill her bcos she couldn’t live like that anymore. instead of, oh you know... asking the heroine about what happened he locks her in a cage like the one her abuser (her “master”) used to lock her in.

then during the day he allows her to train for this big ballet recital which is where he has actually planned to kill her, publicly. he literally intends for her to die, for her to burn to death in the same opera house where she was abused for most of her teen years. obviously at the last second he finds out the truth about his daughter so saves the heroine. and she insists he doesn’t need to ask her for forgiveness and that they should just leave the past behind them...

description

oh yeah, and im 99% sure the hero just had some weird infatuation with the heroine bcos of his daughter— they were the same age, they knew each other and she reminded him of his daughter. like he was trying to fill the void of her loss but through a perverted sexual fantasy.

and don’t get me started on the reveal about Ofelia and Delia like i wanted to bang my head against a wall. like you’re gonna tell me that on the last page of the damn book. with no resolution?

idk. like i said, this could have been the juicy kind of fucked up. but instead, i have a headache after finishing this.

save yourself.

I was quickly won over by the first chapter of this book. It sorta reminded me of Life of Anna, with the whole dancing parts albeit not as gory dark as Anna. But man, it was still pretty dark.

This book follows Ofelia, the ward and Nico, the guardian. Nico saved Ofelia when she was a kid from this underage prostitution ring (or something equivalent to that).

Something that I really like about the book though was the unique structure of the writing, where we got this short paragraphs in between long chapters. You can get a lot of hints from them.

With that said, it was pretty frustrating to see the plot to unfold when you already figured out what the twists going to be. Other than that, it was pretty good!

This was my first read by C. Lymari and I was enthralled from start to finish.
Hauntingly beautiful. Dark and mind blowing. Twisted and soul crushing. Oh so hot and steamy.
I devoured this book and didn't want it to end!

The sultry dance between Nico and Ofelia was 𝑬𝑽𝑬𝑹𝒀𝑻𝑯𝑰𝑵𝑮. It made my heart soar. I couldn't get enough. Their relationship was not normal at all. It was raw and gritty. It would cause many eyebrow raises and whispers. It was far from perfect, but it was perfect for them.
Counting down the pages until all control snaps. Hero or villain? Lies or truths?
Will he be her doom or will he help her to rise up once again?

You need to go into this book with a open mind and heart. You won't be disappointed. You will be enchanted by the dance of the dead. You'll willingly give your emotions over to this dark, but oh delicious read.

This was my first read by this author and I’m definitely going to try her other things she’s written.
This story had a lot of kinks that I adore. Taboo galore. Complex characters. Intriguing plot. Perfect amount of grump. All yum.

I just wished the last few chapters didn’t feel like a skip to ten years later kind of feeling. Plus she was just raped and we get thrown a huge plot twist. (Which I saw coming a mile away) but still. Good soup.

This is the first time reading a C Lymari book and it definitely won't be my last.
Swan Song was so well written and the characters so splendidly developed that I could not put this book down.
Nico is a man on a mission who rescues a small, slight ballerina who has been through so much in her young life. Ofelia becomes his little swan in his dance company but she comes with baggage and nightmares.
Dark, disturbing, full of unrequited love...but spine chilling as hell! This story will stick with me for years to come.

trigger warning; mentions of r*pe and abuse in review

i honestly have no idea what to say. i did not like this book at all. i don’t understand why everyone loves this and claims it’s an age gap romance, when nico was literally ofelias father figure and called himself her dad?? is it weird that that bothers me a lot? and it felt very unnecessary for the author to go into detail during the r*pe scenes, and to include so many of those scenes. yes, it’s part of the plot, but i really did not want to read about it happening? it wasn’t overly detailed but there was still details and i was not a fan.

i was also uncomfortable when nico was angry with ofelia and repeatedly had sex with her for days in a row when she was literally stuck in her room and not allowed to leave? that just did not sit well with me idk. like i guess she agreed to it kinda but he literally left her there for days and made her think he was gonna kill her and he didn’t even bother trying to learn the whole story about what happened to her. also he was mad at her about something that happened while she was forced to work for r*pists and gross disgusting men and she was abused so badly. nico made it seem like what happened to her wasn’t a big deal too. i just don’t understand how people support that.

i was just very uncomfortable while reading this and the only thing i liked was the plot twist which was literally on the LAST page. i think this is the most disturbing book i’ve ever read. maybe others might enjoy this, but it was not for me.

***5 "My little ballerina!!!" stars***

NOW AVAILABLE!!!

"It started with a broken soul covered in blood..."

Wow!!! I'm realy impressed!!!
This was a forbidden, taboo story which had the ability to be labeled as something wrong, but damn me, if it wasn't feel right!!!
I loved this story and I fell in love with Ofelia and Nico. They were imperfectly perfect for each other and their story was a haunting fairytale which couldn't not get under your skin.
You just have to leave your prejudice at your door and you may enter this sinister world...

"I lived my life like a ballerina in a music box, only coming alive when its master wanted it to dance."

At this point, it's where I'm starting to say some things about the plot, but honestly, I don't want to tell you anything about this story!!!
It is better to dive in it blindly and you will be rewarded by the author.
Ofelia is a strong black swan who is very traumatized.
Nico is her savior and the one that he is making Ofelia's heart beat wildly...
Their status is very complicating and their connection is out of this world...

"To the world, I was like his daughter.
To me, he was my hero.
To him, I was an inconvenience."

I loved Ofelia and Nico very much...
They were amazing creatures with heavy past and terrifying scars...
Their chemistry wass electrifying, but was it enough to save them from the past???
Could they save each other or they were bound only for destruction???

"I wanted him to tear into me. To destroy me and then put me back together, piece by piece."

"The one thing she wanted from me was the one thing I could never give to her nor anyone."

Loved, loved, loved this story very much.
It was dark. It was raw. It was haunting.
It was sexy, emotional and full of shadows.
I totally recommend it on the dark and twisted romance lovers.
Ofelia and Nico will steal a part of your soul. Trust me!!!

"Dance, my little ballerina. Dance for me."

3.5 stars!

This book hooked me in the very beginning and then fell a little flat for me. I love taboo and forbidden nature of the story but i found to it be a little repetitive. At first i found ofelia’s delusions and bratty behavior to be fun because i was like “she IS me” but at certain points it got annoying and i was praying i dont come off that way.

It was a hot time and it kept me engaged for a good half way through the book!

idk if i will read more from this author but we shall seee

Welcome to the dance of the dead

Calling all dark romance lovers. If you read any dark romances in 2021, this is the one to read. It’s dark, delicious and full of twists and turns that you will never see coming.

If you love forbidden romances then Daddy Nico is for you. He is everything our broken swan Ofelia needed to spread her wings.

He took all of my broken pieces and gave them a home

Swan Song is my new favourite C.Lymari book. She has definitely found her calling as a dark romance author. Her words are so beautiful and leave you breathless wanting book after book.

Please beware this is a dark romance which means there are some triggers and things you may find uncomfortable.

This book is twisted, beautiful, and soul-crushing!!!
I loved the little Poems we got after each part, and the writing was beautiful!
The book gave me the feeling of being stuck between sense and madness 💜

"When my demons danced alongside me instead of being in my head, I could be temporarily free"

You have to go into it with an open mind, but I think for all dark romance readers, that is a given. :)
I will definitely read more by C. Lymari!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️+ STARS!!!

This is my favorite book by C. Lymari!!! We dive into the world of skin auctions and ballet. Interesting combo here. It was dark, twisted and freaking HOT! I honestly don’t know how to describe this book except by saying how much I enjoyed it. I couldn’t put it down and I didn’t want it to end. So many twists and behind the scenes it was mind boggling. Daddy Nico is officially my favorite! The build up between him and Ofelia was very sexy. Throw in a few heart twisting tears in there I wasn’t expecting! Ugh! I want to say so much but I can’t without giving everything away! You will definitely want to get your hands on this book!

"According to folklore, swans sing most beautifully before they die..."
-The Old Farmer's Almanac

I love all things C. Lymari but this book is my new favorite of hers and one of my favorites of 2021. This book is a dark romance with an age gap/daddy kink and a slight mindf**k.

Not many books can make me feel what the character feels but this book made me feel EVERYTHING Ofelia was feeling - good and bad!

Just reading the prologue had me feeling like this one was going to hurt and possibly gut me. And guess what! It did - it really really did! It started off with slight trepidation that soon had my stomach in knots.

Then as the story progressed, I started to feel like I was missing out on something which had me intrigued and curious. (I did get my answer but I'm not spoiling it.)

The angst between Nico and Ofelia was incredible and incredibly frustrating at the same time.

With any good DARK romance comes the pain and the level of pain felt in this story was so intense that just reflecting on it brings tears to my eyes. This book has some very dark, twisted moments and C. Lymari didn't shy away and fade to black.

If you love dark romance, I highly, highly recommend reading this one!

OH. EM. GEE! 🤯🤯🤯! Swan Song is Claudia Lymari’ s inaugural debut into all things dark, twisted, forbidden, heartbreaking, age gap with a side of an unconventional romance. I am stating now that I am here for everything between the pages. I read it a little while ago, and I need to read it again and again. I am addicted!! Her writing was so flawless it just flowed from one page to another. I am in love (with the writing and story, but definitely Daddy Nico!)

Our main characters are Ophelia and Nico, whom both have had unfortunate situations in their life. These upbringings have created two broken people with enough demons to make a paranormal investigator happy for the rest of their lives. Ofelia is this tough yet vulnerable, broken ballerina with a gift that most men savor. She sees Daddy Nico as her liberator and salvation. Is she wrong with thinking this of this deep, mysterious, completely possessive alpha?

“They didn’t know I was only soft on the outside, but my insides I was made of scales and claws. Something beautiful to be guarded but was already shredded to pieces.”

Nico. Nico is mine, but I am willing to share, possibly. 🤷🏻‍♀‍He is cold and ruthless, wants revenge above anything else on anyone who has wronged him. With this revenge what will happen with his burgeoning ‘life’ with Ofelia?

“I would never forget the way Nico touched me. How he felt inside of me. Even though he intended to kill me, I was okay with it because if I died by his hands, it meant that he would finally find the peace he was searching for.”

Ms. Lymari, definitely rose for the occasion. There was the ultimate challenge of writing a dark romance and make it amazing. Well, she not only completed it, but she excelled in it. Hands down, my favorite book of hers!

“To my little ballerina, can’t wait to have you again.”

This is another outstanding book from C. Lymari. The story is dark, sensual, forbidden, erotic, heartbreaking and oh so addicted!!!

Ofelia is the broken ballerina with a tragic pass, Nico in her eyes is her savior the one person she can count on. Besides gratitude Ofelia wants Nico's attention, she craves his touch even if is not sweet but hard and cruel.

"I wanted him to tear into me. To destroy me and then put me back together, piece by piece"

Nico has demons on his own. Pass experiences had made him cold and ruthless. His prime possession is Ofelia the one thing he desires and he knows it's a forbidden fruit to have. He wants revenge at all cost even if in the process he finish breaking the one thing that keeps him afloat.

This dark, forbidden, age gap romance was so good. There are some very shocking moments and things I didn't see coming at all. The story keep me all night reading this book but was so worth it. It's not your typical romance novel, there is lots of heartache, desperation and longing but the story can break your heart and put it back together at the end.

I thought this book was really well written, I finished it in one sitting and it had me wanting more. I absolutely loved the characters and the writing style. Daddy Nico is just something else and I am here for him.

I was able to guess the twists, but it was still a fun read.

I loved the complexity of Ofelia's character. She really had me in the palm of her hands wanting to learn more about her. I loved how broody Nico was. Just something about a broody man who would do anything for the woman in his life just tugs at my heart.

If you love dark, age gap, forbidden and twisted romance...this is the book for you.

O.M.G WOW what was this book I'm Still in grieving mode after finished the book and I have a huge hangover 🥺 This is not fair Claudia how can a book be so so perfect 😭.
This book has everything in it gosh how many time my heart ached. when I read the prologue I must say I was a little confused I have to re-read it but once I got the Story oh I was hooked...I couldn't put it down I don't want to, I was up pretty late lol friend told me to sleep becoz I have classes in the morning and I put it down for few hours but then it was like the story was calling me.

Nico oh god Nico and Ofelia oh how much I loved every shade of her she just has so many layers to her personality and I loved every single part of her and Nico was just Everything pure book boyfriend material HE IS MINE...
Every single scene they were so perfect I want to highlight my whole ebook lol and it made me cry so many times and there were points when I knew nobody will cry but my heart was out for Ofelia gosh I loved her sassy attitude her come back her feistiness and her heart 🤧

Swan Song is my very first of C.Lymari’s books, and it will not be last. I can’t wait to read what else she has written!! I loved this story so much! It was dark, steamy as hell, and mysterious. I loved the mystery elements of this story so much. I love how I can never predict what is going to happen or what the true story really is. Her writing and the plot are what kept me engaged. She does not hold back with her characters. Their intensity is passionate, controlling, angsty and fully dedicated to who they are. Ofelia and Nico (main characters) are haunting, dangerous, sexy and intense.

C. Lymari had been on my to-read list for a while, and when I saw the opportunity for this one pop up, I had to grab it and read on!

You will not be disappointed in the least with this one. Amazing read! Dark but amazing overall

I went into this book knowing it would be dark but not realising how dark. The darker the better in my opinion, and this author smashed it! This is my favourite book of hers yet, and I didn't think Falcons Prey could be topped.

Nico is a compelling character. His powerful stature, his take-no-crap attitude and his protective nature had me theoretically falling to my knees. A hero with his own dark past is exactly what I needed.

The sweetheart swan is an enigma. A strong, traumatised bird with clipped wings for her own protection. I absolutely loved her character, Claudia always exceeds when it comes to female heroines. They are always so fierce even though they are fragile and broken.

For me, this book couldn't have been better. It is definitely my favourite so far, especially when my man made his cameo appearance *swoon* I'm in love with Swan Song.

Honestly, I don’t know how to rate this book. I was intrigued by the storyline, but at the end, there wasn’t much development.

The relationship dynamic was rlly weird as well as the characters themselves 😐

Especially, the mental health issues of both the characters could have been explored more.

Swan Song by C Lymari
Sold to her malevolent master, Ofelia learns to please him by dancing and being the best ballerina. After all, this is her saving grace or is it?
But with each twirl, it brings her closer to death. On the night it all goes up in flames, she is saved by her saviour or is he another sinister master? Nico is paying for his past sins but there is something about the ballerina he now calls his little swan.
With his show, she takes centre stage but what she really wants, is all of Nico’s attention and that seems to be something that is off-limits. Ofelia dances to be the best and to keep her past hidden, until her demons start to show up. With each villain, she needs to question how they know the man that she has always wanted, the man she thought was her saviour. Has she been fooling herself all this time? Will her last pirouette, also be her final curtain call? Overall I have enjoyed this book. There were a few things that I was not a fan of, but those are more personal. There are triggers in this book, so take heed of the warning. The darkness and the suspense all worked well. I did not feel the connection between our main characters. For me, it felt a bit forced and dare I say, odd. I also would have preferred more of Ofelia past, especially her fear, and what she witnessed. The one incident where she is accosted, I thought would have had more of an effect on her, but the story just moved on from this. However, the writing was good, and the story kept me intrigued.

When I read the blurb for Swan Song I was so excited to see a dark gaurdian/ward romance book and this book lived up to both those themes. Ofelia is a broken dancer with eyes for her mysterious guardian Nico. Nico is her rich savior who took Ofelia in as a young teen. He's mysterious and has his own secret agendas to work through. Together they must face a dark and seedy world full of danger and secrets. This book had several twists and turns I didn't see coming down to the final page. Paired with plenty of steamy scenes and gritty plot, Swan Song feels like memorable winner. Nico is protective while looking for personal redemption and revenge. Ofelia is an incredibly strong woman with some sass, which I found to be commendable instead of a turn off given all the circumstances surrounding her past. I enjoyed getting to know them through their dual point of views and seeing their growth. If you love dark romances mixed with an age gap and mystery this book will fit perfectly on your shelf.

Omg!!!
This book was everything I was expecting and everything I wasn't, in fact all expectations were blown out of the water, and this was easily added to my top read of 21 list.
I'm sitting here speechless. Every time I try to explain my feelings, I either delete the sentence or the screen goes black before I can come up with something.
Books like these are my absolute favorites, I adore my mind being messed with, but then after I'm a complete broken mess in the very best way.
This book was dark, raw and gritty with no holds barred, wringing every emotion out of you over and over.
The characters and plot will keep you captivated from cover to cover, and every time you think you know whats going on, prepare to have your mind and heart broken.
I also love how the author threw a few surprises in there.
Hope we see these characters again someday as they certainly deserve a standing ovation.
Highly recommend for all lovers of dark and twisted.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

Welcome to the Dance Of The Dead.
Come on little swan, get up and dance. For you have feet, for you shall bleed, for no good deed shall be left unseen. It's time to atone for all your sins. Dance. Twirl. Spin. Your master should be waiting patiently. Dance with your demons, spins with your doubts, and twirl till you drop, for this is the beginning of the rest of your life. This is your swan song.

This is the first C. Lymari book that I have read. I can tell you that it probably will not be my last too. This is a dark and twisted romance and it is the story of Nico and Ofelia. Ofelia is being held captive by the most horrible man in the most horrible place. She is forced to dance with her feet bleeding and no telling what horrible things are happening or how many girls are in this place. But one night she sees the most handsome man with the darkest eyes she has ever seen and he ends up rescuing her. Now she is the star of his ballet company and the lead in The Dance Of The Dead. She was young when she was rescued and Nico has lead everyone to believe that Ophelia is his daughter. But there is so much more to the story than this and you are going to have to figure it out just like I did. If you get confused and find yourself at about thirty percent saying what the actual heck is going on, please do not lay it down and not finish it because it is so worth it to finish this book. It is broken down into three parts. When you get halfway through the book it will all start to make sense to you little by little. There is a reason Ophelia is with Nico and there is a reason as to why he does everything he does. It is all one huge mystery until it starts to unravel before your very eyes and I was actually scared to read the ending of this book as I figured it was all going to end in some crazy ending that was going to make me throw my kindle. It was so worth the reading and the confusion. In the end this book was brilliant and so different from anything I have ever read. I loved it. I loved the characters, I loved the confusion and most of all I just loved it period. If you are a dark romance reader then you will love this book. I will too warn you that if you have triggers this book might hold some for you so proceed with caution.

I went into this one blind, only knowing it was going to be an age gap romance. But, I wasn’t prepared for how twisted and dark and hot Swan Song was!

Ophelia and Nico’s relationship was unusual, unconventional, and downright sexy. I found myself sitting at the edge of my seat just waiting for Nico to snap and give in to the temptation that is Ophelia – despite him being 17 years older, despite him being her guardian. Because their sexual chemistry was everything.

If C. Lymari writes dark romance for the rest of her author career, I wouldn’t mind.

Swan Song is the first book I’ve read by C. Lymari and it sure won’t be the last.

Written with such feeling and emotion, I never questioned how Ofelia felt through this dark romance.

Ofelia, the beautiful little swan, broken and bruised.

Nico, the master, will he heal her or hurt her more?

The story has some twisted parts so those with triggers be warned.

Recommend to all the dark romance readers that love angst, age-gap and kink.
