Excellent book for those new to recovery

Excellent book for those new to recovery. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would definitely recommend reading it. Being new to recovery, reading books about alcoholism has helped me as has taking it one day at a time.

Haven't finished it, but decided to mark it as read. The tired old stories of people who AA has worked for. Was hoping when I bought it that wasn't the case. Mostly it's AA success stories, 'My life wasn't great - I was sober and unhappy - but then I fully gave myself to the program and I'm now happy, joyous and free'. Yeah, yeah same old stuff.

Ah ha, so *that's* what's wrong with me...very useful insight into some pretty common stumbling blocks for people in 12 step recovery programs. I wish that a few of the areas had been expanded a little, but very helpful overall.
