February 11, 2026Elizabeth the Tattle Tale
One of the things both twins seem to agree on is there hatred of fractions. Jessica tells Mrs. Otis they’re going to slay the test and be the champs of fractions. Until, she and Liz look at the review sheet. It might not be so easy! Still, they both finish their sheets and make 100’s.
Mrs. Otis tells them they can read and Liz chooses a book called “Bunnies at the Beach” by her favorite author Angela Daly. She’s in the middle of chapter 2 when Mrs. Otis asks her to help Todd because Ken (whose also good at fractions) is absent. Todd says he hates fractions, but Liz encourages him to start with the easy problems first and they get them all done. Todd teases that maybe she can help him tomorrow (during the test) and Liz says he knows she can’t do that. He says he wishes someone could tho.
Lila tells Jessica and Ellen to meet her by the big wall-where none of the other kids like to go because it’s creepy-. She tells them that the jokes came. Two months ago, they looked at a joke catalog and ordered two jokes. Ellen asks if they can go over Lila’s, but she says she’s already opened it-which makes Ellen mad because they all paid for the jokes. Caroline overhears and asks what they’re talking about but they tell her it’s a secret and since she can’t keep one they aren’t telling.
Caroline won’t move tho and says it’s a free playground so they move. They decide to play the first joke on Andy. Caroline tho has moved to their spot and overheard that they’re going to do something to Andy. So, they decide to tell her but they make her promise she won’t tell .. which (smh). They should have just made up something.
Elizabeth talks to Todd before the test and asks him if he’s ready for it. He says he found a way to study for it but he won’t say anymore and says it’s a secret. He then goes to talk to Ken and wishes Liz luck. Liz sees Ken passing Todd the answers during the test. She tells Jessica she has a secret to tell her and makes her do the special secret promise sign. She tells her she saw Todd cheating. Jessica asks if she’ll tell the teacher. She says she’s not trying to be a tattle tale. Jessica asks what she’ll do and she says she’ll talk to Todd. Caroline is by them tying her shoe.
They take the test. Jessica makes an A. Elizabeth misses one and makes a B. She asks Jessica what Ken made and she says a B. Todd also made a B. Liz finds out from Jessica that Ken and Todd missed the same problems which proved Todd cheated. Lila tells Jessica it’s time and she drops something near Andy’s desk. Winston notices and tells Mrs. Otis its going to smell very soon. It’s fake vomit. Andy says he didn’t do it. Caroline IMMEDIATELY sells out Jessica, Ellen, and Lila to Mrs. Otis but Andy tells her to chill. It was funny. Mrs. Otis smiles.
Liz confronts Todd at lunch. He says he got a B. She tells him he should have got an A. Todd denies it then admits it. He’s definitely not sorry and says he should have done it before. Todd says she’s going to cheat on a spelling test and shows Liz a sheet where the words are written tiny. Liz asks why since he’s good at spelling. He shrugs and says cheating is just easy. Liz says Ken should know better and so should be. He tells her Ken isn’t a goody two shoes like her. She gets mad and stomps off. They take the test. Todd gets a 100 (and brags to Liz). She gets an 85. She’s not impressed!
Mrs. Otis announces Monday they’ll have a spelling bee. The winner will get 3 tickets to a professional soccer game. Liz, Todd, and Eva are excited (they’re on the soccer team). Jessica isn’t. Ellen mentions going to the beach. Jessica wants to go but Liz says she’s going to study all weekend. Ellen says she beats Jessica will win because she won the spelling bee. Jessica says this time she’s not even going to study because she doesn’t care about winning the tickets. Liz says she can give them to her.
Todd wins the spelling bee. Jessica tells her she should tell. He can’t keep doing this. Liz tries but chickens out, She passes him a note that says he’d better stop before he’s caught. He reads the note and rips it up.
Caroline finds a green frog in her cubby and tells Mrs. Otis but she tells her to calm down. It’s just fake. Carolien gets mad and says Lila, Ellen, and Jessica did it to get back at her. Interestingl tho, Mrs. Otis doesn’t say anything to them. Mrs. Otis catches Todd copying Ken’s answers and she lets him know that she knows he’s cheated. He and Ken confess. She tells him she’s going to give him the test again but give him time to study for it.
My Thoughts:
Even for second grade practical jokes these were BAD! Caroline, COME ON you can not be that scared of a RUBBER and more than likely CHEAP LOOKING frog in your cubbard. And you KNOW it’s not real because you know what Lila, Ellen, and Jessica were up too. So, why are you crying?
And then I know this is going to sound gross but take it from someone who KNOWS from experience. How can I say this? Being sick is NOT QUIET. If Andy would have gotten sick, Winston wouldn’t have *just* noticed it on the floor. They all would have looked up as it was happening.
As for cheating. Teachers ALWAYS know! But then it wouldn’t take an idiot to notice someone that keeps looking down. I had a good and bad cheating experience. Both in high school. In the bad one, just like Todd I got caught. In the good one it was a class thing. The teacher stepped out the room and notebooks and science books started opening all over the room. People were *sharing* answers. It was bad true but, in a way, if your gonna cheat and not get caught I can’t think of a better way. When our teacher (Mr. Gainy) walked back in the room all the notebooks, and books, and notes were put away and no one was the wiser. But for the most part, no there’s no fool-proof way to accomplish this is class. And then why does this teacher have students helping other students? Isn’t that your job? YOUR their teacher! If you do your job maybe (or maybe not) just a thought the might not be tempted to cheat off each other. I say maybe not tho cause these are just kids.

Loved it. Highly recommend this one for kids. It basically showed how bad it is to cheat and tattletale.

The twins are acing fractions, but Todd isn’t doing so well. They have a big test coming up though, and he’s super confident so he must be studying hard, right? Lila, Ellen and Jess get some ‘jokes’ in the mail, and they can’t wait to use them. They decide to trick Andy first, but Caroline overhears and threatens to tell, so they include her. Meanwhile, during the fraction test Liz sees Ken passing Todd notes. She confronts Todd who admits he’s cheating but says it’s easier than studying and doesn’t see the problem 🤷🏼♀️ Liz tells Jess, and they’re both annoyed. The future unicorns pull their joke on Andy - leaving fake vomit next to his chair, which Caroline ruins by - you guessed it - tattling. Everyone (including Andy and Mrs O) thinks it’s hilarious though! Even though Todd is a good speller, he tells Liz he’s gonna cheat on a spelling test too. She still doesn’t tattle. Then, they have a spelling bee where the prize is tickets to a Soccer game - and Todd cheats and beats Jess! (The second grade champion) Another joke is pulled, this time on Caroline who does NOT respond well, and Mrs Otis tells her to be quiet 😂 Finally, Mrs O catches Todd cheating and calls out him and Ken. Todd yells at Liz, she blames Jess, who blames Caroline and no one is talking to anyone else ever again. Until Mrs Otis tells them all she figured it out herself, duhhh. Todd owns up, Jess gets the tickets and gives them to Jess and everyone still hates Caroline.
My rating - 4/10 - Umm Liz didn’t rattle once. Very misleading. Todd was horrible, Caroline was horrible. But I liked seeing Jess do well at school 🤷🏼♀️.
