From the RHS comes this compendium of poetry about gardens and garden plants, themes that have provided inspiration for poets since the dawn of time. The poems span many centuries and include the work of such great writers as Wordsworth, Spenser and Shakespeare.

I picked this one up in a charity shop, ad I'm very glad I did. I've kept it on the bedside table, and really enjoyed reading some at bedtime. They are also accompanied by some really lovely illustrations. I will keep a eye out for others.
A lovely book. A complete joy. I assume that many other readers do as I invariably do and that is when finishing a poetry book I go back and re-read individual entries several more times. With this book, I also went back - to the start - and enjoyed the illustrations over again, as well as the verse. A book to savour, a book to enjoy reading and, where possible, a book to own as a beautiful object.
Picked up an immaculate copy in the Amnesty International bookstore and life is all the more richer for doing so. I often read and ponder the verses with a cup of coffee and carry around during train commutes. I love Poetry and gardens so figures it would be right up my street. Beautifully illustrated and will have longevity on my bookshelves for years to come. A beautiful book
