Anyone tracing their family tree searching for their Scottish ancestors should have a copy of this book! Packed full of useful information, "Scottish Roots" gets you started tracing your ancestors in Scotland and is the only guid you'll need to help you in your search.
Although pretty out of date (pre-Internet 1985), most of the advice is timeless, such as gathering home resources first, talk to relatives, etc. and a good outline of what kinds of records were kept when.
Witty and still a bit out of date but some good examples and a logical entry guide to Scottish family history. The local museums are listed but I am not sure how many of them are still open post COVID.
Even though this book was written before pre-digital records, I still picked up some useful tips that hopefully will help me track down more of my Scottish ancestors.
