I bought this book today for my daughter, who is 4. We are a homeschooling family. We had taken a break from doing preschool work with her for a few months and are gearing up to get started again, but in those few months many of her skills have really blossomed above the level of the previous materials we had purchased. I was happy to find this book for a few reasons:
1. The pictures are very pleasant to look at and colorful. It is very welcoming to look at.
2. The skills covered are different from those in most preschool workbooks and are things I feel are more beneficial and age appropriate. For example, instead of focusing mostly on letter and number writing and such as many books do, this one has activities such as figuring out which activity people would do in which season, making simple graphs, etc. The skills are more about critical thinking than about rote learning.
3. The stickers. My daughter has good fine motor skills and can write most of her uppercase letters quite legibly, etc. but she gets tired and sometimes frustrated with having to write in answers. The stickers are appealing because they make the lessons quicker, more fun for her and more focused on the content being taught that the motor skills.
