Somme of the explanations were a little confusing, some of the projects were plain ugly but there was enough good about this book for me to like it. Some great designs, and some inspiring ideas.

i made a variation of the sea breeze necklace and i really like it. my main issue with the designs, and this would be the case with any similar crocheted jewelery, is that when i see something like "chain 241" i get bored before i've even picked out yarn.

even though the designs are fairly simple and straightforward, i would not recommend it for complete beginners. working with skinny yarns and hooks can be a lot harder than doing the same patterns with bigger needles! also, stringing all of the beads on ahead of time means that there isn't much room for error. this was the first time i used beads with crochet, and i think the sea breeze pattern was good for that. nobody will notice if there are a few extra or a few missing chains between the beads in that pattern. :)

Most of the designs are interesting. Interesting in a way that they may be satisfying to make, but I would never wear them. The directions do no seem clear (I read some, but was not activly trying to follow along). While there are illustrations in the "how to crochet" section, there are not for the beading section. And if you need the directions for the how to crochet section, I can't imagine that you would be very successful with this book.

This is a fun book for ideas, but not as helpful if you're new to crochet. The instructions are all there, but every now and then it seems to leave out a step. Otherwise, the patterns are a very good starting place,and the photography is very nice.

Overly complicated and surprisingly dated designs (especially since it was published in 2009!). Out of the 40+ patterns, I only saw maybe 2 I would be willing to make, but the instructions aren't particularily clear, especially on the beading part.

Excellent book for crocheting jewelry, has patterns and great pictures for necklaces, bracelets and earrings. Some are not to my taste but techniques and colors can be altered to fit beads and pendants you already have.
