Taken by the Warrior Knight

Rate this book
I have a made a huge mistake.

I am in a gargantuan ship filled with alien warriors hurtling into space at the speed of light. And, oh yeah, The only reason I joined this mission is treating me like shit.
Thinking back now, I know I should not have ever boarded this ship, but when I see him, I can’t help myself. His power, his intensity, it’s just too much to take.
It isn’t until I am awoken from cryogenic stasis that I find out that this brooding alien knight had his reasons for giving me the cold shoulder.
My mind hates him, but my body can’t refuse when he touches me. He has decided I am his fated mate, he wants to possess me body and soul.
There is no escape.

Mated to the Warrior King is the second book in the new Rulers of the Gok'han empire. Each installment contains sassy, strong-willed heroines and brooding, possessive aliens bound together by exhilarating action and steamy romance. Each book is standalone, but they are best enjoyed when read in order.
No cliffhangers. No cheating. Happy ending guaranteed.

Jada and O'kko . . .

Jada is sent on a mission to Earth as they needed volunteers to become brides for the Gok'han. She wants O'kko but doesn’t know how he feels about her. He tells her that she is his Kultana, yet she doesn’t feel cherished by him. In fact, he acts sort of cold toward her.

When they see a ship that seems to be from Earth, even though Earth is not that advanced to get a ship to the end of the galaxy, they board it to take a look around. They find a woman who appears dead, but they found a faint pulse. She seems almost frozen though. O’kko told Jada about time dilation where 9 months would have been at least 40 to 50 years on her home planet, so the technology differences on the ship, where Jada didn’t recognize anything, could be because of advances over all that time. Will they finally figure out what is wrong with the woman who still appears icy cold and frozen? She seems to have something in her hand and, as Jada pokes her fist to investigate, alarms blare loudly. What is happening?

First objection is the amount of unnecessary cursing Jada does. It’s not that I find it offensive, but it sounds so juvenile and forced, not fitting in at all in dialog with an alien. Every one of her curses could be removed without hurting the story line. I found the story very slow-moving and not making lots of sense. This particular book is not my favorite so far.

Taken by the Warrior Knight is a very well-written book 3 in the Rulers of The Gokhan Empire Book Series with amazing characters. This story has strong characters who are well crafted who have unique chemistry, personalities and histories. This story was intriguing and has well-thought out scenes, characters and storyline. This wonderful story has the following: intrigue, twists, turns, adventure, action, romance, and love. A must read. Each installment contains sassy, strong-willed heroines and brooding, possessive aliens bound together by exhilarating action and steamy romance. Each book is standalone, but they are best enjoyed when read in order. This is an Alien Breeder Romance

Jada has been included in a mission to return to Earth to ask if any women wish to travel to the far reaches of the universe to become brides for the Gok'han. She has a crush on O'kko but ever since he has been made a knight he is certainly less than pleasant. He tells her that she is his Kultana but does a rather thorough impression of being a complete butt nugget, selfish, arrogant and taking what he wants. Jada feels totally used which she has every right I think. They make it to Earth with a visitor (how in deep space did that happen?) Earth is not as it once was. All these insurmountable odds, can they save the day and themselves?

A great story with plenty of adventure. I felt for Sandra and her loss, even her hand as you will read. I did enjoy Jada and O'kko's story and much is revealed as time passes and they head off on their mission. They are headed to earth, but not as Sandra and Jada knew it to be. There are plenty of issues to deal with before these two get a HEA to look forward to. Plus a new edition. Sandra and Sampo make a lovely couple and he will be there for as she re-adjusts to living on a very different earth.

This is a story in a series. You won't need to read the series to enjoy this book. This was the first book in the series I read but the back story is easily explained and to understand. The story is well written with lots of turns and twists. It contains a mystery of it's own and is very intelligently written. It is well worth your time to read and I will be looking to read the ones I have missed by this author so far.

O'kko tells Jade that she is his mate, but seems cold at times due to the fact that he is not supposed to interact with her on this mission. Plenty of action, steam and adventure as they find a Earth shuttle and someone inside. The characters are well defined with great backstories. The storyline keeps you on the edge with twists and surprises. Great steam when they are alone together and do not worry about protocol. Can not wait for the next story.

I love how the love story has some complications, but is actually cleared up with maturity that some books don't have. Jade is a feisty one and sets it all straight rather quickly for O'kko. From one situation they find themselves in to another, you are kept on your feet. The story flowed well and I can't wait for the next book.

A short read with steamy love scenes, but the story felt a bit fractured to me. There is a minor subplot about another human woman they find. That part felt shoehorned in to the story. I didn't feel like we got a good resolution to what happened with her and her crew.

What a shame

What a shame, this book had the potential to be really good, but unfortunately it was not. Very childish dialogue and words used by the aliens were totally out of place. Once again the main female character was unlikable. It felt like the author didn't like women and wrote unlikable characters while calling them "strong" women. They were not. Too bad.
