Former Navy SEAL, Bill Evanston, AKA Pudge, enjoys a secret passion. Every Christmas, he bakes sugar cookies for the wounded military recovering at the Veteran’s Hospital. But a request for a home visit to a troubled Marine, Gunnar Greyson, ignites a different passion when he meets Gunnar’s sister, Stella. As their relationship deepens, so does Gunnar’s depression after his bid to adopt his beloved K-9, Pyro, is denied and the dog is sold. Stella Greyson is a Hollywood stunt woman and an alpha female. With her focus on career and helping her brother, she doesn’t have time for romance. That is until Pudge disarms her with his masculine charm and his all-in commitment to save her brother. He’s the man she’s always dreamed of but thought only existed in the movies. With Gunnar’s life hanging in the balance and his relationship with Stella in shambles, Pudge needs a Christmas miracle to pull off his most important mission: find Pyro and win back the love of his life.

A wonderful "Christmas in July" read. I laughed and cried. Great characters, realistic. Great ending for everyone. I am hooked on Connie Y Harris's books. I hope she writes many more. Thank you for the entertainment! I eagerly await her next book.
LOVE IT! Short, sweet, SUPER SEXY .... Connie takes us on an emotional roller coaster ride of commitment to family, sadness, concern, intense sexual arrousal... LOL from zero to 60 (make that 160!) and back in 10 short chapters! It's a gift... the masterful blending of hard core and soft heart. A great read! Thanks Connie, I've loved all of your books (I've read them each more than once :) but after all that's gone on over the past year and 1/2 ... I seriously needed this one :) Can't wait for your next release!
I loved the story between Pudge and Stella, but, honestly, Pyro had me hooked. The idea of a veteran pup reuniting with his handler gets me every time. I love seeing those stories in real life as well as the fictional world. They guarantee an HEA and are responsible for more than one tear being shed. I look forward to reading more from this series.
Not a bad short story, but the abrupt transitions and "insta-love " made me not adore it. I liked the concept of a vet trying to help veterans. Decent quick read.
