The book is divided into chapters detailing how plastics are involved in each part of our lives - work, vacation, events etc.

While some advice- use beeswax wraps in place of cling film- is ok, most were unrealistic for typo person- make makeup from coconut oil and cocoa powder. Some suggestions had no place in an eco book at all. Childbirth is a dangerous and emotional time, plastic cribs in the hospital should not even be in the top 100 things to consider when deciding on a birth plan. Even with the disclaimer it is insulting and downright dangerous to suggest women give birth away from a hospital to avoid waste.

This book helped me be aware of plastic around me and gives suggestions as to how you can cut plastic out. It was published in 2018 and there have definitely been improvements since then - such as being able to recycle soft plastics now. But I felt like this lacked in detail and it was more just a list of suggestions than convincing me to change my ways.

I wanted to get so much more from this. It’s OK. Maybe better for someone starting from scratch. Not for those already reducing their plastic usage.
I support the MCS and I did enjoy the writing, but in all honesty, it could just be a blog post.
