she's my light—my guide as I walk through the darkest parts of myself, always leading me back home. back to her.

the first third of the book was pretty hard to get into. i was actually pretty close to dnf this book.
i really wanted to love this story and i for a fact probably would have. if you stick with it it will eventually get better as you get further along but it just wasn't my thing.

“you, gray. i think i'm addicted to you.”

at some point gracie and tyler were pretty cute but i felt like the only real connection was when they had sex, i‘m sorry.

let’s say it wasn't a bad book, it just wasn't as compelling to me as i expected.
i couldn't get attached to the main characters and at times i was on the verge of secondhand embarrassment.

I enjoyed this one so much more than the first book.

It’s a quick read but I throughly enjoyed Tyler and Gracie. I just loved how much we got to see Tyler open up and truly let her be the light in his life.

Not a complaint, but though it is a hockey romance, there was only a little bit of hockey in the book. I was surprised in a good way because I was so focused on everything else.

The timeline of this book was SO CONFUSING. Literally nothing made sense and the author kept contradicting herself and there were so many inconsistencies that just made this book awful.

It's clear throughout the whole book that the author did the bare minimum of research, highlighted by the fact that Gracie's best friend drives a "Chevy Corolla". The constant continuity errors made it clear that she just didn't care, for one: HOW OLD ARE THEY. we never get a real answer that's for sure, in book 1 Gracie is 16, book 1.5 (Between periods is idk when but she's 18), book 2 is a year later so she's 19, it's mentioned multiple times that Tyler is too old for her but never mentions his age, eventually someone mentions he's 3 years older than her which would make him 22. In book 1 Oakley mentions that he felt bad that Tyler missed the draft window, but since Oakley was still eligible for his final draft he's obviously younger than Tyler. In book 2 Gracie mentions she was 7 years old when her dad dies and Oakley was 13, that's a 6 year age difference so when she's 16 he should be 22, therefore not eligible for the draft and Tyler would be older than 22. Again in book 2 it's mentionned that Gracie introduced her bff 2 years prior, Jessica who's 20, when Gracie was 17 at the time, but mentions that Tyler was 22 at the time which would make him 24 now, which if my math is right isnt 3 years older than Gracie. One last time here, in book 2, Gracie is talking about how Oakley is a 23 year old Millionaire, but again he was 13 when she was 7, but now he's 23 when she's 19??? I'm just so confused.

Besides the fact that she was crushing on Tyler from the moment she met him at 16 and he finally gives in when she turns 18 is gross. In the epilogue of book 1, which is 2 years later and 1 year after their trip to Mexico, which is where we find out that Gracie and Tyler hooked up for the first time, Oakley notices that Tyler is filling up Gracies plate as if this was a natural habit of his that he wasn't aware he was doing, but when we start book 2 we jump to it being 1 year after Mexico and it's mentioned Gracie and Tyler haven't talked or interacted much over that time.. so how did he get this habit?

I'm just beyond confused after reading this.

I'm at 80% and I can't even wait to finish this book before venting. The first book in this series was so sweet and kept me hooked. I was excited for this one but it falls short in so many ways. Not only was their relationship lacking emotional depth, but aside from Tyler's past trauma you get nothing about their current lives. Tyler plays professional hockey, but there is almost zero view into his career. Gracie is a dance instructor but aside from mentioning her job is draining TWICE we've never once seen her go to a studio or speak on it at all. The other thing is there's very little story consistency. In the beginning of the book Oakley trades back to Tyler's team in Vancouver, but then at the 80% mark Gracie's mentioning how after her mothers passing they haven't been able to return home to Seattle? Honestly just a really disjointed and sloppy story. I'll still read the last because I did like the first, but I wish this story had focused on different side characters because these ones were lacking HARD.

Oh man, I’m crying. (happy tears obvs)
This book was EVERYTHING 😭
I’m so ridiculously in love with Tyler, he comes across as angry and closed off but he has such a huge heart and will do absolutely anything for the ones he loves and cares about. His home life is flipping tough and it made me want to hold him and tell him that everything will be okay. I love him so much!!! 🥹
Gracie is everything that Tyler needed, she fought for him and fought for their relationship. She didn’t back down and she broke down all of his walls no matter how many times he tried to push her away or deny his feelings for her. She is an incredibly strong woman, her and her brother Oakley have experienced so much loss and heartbreak; it was so beautiful watching them find love.
I can’t get over how incredible this story was! If you’re a lover of hockey romance that will have you swooning, laughing and crying then I defo recommend this!!
Also the spicy scenes had me all kinds of flustered!! Like holy crap Tyler has a filthiest dirty talk 🥵

This book really confused me. The first thing is where did Morgan and Matt go? They were best friends with Ava and Oakley in the first book. Yes this book is about Tyler and Gracie but Ava and Oakley are still major components and Matt and Morgan were mentioned once? That didn't make sense to me. The second thing is Tyler implying that Gracie and Oakley's mom took care of him as a child. In the first book Oakley meets Tyler, Adam, Matt, and Braden for the first time on his new hockey team. That doesn't add up. It was an okay book but the plot holes were too much for me.

This wasn’t my cup of tea.

So in the very beginning, we hear that Gracie was sleeping with one of her brother’s teammates - Tyler calls her a puck bunny, you realize they’ve already slept together - and he is not jealous *at all* to hear this. It was glazed over so fast I didn’t even know if I read it correctly until later.

So that didn’t start me off feeling great about either MC. Tyler is an asshole for a long, long time. I didn’t feel like he cared that much about her, and I needed more depth between them.

Gracie was ok, but I felt like she always forgave Tyler’s asshole ways sooo fast. Including the biggest conflict between them … that he slept with her best friend Jessica.

This soured me on Tyler too much. It’s briefly mentioned in the beginning, and even in his POV he doesn’t feel guilt? Like he says it’s a huge mistake but doesn’t seem concerned to tell Gracie or worried that she’d be upset. Later it becomes an issue when Jessica pushes him to tell her. If she didn’t do that, Tyler would’ve never said anything.

So ok, Gracie finds out and is appropriately upset. I was clapping at her speech when she said she knows they weren’t together then, but it was her friend and everyone knew Gracie had a crush on Tyler, so he didn’t respect her. But the next scene is him going to Gracie’s house, getting super jealous that her male neighbor is there (literally doing nothing) and them having sex instantly. He also says “this is your cock, not Jessica’s” during sex *cue instant vomit* And Gracie justifies the Jessica thing with - oh, he didn’t even care about me enough at that point to hurt me purposely, so it’s ok. Plus I’m not a saint, I slept with that other guy. Ma’am?! I need some grovel or deep conversation or something.

There is a lot of other family drama and trauma, but ultimately I just wasn’t feeling the connection. Tyler’s dad reveal would’ve been more satisfying if he’d been wondering about who his dad was the whole time - otherwise it felt random.

The ending was the cutest part, when Tyler finally opened up, but it wasn’t enough to save it for me.

I know it’s hard to write a book, so hopefully it would be someone else’s jam!

Ughh you guys. Tbh I was wondering to myself did any man can top Oakley…and here we are. I love this man so much!! ughh I cry. there is just something so beautiful about the way that Hannah writes it had me in tears the whole book. I know some parts weren’t sad, but the love that theses characters go through just pushes me to the edge. The book progressed perfectly, and left us with a big WTF!! bahaha “surprise?” hell yes. cant wait for what comes next.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 (4.25 stars)

This book was such an emotional ride. I absolutely adored Tyler and Gracie’s story, though I did find myself wishing for just a little more depth in certain areas, hence my 4.25 rating.

Tyler broke my heart. He’s a man who’s had a brutal life, weighed down by his past and convinced he doesn’t deserve happiness. His walls are sky-high, but that’s exactly what made his journey so compelling. Gracie, sweet and determined, sees through all of that pain and refuses to give up on him. I loved that she was the one pushing, always trying to reach the real Tyler beneath the armor.

Their relationship is messy, raw, and complicated, and my heart ached for both of them along the way. But that hard-won HEA? So worth it 🥹.

What kept this from being a full 5-star read for me was that I craved a bit more detail and depth in the storytelling. For instance, Gracie’s dance lessons were mentioned but never really expanded on, I would’ve loved to see that woven more deeply into her character and their story.

All in all, this was a beautiful, emotional romance with characters that stay with you long after the last page.

i rarely do reviews but,

oh my god…

a rollercoaster this was. the way both gracie and tyler intrigued me with their development into love together. my poor baby tyler, with the amount of suffering and pain he’s been through to having overcome the sense of loneliness and pain after having the right friends and help around him, honestly made my heart burst !!!!

gracie..oh my god, gracie is one bad ass woman !!!
my honest spirit animal- just heartwarming how her love for tyler saved him from his past and himself.

i got the honours of being able to read “blissful hook” before it came out in september. i never read the wattpad version, so i went into it not having a CLUEEEEEEE about anything.

little did i know, i wasn’t expecting any of it.

oh the tears,
the laughs,
the sadness my heart felt
to
the happiness my heart felt.

it was an honest rollercoaster- and i’m definitely adding it to my rereading list !!!

my..my…this book has my expectations higher then they already are.

tyler. oh freaking tyler. a man that’s stole my heart, “you, gray. i think i’m addicted to you..” oh.
his softness towards gracie, threw me off the edge, i’ll never not love their relationship.

this book is definitely my favourite book to the series by far!! i cannot wait for you guys to read it, with the turns of events to the specific special moments the two share.

my heart is still full❤️

i already miss both of them :(

#TracieForEver <3

i cannot and i mean CANNOT wait for the other books to come out so i can definitely catch up and see my babies again in their books✨

don’t let the fact that i read this in one day fool you. i don’t know, these two really had me excited in both book 1 and the novella, but i don’t think reading their story had me all that excited.

i get that these books are somewhat standalone, but to copy/paste two whole chapters from the novella was crazy. definitely skipped over those because they added no new info.

the love confession was cute, i’ll give them that. but the story felt a little all over the place and lacking in many different ways. and then that weird drama at the end threw me so offguard i cackled when i read it. i thought the book was gonna end like 3 different times; veryyy expanded for really nothing to be added to the plot.

the cliffhanger made me laugh too. it felt very tv show-esque, in that i obviously have to read adam’s story right this second. not that i wasn’t going to before, but like, that cliffhanger was so on the nose i don’t know.

definitely cute, but not as emotional as oakley’s and ava’s story. i really did feel for tyler at some points, though his jealousy scares me and that one scene with cody really turned me off.

literally don’t know what to rate this book! so many things i would change, but i also did like a good chunk of other things! i would’ve loved to see the connection between oakley’s epilogue at thanksgiving with this book, but it was definitely ignored. whatever so many things to say but i’ll leave it at this: it was a pretty mid story.

oh well! onto adam’s! he is my fav character after all!

“You, Gray. I think I am addicted to you.”

Oh my God!
This book was literally everything I ever wanted to read in romance mixed in one.

Tyler and Gracie are two of my favorite characters of all time. Their love story is unique, passionate and sexy af!

Tyler, oh my Tyler. He was so so so good. I love how the author gave him both positive and negative personality traits, making him seem more human. His internal battles were heartbreaking to read. I cried towards the end because this man suffered so much and yet managed to stay strong (and kind of an a-hole sometimes) only to never let someone else share a part of his darkness. I loved every scene! Every freaking scene featuring his POVs.

Gracie, such a gem this one was! I love how her character was strong, non-cliche and her actions were meaningful, her reactions reasonable and not OTT, and not to forget — her admiration for Tyler was so genuine. She is definitely going down as one of my favorite heroines. I adored her in Lucky Hit and this one just made me her friend!

And the writing — wow! The writing was incredible. The way the descriptions, dialogues and the emotions were in perfect balance with each other is worth mentioning. I found so many memorable quotes to highlight. Loved, loved, freaking loved it!

I said it before, I'll say it again — this is going down as my favorite romance of 2021 so far!

Thank you to the author for sending me an ARC.

They were polar opposites but I don’t think they will last. I know Tyler loves Gracie but this man still hasn’t gotten over of his trauma. Gracie pushes him to an extent but what about later on? I believe Tyler does everything he can to make Gracie happy but I want him to do something for him. Other than that, this was an okay read, not my favorite one.

o my i loved tyler & gracie way more than oakley and octavia i’m sorry 😭😭😭

tropes:
hockey romance
brother’s best friend
broken boy/fireball girl

1. Ngl the pacing of this book was not the best, but the reason why I kept up with it was because of the first book. Usually with interconnected stand-alones, you can generally read any book of the series and you wouldn’t feel as lost. With this book, if you didn’t read the first book, I could definitely see you being confused with the pacing and the storyline. It definitely felt like a strong continuation of the first book & novella following the first book.

2. I loved tyler ! I loved gracie ! NOW the reason why i love gracie was bc she understood that tyler was dealing with some deep trauma and she did not give up on him!! usually in these type of books, when the guy doesn’t open up right away, the girls get mad and upset and pressure them into telling them…. ironically i see that a lot of ppl love that (the fight leading up to the main guy spilling out all his frustrations and trauma in hopes of keeping the girl) NAH.. GIMME GRACIE INSTEAD BC SHE SLAYED. huge respect for her and my heart broke when she hugged him and just let him cry into her body 😭😭😭😭 and when she whispered “let me in” STOPPPPPPP i was emotional. definitely hit home for me with a boyfriend who went through the same thing

3. pacing again, was definitely weird; the end felt abruptly ended with the main conflict of tyler’s family. It felt rushed but I still enjoyed it and one thing about me is when it comes to family trauma, i’m happy with leaving it unsaid or unfinished🫢 i personally do not need reconciliation & sometimes i even prefer if they don’t make up (considering family mental or physical abuse is something I absolutely do not tolerate) But i can see how ppl would not like the ending !

4. WHEN IT COMES TO BEST FRIENDS SISTER AKA BROTHERS BEST FRIEND TROPE, I USUALLLLY HATE WHEN THE MAIN CONFLICT or CLIMAX OF THE BOOK
is the brother finding out and being angry…. it feels so reused and it has me rolling my eyes all the time. ladies and gentleman, this was not the main conflict of the book👏👏👏round of applause bc the brother actually finds out like 1/4 into the book

5. The spice was better in this book than the first! Gracie is a fireball and a tease and tyler praises so 👏

6. SHORT CHAPTERS WITH DUAL POV ! YAY!

Overall, I got super emotional and maybe the bar was lower since the first book disappointed me a bit, but this one redeemed it! I will def continue the series so that’s a good sign that i enjoyed it

WOW! When I say that this is one of the best sports romances that I have ever read I am seriously not kidding.

After reading Lucky Hit and absolutely loving it, I thought that my love for Ava and Oakley would be difficult to top but Hannah has only gone and done it. Blissful Hook follows Gracie and Tyler and the ups and downs of their relationship, as well touching on topics that many of us have or will experience at some point in our lives. The steamy scenes mixed with these harder hitting, tougher topics makes BH a completely captivating story and it is safe to say that I was completely hooked and invested from page one!

I am so excited for everyone else to be able to read this, it is clear how far Hannah and her writing have come since LH was published and I can promise that if you loved LH you will not be left dissapointed with book two in the trilogy! I am SO excited to read the third book in this trilogy ASAP now 💕

(Also, thank you for the ARC Hannah, I really appreciate being allowed to read Gracie and Tyler's story that little bit earlier!)

This book was cute! I think this book was sadly a little all over the place. The beginning and end were a bit confusing as it lacked context. I love a good brothers best friend romance! Gracie and Tyler are very cute but they both have issues I think they need to work on. Tyler’s past is so tragic and I love how Gracie helps him get past it. I think the ending was very abrupt and needed more to truly end the story. I loved the nickname Gray for Gracie as it was so cute! I think that this book was cute but a little rough around the edges!

I am going to start this one off by saying that if steamy romance is your cup of tea, then you won't be able to put down not only this book, but the entire trilogy.

What can I say about Hannah Cowan? She is hands down one of the best upcoming authors out there, and she deinitely made it from scratch. I found her on Wattpad, the cradle of some of the best contemporary authors, and from the beginning I could not, for the life of me, put her books down.

That being said, let's get to the fun part and what we're here for: the tea on this book, Blissful Hook, second one in the Swift Hat-Trick trilogy. First of all, I would strongly encourage readers to check out the first book in the trilogy, Lucky Hit, before this one. Everything will make more sense, and, naturally, you get a follow up on the lives of the MCs.

Anyway, I gotta say this is definitely my favourite out of the three. The plotline, while being 'brother's-best-friend', is actually quite innovative and has its own unique twists. I loved the fact that it brings back some hints from the first book, but also some things that happen in the time frame we didn't get to see.

Regarding the relationship between the MCs, Gracie and Tyler, it is quite refreshing to see, for one, a male MC that doesn't fall first thing into the relationship. She has to work for it. And don't get me wrong, it is not (only) because he is tring to fight falling in love and all that typical jazz, but he actually has more important things to take care of in his own life. There is also some sense of loyalty towards his best friend that I really respect, even though I was rooting for them as a couple.

Regarding Gracie, I really ended up admiring her perseverance. She knew where to draw the line, though, and she didn't let him walk over her. She understtod the baggage he carried and actually helped him overcome certain things, even when facing hardships of her own.

What I love the most about this story, though, is that it felt real from the get go. The characters are not perfect, not by a long shot, but we get to see their growth and development, and that is something I adore in this type of books. It makes you sympathize with the characters and understand that we are all humans, after all.

When you choose to read mature books, you have to undestand that it is not only the sexual aspect that is supposed to be complex, but the plot and the situations that happen, because that is the way things and people are in real life. We hear it a lot: "Nobody's perfect", right? So why should the characters in books be so?

All in all, this is a great book, part of a great trilogy. I don't think anyone would regret reading this. Except, maybe, for the fact that it leaves you yearning for some hot hockey player for yourself, *sighs*.

Is it possible to give a book over five stars, over ten? Because if so, Hannah and Tyler and Gracie deserve it.

I have to admit, in my opinion, Blissful Hook is better than Lucky Hit. But that's probably because this book was a slow-burn with a dirty talking possessive alpha. Oakley is hot, don't get me wrong but he has nothing on Tyler.

Oh Tyler, my sweet broken boy. He deserves more than what the world has to offer him and I'm glad he has Gracie in his life. Admittedly, I was apprehensive about her. She gave off the vibe of a stuck-up, rich, Daddy's princess in BH. Me, I couldn't have been more wrong.

I want a Gracie for myself and I want a Tyler for myself. Both of them could be my best friends. I love them so freaking much you have no idea.

I predicted the conflict with that hag Jess but I had to see it through, had to see the ball drop and boy did I love it. Gracie reaction was so fierce and strong and Tyler's character development is amazing! I also predicted Anne's death and that had me sobbing the entire time.

And you know what I guessed—the Brooks and Tyler thing. Like holy hell when Brooks came barelling in for Tyler's mother, I just had an inkling that maybe there was something more. The fleeting thought of Braden and Tyler being brothers was there but then I was like, "No, Hannah wouldn't do that." But then she went and did that! And oh my holy fuck, that ending! That bombshell of an ending! I don't usually curse in my reviews but I can't help it. My actual reaction at two-seventeen in the morning was literally "What the actual fuck?" I cannot wait for Adam's book—bet your ass I'm signing up for an ARC.

Love, love, loved this book. Cannot recommend it anymore. Blew me away. Hannah is a genius. Ooh, and the smut here. Sheesh. There was only one scene in BH but here, lawd, she wasn't kidding about Tyler.

Overall Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5.
Spice Rating: 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶/5.

""Let me in," she murmurs quietly, inching closer
to me. The seconds flick away slowly around us."
I love it! I just love it, after reading lucky hit (which I totally recommend reading if you like a sweet light romance!) one would think it couldn't better... well it just did! Only this is no light romance, this is a steamy, forbidden love romance that will totally blow your expectations.
Tyler Bateman is your favorite Hockey-Star womanizer who has all girls falling to his feet... well everyone except her.
Gracie Hutton is your favorite kind, sweet and funny girl, but don't let her kindness fool you because she's also a spitfire that gets whatever she wants and fights tooth and nail to get it, and she wants Tyler Bateman.
To the steamy romance to the incredible character development this two will make you want to fight for what you want... who you want, and show you that the fights might be hard but it is all worth it at the end.
Once again I bow down to the author for making such a piece of art.
And you reading this Right now go and get your copy of Blissful Hook ASAP I promise you wont be disappointed ;)

Brother's best friend is not a trope I love for a number of reasons but as a Hannah Cowan stan, I felt the need to make sure I have read all her books so I went back and read Tyler and Gracie's story. This is one of the better BBF's stories I have read, the timeline actually was preferable to me like how everything played out with their relationship so props for that. I love these characters and this universe so it was not a hardship to read however it's hard after reading Vital Blindside and Her Greatest Mistake to give this a solid four when I absolutely fell in love with those two books. Also Gracie is such a queen, the way she took none of Tyler's shit, standing ovation girl 👏👏 Still enjoyed this one and it kept me engaged, which is not something I usually experience with BBF. I read these super out of order and weirdly but happy to have finished this series but sad that it is over. Excited about the next second-generation book!!
