Alex and his crew continue their journey to Terr Island, but the sea isn’t the last obstacle they have to face. Once they land, it’s an uphill battle against the island to reach Terr’s capital, and even when they reach the city, trouble abounds. If Alex doesn’t do something, the island of Terr is in danger of being destroyed by the Red Sun demons, or worse, by civil war.
We start immediately where we left off. Alex and crew are stranded in the middle of an endless hurricane short staffed after a mutiny. They come up with a plan to escape and basically would have all died if Aventolle’s saved fish hadn’t saved everyone’s bacon. They get to Ter and nothing is as it should be. Rampant prejudice, false charges, killer jungle animals etc abound and Alex will need to prove himself to both the upper and lower reaches before progress can even be a serious conversation. It was pretty good. And while lots of action happened the overall plot moved too slowly for me. Hence the 4 stars instead of 5 but I’m still excited about book 6!
Another brilliant and exciting adventure! This series quickly became one of my favorites books to read and anticipate the next release. The characters are brilliant and beautifully written. The world is vibrant and colourful and it is always amazing getting to read and learn more about the world. The pot and story are intriguing and the latest events more so.
But it's the characters love and adoration to his newfound family that make this book so engaging to me.
This book, fifth in its series. Proves Eric Vall is an awesome Author. Who's books are well worth reading. Though in this series. He does seem intent on leaving his readers hanging. By leaving the of the story with bit of a cliff hanger. As if we his reader's actually need some reason to read the next book. Which given how good the stories he writes are. We definitely don't need.
Like I said it was good, but the whole concept I thought was about Alex winning wives through duels, and he hasn't done that since book 1. He just went to a land flu of dinosaur people, and yet no dinosaur girl
This is one incredible story, with fantastic characters, and an absolutely fascinating world! The depth of the story and character relationships really makes this a great adventure! I eagerly await the next one
Fun and fast paced series with action and adventure! The characters are fun and keep your interest. There's interesting plot twists in this on. But you need to read the book to find out!
Alex and crew make it to Terr. However nothing is as expected. Killer beasts, treachery, trials, and possible civil war abound. I like the action, humor, intrigue, and romance. I look forward to the next book.
An awesome adult adventure series!!! Great adult fantasy action throughout!!! Powerful characters, great character and world development!!! More more more
Very good book and it just gets better with each one . The story is excellent and the characters are really well thought out ,I can't wait for the next book 😀
Alex is the man and he hasn't disappointed with his commitment to his family and the love he has for his wives. A book about harem it has a story but the intimate scenes are too far in between. Please give more action, with the couples. Alex and Zoie had more action in the beginning.
I'm sorry, but this book is a big step down for me from the rest of the series. I just couldn't get into it. It was hard to care. I feel like the author is in a rut concerning the relationships in this book. I was not entertained.
The Duelist has hands down become my favorite series in the genre. In this book, we see even more of the world being built and discovered, we learn more about the cultures that Alex comes across. The pacing is well done, I could not put this one down until I had finished it. I hope Eric Vall ends up making this series a 20 plus book run.
