This one is pretty similar to its companion novel, just with more trauma.

“I am very troublesome.”
“Then I look forward to a lifetime of trouble.”

Aaahhh this little gothic novella was so much fun! I LOVED the headstrong and reckless FMC Jael and the clever fox-faced Sebastian. It’s a plot I’ve read a few times before, but the great pacing, light/brisk dialogue, and charming characters made this a really enjoyable read.

I love the expansion of this world. Jael isn’t a girl typical of the times. She’s observant and speaks before she thinks sometimes. I’m so glad we get to find out how Sebastian is atoning for his misdeeds in Wishwood. Another good mystery romance.

Fun Romantic Mystery

This was an interesting story with quirky characters and plenty of who-done-it suspense. A quick, fun read I can recommend.

I enjoyed getting to see some of Sebastian's story unfold through the eyes of Jael. Her story was an interesting and goose bump inducing read just like the first book. Interesting characters and a good plot. Kept me engaged the whole story.

Content:
Sexual: kissing only
Violence: mild
Language: none

Hard to follow a bit with so many characters, but enjoyed a true Gothic

More romance would have held my interest a bit more. A little too rushed in my opinion. A good conclusion.

It was okay. I didn't love it, but that may be because novellas sometimes seem underdeveloped to me.

Too short

Exciting. Liked the character Jael. Had it figured out too soon, however. Only the aunt could have been guilty. Fun read.

Meh

Just...meh. 🤷🏾‍♀️ It wasn't bad and it wasn't really good. I didn't like the main character and narrator but I will say that it was a quick read.

This was a gothic mystery. I liked it all right but I felt the end was rushed and so my rating dropped in points.

great book

Just as good as book 1. You never know where E.B. Wheeler is going in her stories which makes the ending so unsuspected.
