I Am Awesome is a story that invites ALL children from ALL backgrounds to practice daily affirmations to promote positive thinking and recognize self-worth.
I love reading Children's Books with my nephew because they are fun to read and they teaches beautiful life lessons in just few minutes.
Recently I got my hands on the book "I AM AWESOME" penned by the author Patricia Brioux. The main purpose of this book is to tell all children to practice positive affirmations daily. Many times, we feel low and we don't recognize our self-worth. As a result, our performance gets affected.
Some positive affirmative words like Kind, Funny, Happy can help the little readers to stay positive throughout the day and have a great day. This book is suitable for kids of age group 3-5 years. Cover photo of the book is eye catchy and it caught my attention in the first look. Great job by author-illustrator duo in this adorable book.
I was granted complimentary access to I Am Awesome as part of my participation in a blog tour for this title with Goddess Fish Promotions. Thank you to all involved in affording me this opportunity! My thoughts are my own and my review is honest.
I Am Awesome is a series of positive "I Am _" statements with supporting statements ("I am powerful. I can do anything I set my mind to.") accompanied by illustrations of kids doing things that fit these statements. It feels more like a collection of motivational posters than a storybook with a storyline, but as the parent of a young child who always wants one more story before bed when we've already read 4 books, I can definitely appreciate books like this one too!
I received this awesome book in a giveaway. This is my honest opinion.
This book is to be read by all children of reading age, and read to children wh don’t read yet.
The book is for children of all types, and goes through several reasons why the child is awesome.
If your child is saying things like, “nobody likes me”, “I can’t do anything “, or just feeling unsure of themselves “I am awesome!” Is the book they should read.
I enjoy children’s books and was glad I had the opportunity to read this book.
This book was such a cute, fun, exciting, and engaging read!!!
This book is so welcoming, inviting, and accepting of all readers and encourages and inspires others to have the same open heart!!!
At a time when our country is so divided and hateful viewpoints are becoming the go-to response, we ALL seriously need to read this book!!!
I am deeply saddened every time I hear another news story fueled by hate. What message – what example are we teaching our children?! This book, reminds us that we need to be more accepting, accommodating, understanding, and encouraging - to EVERYONE!!! This is exactly what we need to be teaching our children or these hate fueled cycles will continue for generations.
This book offers children insight to understanding their self-worth, encourages them to believe in themselves, inspires them to dream big, and teaches them to motivate and encourage others to do so.
This book is one of those deep and profound important life lessons books, which may allow the reader to engage in and express a variety of complex emotions. While this book also provides strong fundamental skills most young readers will ultimately see it as a fun, innocent, enjoyable children’s book!!! I think those are some of the best books as they offer valuable information, but keep the material in a light, fun, upbeat manner.
I LOVED the beautiful, bright colored illustrations that strongly complemented the positive, uplifting stories.
I really enjoyed that each page had its own narrative. I loved that so many children from all various backgrounds, families, cultures, communities, etc. were represented in this book!!!
This book truly defines inclusiveness and diversity!!!
This is exactly the type of book we want our young ones reading!!!
Whether you are reading this book to your child or are being read to by your child, this eBook is the perfect length at just 18 short pages.
All in all, I really enjoyed reading this book and would absolutely recommend it!! I think all young children, young readers (and even those not so young lol!!) will like this book too!! So, add it to your TBR List and get to reading - you won't be disappointed!!

Put a smile on your children’s faces, and hand them this little book. I Am Awesome is written for all kids, coming from every background. Like yourself, believe in yourself… a great message that permeates every page of this story.
The author obviously realizes that children are often lacking in confidence and so has written this inspiring tale to lift spirits and lighten hearts. The pages are filled with reasons and reassurances that every child can and should feel good about themselves.
The illustrations are vibrant and cheerful, filled with life and enthusiasm. They complement the idea behind the driving force of the book. It is a quick read and worth a look. Why not read this with the children in your life and see them nod in understanding?
This book was, well, AWESOME. This book is filled with wonderful examples of positive affirmations for children that should be reinforced throughout their lives. The illustrations are perfect for this message. I loved seeing all the different ethnicities, boys, girls, young, and old. It was a perfect mixture of what the world should be. I love the overall positivity of the whole book. My favorite illustration was the one with the little girl and her grandpa. It reminds me of me sitting holding my daughter like that. I love finding any kind of book like this with positive messages and encouraging my son that he can do anything. He has a hard time believing in himself, so this was great to share with him.
There are some great worksheets you can download for your kids for free from the authors website - https://patriciabriouxbooks.com/resou.... You can see a couple examples in the pictures above.
My Review: I am Awesome is a book that I like to recommend not only to kids but to adults as well. Many times we encounter a situation in our daily life when we aren't able to give our best. At that time, we feel less worthy. Some positive affirmative words can help us at that time to feel our self-worth. This whole book is so colorful and has beautiful illustrations. Each page has one positive affirmative word. By the end of this book, readers will be aware about so many positive affirmative words that they should practice daily.
This is a worth reading story. It's very important for kids to know their self-worth since young age. Author has won my heart with the way she has presented this book. Little readers will be delighted to get their hands on this book. It could also be included in school lessons. A must read book for kiddos.
Parents should gift this book to their little ones. It's totally worth.
I just wrote a review on another children’s book trying to explain that it was important to me that while they should always be fun reading, it was so easy to add a little educational input or a bit of teaching values. Well this is one of those. Just great.
This is another Tellwell Talent publication. As I have said before, they seem to attract good authors and they most certainly have done so here. It’s fun to read, absolutely great illustrations and yet, each vignette shows us what we are worth. Might not be a bad idea for a few of we adults to read it.
As far as reading, this can definitely be read to a preschool to 3rd grade child. Depending on reading skills and maturity, it could be read by a 3rd or 4th grader. Here’s something important though. There are so many worthwhile points in this fun book, it would be a shame not to read it with your child. There could be a gazillion learning discussions. This will be one of those books you don’t read just once with your kids.
“I Am Awesome”, written by Patricia Brioux and illustrated by Floyd Yamyamin, is an inspirational children’s book that is filled with vivid drawings that demonstrate positive affirmations using a variety of young cultural representatives.
I love the encouraging images that are colorful and intricate and will be excellent conversational gambits, and it’s fantastic that the characters are so inclusive. I think a short introductory paragraph aimed at older readers might be helpful because I was confused when I first started the book, thinking I had missed a page to explain what was going on. For me, some of the scenarios aren’t quite self-explanatory without the words, so that seems a bit contradictory to the book starting without an introduction, but perhaps the book is designed to evoke questions. This is a lovely and thoughtful book that is short enough to keep the attention of young children, and a great tool to promote positive self-images and inclusivity.
I AM AWESOME is a brightly colored, upbeat work that promotes positive thinking and self-worth. The book imparts these important ideals with delightful examples and illustrations. Each page is devoted to a single concept such as kindness, strength, honesty, etc. with a poignant, sometimes humorous demonstration. The illustrations are detailed and beautiful; and add a layer of depth to the charming presentation of the book’s subject matter. This book is a great instrument for initiating a conversation with children about any of the topics covered therein.
A lovely addition to any home (or school) library for little ones! [I also loved the “about the author” blurb at the end!]
"I Am Awesome" is a Children's Book written by the author Patricia Brioux and illustrated by Floyd Yamyamin. This is an amazing book that motivates the kids to recognize their self-worth. Positive affirmations play an important role in our life. If we keep on saying positive words to ourselves, we feel inspired.
Some of the positive affirmations from the book that we should practice daily are: I am KIND, I am HAPPY, I am STRONG, etc.
Pretty illustrations made the pages of this book more lively. Cover photo is nice and title of the book couldn't have been more appropriate. I like to strongly recommend this book for little readers.
This book says it all, that we are smart, beautiful, funny, strong, brave, and AWESOME! There is so much hate in the world these days and we just have to remember that each one of us is unique, loved, and overall awesome!
This book is simple yet beautifully done. The message is one that not only kids should read but adults too. The art/pictures are gorgeous and perfect.
I loved this book and think every single person should read it, young and old!
Love reading this beautiful book of positive affirmations for kids. I think each page can be used as a poster. My favorite is ‘I’m Thankful…’ I also like that some supportive, very powerful positive thoughts are also include with each affirmation.

Reading a children’s book is something which I don’t do generally but then I don’t know how and why I loved reading this book full of pictures and positivity sprinkled in it. This was a short read and maybe for that short duration, I felt good about life. From a child’s perspective, this book shall be very beneficial to them as it will help them to inculcate the positivity and goodness of life. The book comprises illustrations and along with it mostly one-liners or I can say uplifting and thoughtful lines. Like the title of the book suggests being awesome, in the same way, the whole book is an accumulation of lines that the children need to know and understand from a young age to develop their self-esteem from a young age. Like it shows the importance of kindness with an illustration of sharing. How the kids who are physically special can be uplifted with words like being strong is illustrated and stated. Being cheerful and happy is an integral part of the child’s life. When a child tries to be in a new competition, it is important to make him believe that he is brave enough. The thought of being thankful for the almighty and counting blessings is an important aspect to be incorporated from a young age and that is shown with an eye-catching illustration in the book. And then how honesty can be made understood to kids with tales . The value of being healthy and considering own self the way he/she is born is portrayed well in the book. Overall a tiny, happy book for kids which can help them in being a better person in future.
"I Am Awesome” by Patricia Brioux is a short read of 17 pages which I finished reading in one sitting and the book is as amazing as I expected it to be. So, it is being a long time since I have started reviewing children books, the book I came across was “I Am Awesome” is one of the best books I came across this season. This book certainly is a wonderful reading and the structure was very simple, making it easy to understand and recommend to age group 3~5. This book's main objective is to instruct all kids to make positive statements daily. We feel poor many times and don't acknowledge our self-esteem. In this way we have an impact on our performance. This is a very creative and exciting children's book, and it has a very beautiful cover. The tale is well written, and well-illustrated. I love illustrations because they are pleasing to the eyes and are easy to understand. It was a fast and brief reading for me. I am sure children would enjoy reading it. This book has enhanced wonderful pictures and toddlers will love it.
This book is beautifully written and does a wonderful job of embracing the simple things that makes a child worthy that they may often over look. A gentle reminder that all children have something to be celebrated. This book is inclusive and diverse.
I received this book form a Goodreads Giveaway and I absolutely loved it. I loved the diversity of the characters and I think it is a book that all kids should read, since it is great at teaching the use of positive self-affirmations. It is a great book for helping kids learn to build their own self-esteem. I strongly recommend this book for all kids, and maybe some adults too!
This us a cute book. The pictures are cute. I read this to my grandchildren and they enjoyed it. We now have to read it eveyday , well at least the four year old thinks so
I've read a lot of these affirmation type books so maybe I'm kind of jaded. This book was fine, nothing wrong with it, it just didn't stand out for me. Other readers may really like it, so give it a try if it's something you're interested it.
{ Thank you to Goodreads Giveaways for providing me with a free copy of the book to review. }
