Andrea Schmidt is a freelance book designer and author who loves coffee and exclamation marks. One of her delightful design pieces was featured in HOW design magazine. She lives in Ontario, Canada. She enjoys baking bread, going to the library, and playing disc golf in the woods.
An invaluable resource for authors braving the world of self-publishing.
Almost Done Writing is a supportive guide filled with information and practical tips. Better yet, it can be used as a workbook to nut out those problematic areas, like settling on a title or researching the right cover for your genre. Above all, it is surprisingly easy-to-read for a book packed with so much information.
Although the book focuses on non-fiction, there is plenty of content that will be useful to indie authors of all genres: how to research cover design and work out the dimensions of your own book’s spine, how to generate excitement (and support) around your launch events, and much more.
If you’ve written a business book to share your expertise – or you’re thinking about writing one – get your hands on Andrea Schmidt’s latest book, “Almost Done Writing: Now What?”
Andrea not only tells you what to do to ensure your book gets printed, published, promoted, and in the hands of readers – she shares the how’s and the resources to get it done right. And she clearly explains the insider lingo to help you feel comfortable as you dive into the self-publishing realm. This guidebook will be a game-changer and career-maker for all nonfiction self-publishing authors.
I’m a big fan of this guided workbook, it takes you step by step through the self-publishing process (many of which I never even thought about! Such as how to get a ISBN number 😄). The best bit is Andrea’s voice is encouraging along the way, and she gives tips from her experience, and sample templates for emails you will can send pre-launch to generate hype etc...
As an author about to launch my first novel, The Salt Man, I found Andrea Schmidt's book Almost Done Writing: Now What? was invaluable. The step-by-step instructions in the book helped me navigate the maze of tools and tactics needed for a successful book launch. Thank you Andrea!
Someone recommended this book to me & I’m glad they did. It is filled with practical tips for writers & it’s nice to have a guide that provides publishing steps in an organized way. Definitely add this book to your writing resources tools.
