What do spies, an inn, and a small town have in common? Murder...
Spy extraordinaire, Charlotte Mission, is hiding out in her grandmother's quaint little inn in Gossip, Texas. With a rogue spy ex-husband after her, she has to stay under the radar for fear of losing everything she holds dear. Life in Gossip is meant to be peaceful, and Charlie's new job as a maid and assistant should be easy.
But things never go to plan in this cozy small town.
When a guest at the inn drops dead, it's up to Charlie to figure out whodunit before the local paper outs her position at the inn and compromises her cover. If only the murders stopped there--with cases stacking up and her ex-husband drawing ever closer, Charlie and her retired spy grandmother, Gamma, have their work cut out for them.
Join Charlie and Gamma as they solve six mysteries, herd cats in the kitten foster center at their inn, and try to save everything they hold dear in this clean, fun cozy mystery series.
Books in this set include:
Vanilla Vendetta Murder is a dish best served cold, sweet and vanilla… The last thing spy extraordinaire Charlotte Mission wanted was an early retirement in Gossip, Texas. As an ex-spy, the inn is about as exciting as runny cupcake batter. But Charlie’s got no choice. It’s hideout in her grandmother’s inn or risk discovery by the rogue spy who’s out to make her pay. Her ex-husband.
Strawberry Sin What’s worse than Gossip? How about a murder…
Spy-in-hiding, Charlotte Mission, is determined to keep her nose clean—after nearly being exposed to the man who’s hunting her, her ex-husband, she’s not interested in getting involved in another murder investigation. That is until the local librarian is slain and her ex-spy grandmother is fingered as the one whodunit. Charlie’s got to solve the mystery before grandma’s secret stash of weapons—don’t ask, don’t tell—is discovered, and they’re both carted off to federal prison. Or worse. But that’s not going to be easy, what with another agent snooping around, a literal fire to put out, and a new kitty shelter to run. She must solve the case before grandma goes to jail. Or breaks out of it.
Cocoa Conviction Chocolate and Easter go hand-in-hand. Apparently, so does murder…
Charlie Mission, spy-in-hiding, has just gotten used to the ‘normal’ life in Gossip, Texas. She’s helping her butt-kicking grandma look after the inn, baking cocoa cupcakes for the Easter festival, managing the kitten menagerie at the Kitten Foster Care Center, and avoiding her ‘babysitter,’ Agent Smulder, like he’s come to steal her chocolate eggs. Or to sweep her away into the dark underground before her murderous rogue spy ex-husband finds her.
Mint Murder There’s nothing more refreshing than mint. Except for murder…
When an old Hollywood superstar, a close friend of her grandmother’s, comes to celebrate her birthday at the Gossip Inn, Charlies hoping to fade into the background and play the part of the help. Until she stumbles upon a dead body. With suspicions mounting, radio silence from the one contact she has in her agency, and a missing friend, Charlie’s got her work cut out for her. Luckily, she has her Gamma for support. Charlie and Gamma must work together to figure out whodunit before the murderer escapes. Or claims another life…
Raspberry Revenge Murder can be the sweetest form of revenge…
Spy-in-hiding, Charlie Mission has gotten herself a boyfriend and that’s the least of her many problems. Life at the Gossip Inn is anything but simple, what with her grandmother’s Kitten Foster Care Center, the ever-annoying Jessie Belle-Blue always trying to throw a spanner in the works, and now… a ghost haunting the inn?
Chocolate Chills Which two things are dark, bitter, and satisfying? Chocolate… and murder
Charlotte Mission is no longer a spy-in-hiding. After a recent brush with the ‘underground,’ Charlie’s happy to be back at the Gossip Inn, serving as the assistant to her retired spy grandmother. This time, however, she’s got her sights set on capturing her ex-husband. Charlie and Gamma are in position, and the agency is sure to step in before things get wild. That is until one of the assistants in the kitten foster center is murdered, sending the Texas small town into a blind panic. Can Charlie and Gamma solve the case and stop Kyle before they pay the ultimate price?

I do not understand how this has such a high rating. Like it’s so bad. And do not ask me why I listened to all 6 books! They were short. Only about 4 hours each but I sped them up. Still. So bad. I think I hate read with my ears—which unfortunately is not the first series for me to do that with this year. 🤦♀️
I got this in a 2 for 1 credit sale and boy was I disappointed. So much just didn’t make sense. I love a cozy mystery and can let a lot go, but this one was just dumb. Like our protagonist is going underground because she’s a spy whose spy husband is a double crosser. So she goes to live with her former spy grandmother but no one can know she’s her grandmother even though no one knows her grandma was a spy too? Okay. So let’s be a terrible maid at an inn instead of just telling some of the truth.
Oh and then let’s not actually take on the undercover appearance because god forbid she does her precious blonde hair. No she’ll just wait for real danger. You know, after everyone has already seen her as her true self. Because that makes sense.
And the dialogue. Oh the dialogue. So stilted. Not natural in the slightest. I don’t think it helped I didn’t care for the narrator who was pretty meh and said library like a 3yo—over and over again in every book.
Then to top it all off, the budding “romance” was so boring with zero chemistry so when it SPOILER ALERT…fizzles out I didn’t even care. But was also disappointed because it should have been a fun side story.
This book had a good story plot with multiple twists and turns. It even has a little romance! Charlie, a spy, tries to escape from her traitorous ex-husband and winds up living (under cover) with her grandmother, a former spy herself, who now owns an inn and built a kitten adoption center. Anyway, murder, kidnapping,, so much going on,, and kittens! Now, I want a kitten like Cocoa Puff!
Secret agents. Double agents. Wackiest grandmother ever! Frustrated boyfriend! And lots of dead bodies! All five books kept my attention with their madcap characters and ongoing suspense. Was so glad to hear the characters would continue on and can't wait for the new series!
These books kept my attention and had me looking forward to each page. Enough action without being morbid or gruesome. Finding out who the bad guys were was surprising. I like not being able to guess what will happen, like with Agatha Christie’s novels. I recommend this as a nice easy read that is hard to put down.
Charlotte is supposed to be in hiding working at the Godsip Inn owned by her grandmother Georgina. When dead bodies pop up all over Gossip the two always seem to find them or be otherwise a suspect. Will their deepest secrets also be uncovered? A nice set with lots of excitment in each story along with a great cast of characters.
This has been a fabulous journey following the adventures of Gammy and Charlie. So much action, so many cats, awful print dresses and familial love. Here’s to more soon!
This series is about Charlotte and her grandma who happens to be a retired spy. These stories are lots of fun. It includes cats and self discovery. Lots of suspense too. These books are very hard to put down. Have a good time reading !!!
A really exciting set of books that keeps you reading even when you should be doing other other things. Sometimes hilarious, sometimes absurd, but all good fun and not to be missed
I enjoyed this box set of six cozy mysteries. Charlie, Gamma, and the other characters are realistic and fun. I also appreciate that there are no cliff hangers.
Great series! Very enjoyable to read and hard to put down. The characters took you on a journey as they developed and changed through each book. I liked how there appears to be an end to the plot in book 6.
I cannot believe how much I L O V E D this series. I’m looking forward to the mischief Charlie and Gamma will get up to in the new Gossip Cozy Mystery series!
The plots were very good and followed through very well. There we're quite a few misspellings and entirely wrong words used. Overall I enjoyed the books very much.
This fits the model of cozy book with cute dresses, a cat sanctuary and a kick ass granny. Spy in hiding Charlie Mission is staying with her grandmother and working as a maid in her inn whilst her ex husband (a double agent is hunting her). The book contains murder mysteries and an excess of cuteness.
Listening to this on audiobook I just couldn’t stay engaged in the stores and kept tuning out. Not sure why, there are a couple of amusing bits reminiscent of the Dana Deleon missy fortune books, but I just couldn’t concentrate on the stories. Also the MMC just isn’t that great with a tendency to not respect the FMC which is just weird.
Will try the books again some point i. The future to see if I can get more into the books.
I loved reading this series. It is a fun read with lots of mysterious murders in the small town of Gossip. Charlotte is undercover while staying with her Grandmother. Will she fit in, in this small town? I look forward to reading more by this author.
This boxset is a yummy delicious feast for the eyes. I adore Author Rosie A. Point for coming up with a series filled with fun, thrill, enthusiasm, a great sense of adventure, humor, friendly teasing, sweet flirting. To sum up, this series is one of the best cozy mysteries and highly entertaining.
I hung in for the series, although the first book almost made me stop all together. The character names are unrealistic, but fun embodiments of their personalities. I caught several storyline and character discrepancies along the way as well. If you need a weekend read that won't tax your mind, this one might be for you.
Omg! What a thrill these books gave me, I truly enjoyed Charlotte and her ugly-adorable animal print clothes, hehehe that was sent to her for her cover story. I won't say more, you must read it for yourself. Mysteries, thrills and love. I will read this series over and over.
The book series captivated readers with its compelling narrative, particularly highlighting the profound relationship between the protagonist and her grandmother. The grandmother's influence was instrumental in shaping the narrative, contributing significantly to the creation and development of the books' rich storytelling and emotional depth.
I enjoyed this series and took 2-3 days to read it. The tongue-in-cheek humor, beginning with the name of the town, had me shaking my head. The characters were interesting, quirky, annoying, but mostly sweet. It's a clean read and a bit improbable, but that's what makes it fun. And the mystery keeps building with each book of the series until the end.
This box set is packed with drama and action. A spy in hiding and her grandmother, a retired legendary spy are forced to solve numerous crimes and murders while staying safely undercover.
A great set of books! I have enjoyed the antics of Charlie, gamma and the resident cats. An inn with hidden rooms and passages and agents seeking revenge. Enjoy!
Enjoyed these books immensely. Can't wait to read more. They were quite captivating and kept me reading into the wee hours. I not only laughed my way through them, but I shed a few tears for them as well. Great read.
